    Mike piloted Winota really well in game 1! Game 2... Keeping a hand with no card advantage and non-Humans is questionable but the curve is there. The problem is that you are held hostage by your topdecks for non-Humans. Greg Deluging the Drannith was a bad idea I would say.

    @@PlayingWithPowerMTG It's cool, speaking as a Winota player, I've suffer through that myself when I'm in games with Selesnya players who jam out turn 1 Dranniths. It takes a lot of aggressive mulling to make Winota work, that and you need a really good reason to cast Winota turn 1 and that reason better be "I have a hasty attacker." Otherwise, people just re-calibrate and plan their interaction suite.

    Also wouldn't have mattered because Shaun would've still had infinite mana into Kinnan. Having access to Thrasios wouldn't have changed the outcome of that game. Just forgot he had the March. Whoops, Magic is hard.

    Shaun here. Greg maintains the deck database list for curious control. He is an absolute master of the deck with over 400 games under his belt. Mike, Noah, and myself all have extensive experience playing against Greg and know to respect the deck. The most common way you lose to it is allowing multiple card draw engines to stay in play. You generally are ok with the first engine, but once he untaps with the second card draw engine he will draw enough cards to police the rest of the table. Because of this, you need to disrupt these engines, hence why we went so hard after his Vial Smasher with a curiosity effect on it.

    I think there was a miscalculation in the second game on shauns turn. He only used 1 treasure that sacs for 2 mana + 2 life to pay for a phyrexian metamorph. So he shouldnt have really had that treasure to interreact with the march on noahs turn. Hate to be that one guy in the comments but usually i dont catch these in your videos.

    Game 2. Why T/B pilot can even cast March of Swirling Mist with Prelate on 1? Prelate looks on mana value, not cmc in stack. So X in mana cost doesn't matter and it's still 1 mana spell

  • @spielrahoo

    @spielrahoo

    Жыл бұрын

    Thats not quite right. Mana value is the new term for CMC, they mean exactly the same thing. When you play an X spell, whatever you pay for X is included in the mana value. In this case, X = 3, so the total mana value of the March is 4, making it a legal play.

    I did when it was all about T&T Flash Hulk. But Flash is no more, and now there are plenty of cards to play in each color (though white is still trailing behind). Personally, I'm enjoying Malcolm the most among all partner commanders. He stands out 'cause he's actually out there gettin' it in on the field and is integral to the fast wincon with Buccaneer. Thrasios is quite bland in comparison. He feels like a game piece vs. a *Commander.* This is why I was not very enthused by partner commanders. Thrasios and Tymna especially are often just there for the colors and card draw utility.
