You have to draw the line *somewhere*. What is possibly healthy about a full-grown adult pretending she's a mermaid 24/7? If Western society doesn't snap out of the fear of saying "That's wrong, and we're not going to let you do that", the next generation will be too preoccupied being adult babies - and goodness knows what else.

A lot of us mers get attached to our tails as a deeply personal bit of gear and if a person feels free and comfortable doing that, it leaves you feeling a bit weird the moment you stop. I wouldn’t say I’m useless out of my tail, far from it tbh, but I am rather clumsy when swimming without it because I’m so used to using a dolphin kick instead of a bipedal kick. It’s like how some people get really emotionally attached to their cars or their phones or something.

Rahima Williams there are websites like FinFun that have cheaper fabric tails that are pretty fabulous, and I actually prefer swimming with a tail than without, it's a better core workout and you can swim roughly twice as fast

I think what ppl miss understand when she says that taking off her fins feels like shes missing a part of herself, is not an abnormal thing at all. everyone has there thing especialy when they find theirselves as they grow in life. for some ppl its sports. when they cant play the sport they luv, they may feel empty or lost like sumthing is missing in their life. myself as an artist, i feel a part of me would be missing if i could not draw, create wutever pieces i wanted, or dive in the worlds i create digitaly or traditionaly. if that was taken away from me id would feel empty if i did not have my art in my life. as for her its her swimming as a mermaid that makes her whole. its what makes her happy and feel like herself. she said in the video she evens cares/works for the aquatic enviroment(or sumthing along those terms). so she doesnt do this for just shts and giggles. she identifies her self in that part of the world. if sumthing is not as normal or as common in society doesnt exactly mean theres something wrong with it. professional gamming, streaming/vlogging, youtube content creators werent a common ideal thing that everyone looked up to before. everyone thought these were wrong/ bizarre and useless things.... .... but look at where we are now.

Frency, stop freaking out over the specific words she mentioned. Whenever I cosplay Dovahkiin, I don't call myself Emma, because it ruins everything. If I cosplay Dovahkiin, then I am Emma-as-Dovahkiin for that moment. I introduce myself as Dovahkiin, knowing others will see I'm Emma, but I am roleplaying at that moment. Seems to unfortunately take a long time, even the comments for this video are split between positive and cruel- people can be so wildly intolerant it's unbelievable 😥 if it helps I'm not even a furry but I totally get it, who wouldn't find it fun to be a cool and cute giant fluff ball lol I've seen people make the limbs or heads or outfits of all kinds and it's really creative
