Winkowski Trucks & Volcano Deck, Day 1 Ride Review
There are many unboxing videos but not so much in ride reviews. Hope it’s what you are looking for
I like shape decks! This is not my 1st shaped deck but I have been excited to ride this deck and trucks so I took it out to my local in Florida
The extra width gives more room for error and I really like that I don’t hit my fingers on my front trucks when nose grabbing. The concave is sick! I have the Missle 2 concave on my Meek Slasher Santa Cruz as well and I progressed a ton on it with grinding. That made it exciting that it was a new deck but yet similar to one of my fav!
The trucks are Erick’s 159 Stage 11 Hollows! Super light. I have one pair of 159’s but classic. Typically I ride 169’s on 10” decks but I went with what he rides to try it out. After the 1st test, I feel I will need the Indy Hard bushings as normal because I weight 195-205lbs and like transition but for now I’m riding stocks! I like the color design and how you can read 8Baller on one and Winkowski on the other
Wheels & Bearings: Not new or a Santa Cruz brand- Bones 58mm wheels are what I have so I tossed them on. I may try my 58mm Spitfires or get some of Winkowski’s wheels to make for a complete EW setup. I saw he rides 60-61mm in his Product Pillage video. Bearings, Bronson ceramics!
I hope to do a follow up review in a month. I skate almost daily so I’ll have a better feel for the setup then. Today my local’s pool coping was being redone by Pain Skateparks so I just hit some frontside grinds, some Rock n Rolls and grabbed my nose while kick turning the taco. I stayed doing the same techniques and usual lines to get a good feel and I absolutely loved it!

Love the Winkowski decks, I have 2. I ride one with Indy 8Baller 159's and the other with Thunder 151's. They each offer a unique experience. Glad I stumbled across your channel.

It's a really nice deck! Thanks for the video! Really nice grip tape art! I am thinking about getting one and using it as a surfskate with a Carver CX truck.

That is one dope grip job on that deck. Also thanks for this super helpful review. For the bushings the black 94 Duro Independent cushions may be better for you. I’m portly and I had to go with the yellow cushions but since you’re under 200 the 94 Duro should be better.
I got this board to ride after decking out the saint and sinners creature Winkowski deck and then not having the heart to skate it. Im 210lbs so I had to go with harder bushings and I also chose to ride 169s vs 159s because Im not Eric Winkowski and chose to go what fits me best vs what he rides and I tend to like a wider truck for stability. So far I just been using it as a cruiser around my work and apartment but plan on getting out to the skate park soon with a friend of mine and carve some bowls. These decks really do feel great. I wear a size 13 shoe so I need that extra width up front. I have another santa cruse 80s style board thats 9.75 or some shit and thats barely rideable for me, theres no way I could ride a popsicle deck like I did in my teens.

Looks a little margic carpet ride, are 169 legal on these? I know winkoswki uses 159 but wouldnt 169 look better?

I got 169's on mine and some slimmer wheels, spitfire classic shape 55 mm. They barely show on the tail side, no risers needed.

I just switched out my 159s for 169s and added rails. I’ll see how I like sliding in the Wink and 169 difference

I ended up not buying this deck and getting a couple of scram decks. The shape is weird AF, but i still have not set them up.
