The thing with Hikaru is simply that he is a personality, and a truly interesting player. I think that chess could be such a fantastically interesting thing if more players had a channel/platform which they could stand on. 27:46 I think Pragg is mathematically eliminated no? He has 6 points and can reach a maximum of 8 points, while Gukesh, Hikaru and Nepo have 7.5 points. Hikaru will play against both Gukesh and Nepo, and a decisive game between Hikaru and Gukesh/Nepo means one of those 3 players would reach 8.5 points. The other alternative is Hikaru drawing both games, and in that scenerio Hikaru would reach 8.5 points anyway. Hikaru playing against both of the other co-leaders means Pragg is mathematically eliminated.

@@07LightlessYou are right because no matter what One of the three will get 8.5 anyhow. While Fabi is mathematically still there, he is likely not going to win. Other players are not going to clear the way for him. Right now, IMO Gukesh has the highest chances among the three, since he is against Ali who is not focused these days, especially the day after he defeated Gukesh. What an exciting set of tournaments! I'm enjoying these recaps thoroughly. Really glad you're showing all the games and not skipping relatively uneventful draws (though there hasn't been that many of those really). So glad both the open and women's is being held at the same time. And both are putting on a great show! Is it possible that both could end in ties for first? How would they decide? Is there a fast format playoff procedure, or is it determined by some formula or who beat who earlier, etc?
Another great recap! Watching these brilliant minds play is so instructive. They're capable of so much. Thanks for guiding us through them!

Glad to see some advertisements on the channel. Can watch or skip on my own terms. Hope you get to go on a nice vacation. These are fun to watch!
Actually Qd7 was only missed by Alireza as Hikaru explained his thought process behind the move Rxc5 in his recap. Apparently Qd7 was the sole reason he spend so much time in this move. It is mind blowing
Levy, we have reached that point where I log into FIDE Website to check the pairings and then wait for you to upload the recap to see what happened in these matches! Massive respect my man! if you're still in Toronto, I hope I'll run into you around the harborfront on the weekend :D
your thumbnails from the beginning of the tournament to now as it gets closer to the end have slowly and slowly become more and more crazy. Looks like a blogger who has been slowly losing their mind lol. great videos btw
There's a reason you're the best creator, keep it up levy!
What a tournament this has been. Can't wait for the final 2 rounds
Levy i love your videos the way you recap the candidate is awesome and unique cheers buddy Saludos desde oaxaca mexico ❤
Man, you are a great content creator! In the past ( no precise time period, just from memory ) you had some annoying moments ( subjective opinion ) here and there, but you were still pretty good at what you do. In the last idk infinite videos, you are just good... better even! Nothing annoying just good content, clever jokes, great chess gameplay info and amazing presentation! Thank you for the consistency and for making our ( well 'my' ) days that much better with your videos.
Gukesh is also really good at freestyle chess. Which means a lot!
hi Levy! i've been a subscriber for at least 3 years, love ur content, love the courses, i own 2 of them, but in these recap videos i constantly have to pause and rewind, you go through moves so fast
Thank you for that random Miles Jury vs. Cowboy Cerrone reference 😆🤘 Such a legendary combo!!
What a set up for the final two days. They are gonna be intense!!! Can't wait
Your commentary is so great, has me on the edge of my seat
10:37,i just happened to check in on the game in that exact moment.. Hikaru's reaction was awesome .
The organizers nailed the last round pairings!!
