I kinda love that the original design of Dranath Magistrate was it's supposed to stop Companions from being cast, but because of the errata nerf they no longer effect each other

Kind of funny that despite the errata, it’s still a playable card in multiple formats LOL. EDH application is obvious, but it stops Cascade in Modern, as well as locking out adventure creatures in exile.

I don’t know if this can be stressed enough but, I really appreciate the diversity of decks shown here. I’m so tired of the same old same old (even though they’re the best and I get it) with Tymna and Kraum and co. So, thanks for showing these decks and hopefully we get to see more diverse strategies and gameplay 💪🏻

The most valuable card goes to Drannith Magistrate. It kept every opponent's deck off its win for the entirety of its time in the game, which is even more impressive since it entered turn one.

07:20 shouldn't have drawn since there is a RIP on the battlefield.

@@crispycaveman9164 notion thief was cast by Lincoln and it absolutely shut me down. I tried to dig for an answer but didn't find anything unfortunately.

I've been brewing a Sisay/Jegantha combo deck and it seems like I might need to take a closer look at Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset! Thanks!

I love kyle's deck. I love it so much i made a budget version of the deck and added one wincon to the deck that I like and other cards into it.

Thran portal's art fits a Sol ring very well, sweet proxy !

Notion Thief is my MVP as after the dress down left the battlefield, it completely shut down all the value from Shorikai and Unwinding clock which I think would have just run away with the game.

Question for the room - if you were going to assemble 4 CEDH decks for new CEHD players to pick up and play against each other, what decks would you pick? Each deck would come with a cue card explaining the general strategy and any combos they should look out for. I'm currently liking Yuriko and Godo because those are fairly straightforward but undecided on the other two.

I would probably avoid Ad Naus, Breach, and other combos that require lots of tutoring or experience to pull off. Something simple like Kinnan and infinite mana.

Cathar Commando, killing Rhystic Study over a sneak attack just chilling on the table. Hmmm

What a great wincon with repeated planeswalker activations. Points for style. I thought for sure he was gunning for the Teferi emblem at first.

I'm debating if I want to focus on a creature style Sisay deck or go into plansewalker win conditions with stuff like Oath of Teferi and Aminatou, both good choices

Got a question about the Shirokai/Force of Negation interaction if that’s the case could you use Essence Scatter against Shirokai then since it’s an artifact not a creature spell in that instance?

No Shorikai is not a creature card, but a vehicle which is an artifact subtype which can turn into a creature. Essence Scatter targets only creature spells. Shorikai is a legal commander because there is a rules text on this card: shorikai, can be your commander, card specific rules overwrite general game rules.

I know sweepers can be bricks but you'd think Shorikai and Godo would run more than 2 apiece when they are heavily hampered by Stax creatures. Maybe something like Evacuation or Vanquish the Horde (since you can make a lot of pilots) for the former and Anger/Kozilek's Return for the latter? Love the Sisay deck. I'm sure Timeless Lotus is suboptimal but would be tremendous swag. Also love the inspired Rhythm of the Wild inclusion as well as Need for Speed! Might steal that one for my casual Etali deck! That Lazav deck is so Dimir it hurts and is argument #1 that Hullbreacher cannot be unbanned.

Watching Corey get slowly killed by his mana crypt and combat damage is almost maddening. Kyle just watching and winning is usually how some of these games go. Someone sits back, does almost nothing all game, and then explodes for their win because they were being muzzled somehow. I also wish there was an easier way to keep track of mechanics that exist on the battlefield as opposed to having to just remember that now the normal interaction for a card doesn't happen. I'm referring to the skullclamp with RIP on the battlefield here. Corey drew 8 cards from triggers that never happened. Not hit fault but something like that should get caught.

Owner of the effect has to keep an eye out for that to not happen, as well as all players of course.

Hmm, my Sisay Superfriends wincon is get a way to ult on ETB, then go for Samut the tested, wipe out everyone elses legendary creatures/walkers (usually with Sorin) and then ult Bolas. Let's see if that's the combo here.

At 8:50 Corey shouldn't be able to draw since Dress Down is gone and Notion Thief is normal again.

I was thinking the same thing. And the fact it ate a counterspell was kinda funny. I was looking for something on board that could’ve blown up the RIP but didn’t spot anything.

Firing dies triggers with rest in peace on the field is very sad 😔

Skull clamp does not work with rest if peace on the battlefield. :/

Counterbalance seems to have harmed more than it did good, I think if corey kept using unwinding clock rather than ending every turn with 6+ mana open he could have gone further into the deck to win, had an insane board state compared to the rest of the table except Lincoln

I think it would be better to use the same art in the overlay as the actual card. Less likely to cause confusion for viewers.

I really like your guys content, but Holy shit, it's 4 minutes before the game starts.

Dress down triggers at the beginning of the end step, they already were in Lincoln's end step so the sacrifice trigger only triggered at Corey's end step

I flashed in dress down after the beginning of his end step and dress down says sac at the beginning of the next end step which would've been my turn. That's why it was in effect until my end step

Dress down works until the next end step, he cast it on my end step, meaning it was around for his entire turn

its because he played it on lincolns endstep, dress down sacs on the next endstep so if you play it in your opponents endstep it lasts for a entire turn.

I think my favorite sisay/jegantha deck is where Najeela is the secret commander.

Kyle should not have been able to search his deck for that Volcanic Island due to Aven Mindcensor and Op Agent being on the board, I dunno who would override who in this situation to be honest but pointing that out

Normally I don't point out mistakes but this game is so scuffed. To my understanding Corey shouldn't have drawn any card off those skull clamps due to the rest in peace.

Man why does no one crew Shorikai? Maybe he could have forced lincoln to chump with his flyers before his life total got so low.
