At first I was so afraid that they would say how unusual her style was, or how it just wasn't right, or demean it like other TV personalities demean comics, anime or alternative fashion. As a disabled person, what her husband just said.. if my significant other ever said that about me, it would have honestly just destroyed me. One of my biggest fears about dating is becoming a burden for someone. And calling her a little kid and saying he's gotta take care of her... idk I just hope she doesn't feel the same way I do.

Her husband seems like such a sweet caring and kind man. She is so lucky to have someone who loves her so much. And I feel horrible that she NEEDS to get in costume just to be excepted. I love her dolly look, no shade, just I hope that someday people won't be cruel to people like her so she, and other physically handicapped people can stop being thought of as "less than".

What a BEAUTIFUL girl not only on the outside, but her beauty on the inside shines out so bright! Also, her husband is such a wonderful, loving, and supporting man! They both definitely found a perfect soul mate in eachother💖 I'm a single mother of 3 disabled special needs children and sadly we also don't have the help or family that we could surely use. I understand the struggles and worries one can have. As parents worry about their children doing certain things, I worry about my children NOT doing some of those certain things. I never thought I could raise 3 special needs children myself. Especially when I'm unable to work because of 2 of their disabilities. My children are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and my life!♡ I'll tell you all! NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOURSELF!! You truly don't know sometimes what you're capable of until you're doing it!! It's sad that so few who need help actually get it. I admire you and your "can do" attitude. Many people cannot handle one special needs child and whine about it. Here you are with three. My mother in law (90 yrs.) and I are both disabled. Although she has a perfectly healthy daughter, "her house is just too small" and she cannot care for her. We have a large enough house because we bought one with my mother in law in mind! My husband works and cares for both of us, grocery shopping, doctors, house cleaning, cooking etc. I have always believed that where ever there is a will (or a want to) there is a way. Some don't have the "want to." My husband is precious. So are you.

She seems so sweet and genuinely kind hearted.

She is really beautiful! I can't imagine how hard each and every day is for her. I have so much respect for her positive attitude, and I'm glad that she found someone with the warmth and patience to care for her like that. They're both very special people.

This is sad to change herself so people accept her but I think she likes what she's doing

It's not fundamentally different, no. Almost everybody acts, looks, etc. different in public compared to when in private. But yes, it's sad that people are that horrible to people they don't know enough about.

oh my gosh I am so glad God created this beautiful man to help her throughout her life and to care for her and love her like she deserves to be loved. God bless them. she is so sweet and I am praying for her.

This taught me something, it ended up very positive, and I'm glad to see her happy. She's awesome!

I'm so glad to see that she got a stair lift AND a vacation. I was gifted a used stairlift almost 2 years ago by an elderly woman moving into an apartment and it gave me the gift of being able to do my own laundry and park in my (basement level) garage. It's been fantastic. As for the vacation she got? Love it. So often, as a disabled person, people over focus on the Patient and forget the Person. The gift of a vacation acknowledges that Person and acknowledges that we all deserve things like that. Going on a trip as a disabled person is difficult and expensive, and with daily life already being difficult and expensive (plus often times income is dramatically lessened), vacations often don't happen. I'm thrilled for her that she got that chance. My personal dream is to make it back to Rhinebeck for the sheep and wool festival again. One day.

Cosplay is dressing up as a specific anime/comic book/etc. character. Lolita is a fashion style that originated in Japan and takes influence from Victorian English traditions but is made cute gothic and/or cute girly according to the wearer's preference. It is never based on a specific character (or any character, really).

I dress up in Lolita myself. :) I love lolita style clothing. Living Doll is different but we use the same style to express ourselves. It is nice she finds this style positive as well. That is what I felt. Even when I was overweight, I actually got a lot of positive comments when dressed like this. I have since lost a lot of weight and I am now in my BMI. It is nice. It is nice when people like talking to me...

The thing that blew me away she was standing by herself in the cosplay area where there is professionals and she stood out like a living angel seriously... She blew everyone away with her look. I had no ideal she was sick she did have a cane but she made it look like a prop. What a sweetheart I hope someone can fine a cure for this disease and help heal her an others just like her!

She was also interviewed for dressing and acting like a "living doll" but was met with a mountain of criticism and insults. I just find the two situations interesting. I don't have any problems with how this woman is choosing to be, and I'm happy to see that lolita culture is making her happy! I'm a fan of the style myself. It's just a little disheartening that one type of person is praised for dressing like that, and another type is mocked.

Nadiali Yeah I have to agree in a way. She should most certainly dress that way way if she wants to, if anyone wants to he or she should. The thing that bothered me was she coped with people calling her a crackhead and horrible things by dressing like a doll--which would imply it was for everyone else or to make being social easier. I get it. I have a disorder called porphyria. If I decided to play up my vampire-esque features and I posted it all over social media as my method for coping I'd probably have a lot more friends. My issue here is HER happiness. I think she is absolutely a sweetheart dressed and made up as a doll or not. I just hope it's because she wants to each day, I know with her disease and my disease we have very limited energy and I wouldn't want her wasting it because people can be judgemental. I hope this makes sense.

That is exactly what I thought after watching this. Fortunately, there's another video that explains that she has always loved dolls and was dressing in a mild Lolita style before her deterioration. It sounds like having MD gave her the courage to go full on Lolita the way she wanted to.

Being an Otaku is a disability

my mom had a form of muscular dystrophy, CMT. She kept her self moving and walked years after they though she would be able to! cancer got her in the end, she was 83 years old when she passed. stay strong and keep moving!!!!

I dislike medical TV shows like this, but I admire you for your strength.

My depression makes me eat a lot of Cheetos in my bath robe.
