I agree with this statement. The band is just so amazing that it's the greatest joy to watch someone else discover it for the first time and go down rabbit hole. Been listening to nightwish since 2003-2004 and still feel i was late to the party. Just enjoy, they are gods/goddess on the stage. They focused on stage performance over studio, and one that has seen them in live performance, they hold up to this in live concert and 110% suggest/recommend seeing them live, because it's worth it. 😉😊🎉🎉

Tuomas (the keyboard player) is the mastermind behind about 95% of their music. Gabriel's list is always a great way to go into the rabit hole of Nightwish. I myself am a fairly new member of the Nightwish army. 1.5 years ago I didn't know they existed. Now I've got every album but one on vinyl and listen to them regularly, and I'm not really a metal or rock fan on the daily. Every new song you'll experience will show them doing something new or there'll be something that will surprise you.

By the way her dutch name Floor means Flower and has roots in angient Roman goddes Flora.

Last year at 56 years of age I thought I'd heard all the good music from all genres that there was to hear, then Nightwish and Floor came along and my whole musical world was turned upside down and inside out and has been ever since. Epicness right there on that stage DonVon. Storytime has all the trademark Nightwish transitions and multi layering. They are the Gold Standard. Emppu Vuorinen is a phenomenal guitarist and is a consummate musician whose playing always serves the song - and when the song calls for it, he can lay down blistering solos. I don't know what he thinks about being called a hobbit, but as a Finland National Judeo Champion I suspect he could throw you across the stage if he didn't like it, lol!

Tuomas designs them all - the lyrics, each instrument, vocals,(with the Input of the finer details from each band member too) background screens & lighting at live shows and videos. The artist paints the vision and you can interpret your own meaning from each song. Tuomas is the musical maestro!

Second: You should either have the lyrics separately, or they should fade in. Storytime belongs to the album / film music Imaginaerum. The song describes the main character. It was written for the second singer, Anette, who is a pop/jazz singer. She didn't sing the opera part either, unlike Floor. The film premiered during this tour. Shortly beforehand, Anette is fired and Floor sits in the front row as a temp. There is no studio version with a floor of any of the songs in the concert. Her first studio album was not released until 2015. Ghost Love Score was written for the first singer Tarja, who was an opera singer. That's why it sounds more like film music.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! LEARNING TIME: Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bullwhip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/Rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit". Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straightforward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. One of the best things to hear/ see that someone does not know NW, is to watch how they fall in the rabbit hole. I have listened NW since the beginning. Tuomas has stated many times that if anytime the band is in for the money not the art he will disband the band. He doesnt care about the money he makes. He is grateful for us fans but tbey make sure its not about the money. Ticket prices are ALWAYS reasonable. I almost when to see them in denver and i think floor tickets right at the stage was 150. Then they had vip tickets for not much more.
