The 2nd part of the ending you missed is the abruptness. It goes with the lyrics "I am death" because death is unexpected and sudden and it's basically pure nothingness, just like the ending :) It's just one of the many parts of the lyrics and song with a hidden meaning. I'd start with summer, happy season, going through the death of nature to loneliness of winter towards the new hope of spring and summer, new life of nature. 😊 In Finland the seasons live with people often very concretely, so very well represented in these songs. Great reactions from you!

Well, if you listen carefully to the drum and pace of it is like an heart beat , everytime I listen to this song It reminds me of the day I saw my father died. HEartbreaking for me every time

I wouldn't call it death metal. For me it's almost purely modern black metal. Maybe you could say blackened death metal. I modified this song to sound like an old school black metal and it turned out great. With some minor tweaks I was able to do that. It's in my channel.

@@APREACTS i don't agree , no style can describe what wintersun does , Wintersun's style is basically Wintersun , if you disagree , i challenge you to find something that is as complex , emotionfull and that you can listen to the same 2 albums(now 3) for 10 years , thats what i've been doing , and man the experience you get by seeing them live , no band can achieve such ''depth'' , oh and by the way , we went to the same Wintersun show ! saw you guys backstage October 9th at the Opera House , Cheer fellow Wintersun fans !

Definitely give Aether Realm's "Tarot" album a listen. Especially "The Sun, The Moon, The Star." 20 minutes of American/Finnish death metal epicness.

This song is disturbing, I feel a bit sick when listening it. But to get the best emotional roller coaster ride, I need to listen this one first and then Loneliness. The ending of this song is so sudden and quietness (is that a actual word?) is super loud after those all harsh melodies, screams and growling. And then Loneliness begins...😭

Last song from Time 1 Land of Snow and Sorrow (Live rehearsal video) kzread.info/dash/bejne/lY52mKyPnM-wg8o.html Pick any song from the first album, they are all 10/10 absolute masterpieces and it may be hard to believe, but the album blows Time 1 out of the water. Time was originally going to be released all at once, but technical troubles throughout the production of the album delayed as Jari took upon himself way too much work in doing everything himself on the album, along with having to start from scratch one time too. In the end, Nuclear Blast told Jari to release the album in two parts. If the second part of the album was released with the first as a full album, I'm quite certain it would stand up to and maybe even surpass the first album. Some of the greatest stuff of the album is supposed to be on Time 2.

It's of course highly debatable whether either album "blows the other out of the water". I like both white equally, perhaps Time I a little more, but they are cut kind of beasts so it's hard to compare.

Yes, I think the selftitled album is "better" simply because of the sheer amount of incredible songs on the album. Time 1 is amazing too, but with only 4 songs it falls short because while they are all amazing tracks on the album, all the selftitled tracks are equally as amazing and it just wins out with the quantity of content. It is so hard to say that anything is better than anything else, because when I listen through the songs, I'm just in absolute love with every single track, and I could easily say that any of them could be my favorite one after hearing it. Less so with The Forest That Weeps and Awaken from the Dark Slumber, though. They are really good, and I really love some parts of the songs, and especially the lyrics in The Forest that Weeps. In my eyes I give them 9 Wintersaunas out of 10, while pretty much every other song would be a 10. I suppose it all depends on current mood and stuff like that too. There is so much variety in the Wintersun songs, and some are more appropriate for some times than others :)

Reminds me alot of oldschool black metal.

Please next Beyond the Dark Sun or Land of Snow and Sorrow! Better the second choice, it's the last song from the album Time :) Pd. This is the most black metal song from them, live is terrorific, amazing. Now, brace yourself for epic riffs, trash, power, epic and sadness with the other songs. Cheers!

Those drums are actually played by drum machine. Jari composed them.

At least for me, this Autumn track was the hardest one to listen to. However, when I listened it like 5 times, I realized how cool it is! The only con is that the first few minutes of the song are a bit stale, but the rest is pure gold!

i guess it's the subclavian artery that's compressed by scalene muscles, or is it neuralgia b/c of brachial plexus compression? either way surely a bit of resting should decrease neck muscle's tension =D good luck with that!

The lyrics of this song is the best of the album I think, and I like how they end the song, like, they show how death comes suddenly. They do. I saw them live last (winter)sunday and they closed the show with Eternal Darkness and Time. It was unreal. They also played it at this year's Summer Breeze festival. The full show is here on KZread, but also as seperated tracks.

If it was Kai Hahto (Wintersun) drumming in this album, the accuracy and perfection wouldn't be any worse than they are now. Hahto would have only added his creativity in it. And BTW, he has played in a grindcore band Rotten Sound
