"Rishton se itbar uth jana" hits me hard, my father invested alot of love and time in his nephews and nieces but on his death, only one of his nephews came to console me, all others were completely unbothered and even after 10 years i still can't forget their behavior. We shouldn't neglect ourselves while investing our time and love in the relationships.

Your podcasts are very thoughtful and knowledgeable thinking about how toxic our southasian culture is that we go onoard for people and they dont value that we just do it to seek validation but in return our mental health is detoriated but in some rare cases it is fruitful too But I wanna conclude by saying that these coversations literally talk about more sensitive and important topics in a very beautiful and respectful way So hats off to u guys✨

Yes, you people are right. It depends on the people you are living with, i live in a joint family but its so toxic. And everyone is in each others business. We had covid and none of our extended family were there to support us. But when there is something that they want, they expect us to be there for them. They know what there rights are but ignore others rights. And in todays time people fail to notice or take hint when other person is setting boundaries.

25:38 thats so true pakistani women need to decide what they want and take step.Accepting unpleasent situations and doing nothing for it ,is wrong.Having said that ,its not an easy thing to deal, in majority of pak.Families dont validate such concepts and many people dont even have choice. But another issue is that people don't even know their rights and obviously responsibilities as it is not taught in schools. But it is more of a cultural problem which i guess new generation is understanding and will brougt change slowly slowly.

resonating with dure sameen like 100% all the way !!! but i want to mention here, that sometimes its your direct family members like mother father siblings who do not look for your happiness instead looking out for their own benefits as well , and sometimes it is the extended families members like khala etc, who really support
