When his partner said "it's okay to be scared". This is perfect as it allows the child to feel whatever he or she needs to feel without judgment. Many people say "don't worry", or "it's okay, there is no need to be scared" This type of language sends a message to the child that it is not okay to be afraid or to feel whatever they're feeling and can lead to inauthentic behaviour and emotional repression later in life. Thank you... This is a wonderful example of giving space to a child in order to allow them to develop with minimal interference. Only intervening when the child expressed a need for physical and emotional support.

I have to admit to say "stop beeing worried, I'm here. I'll catch you!" or "Stop crying! nothing happened." to calm the situation without even realizing, It may lead my children to think "The way I feel is wrong" and this may result in something like "I'm wrong". Thank you for sensitize me with your comment!

I wish i knew of Wim Hof 15 years ago. I look up to him so much, he's so inspiring to me
5:23 is my favourite moment, when the kid just says "No" when Wim goes to help. He knows his limits and capabilities clearly and he knows he wants to do this himself. It's such a confident "No". Every person, young or old, instinctively knows how to behave around their edge. Those instincts have to be protected

Thanks a lot for pointing that out. Really great point! 👏
"Thank you Noonie for showing me! " 🥲 So sweet Wim
People think that when you get older you loose deep connection within your self I'm a teenager and I still go threw my own stuff but age doesn't define your problems happiness is free love is free at any age, Wim climbing that tree helping his kid shows no matter the age you can always help be in the moment giving love
In the Corporate Age, being a real human being is a revolutionary act.
Wim should make a day in life video showing him doing "normal stuff" like going to the market etc... Would be entertaining to watch 🌛

Also when you was a true rolemodel and climbed high after helping your son, then i think he forgot all his previous fears and got excited to go more. This is the way of a real alpha leader. Without showboating, just natural stuff. We need more of those and in the right positions.

why should it be rated? Why would one need to be the Alpha? Lets just be equals without a ranking :)
My kids teach me more than I can ever teach them. I overcame anger, I can now meditate anytime re center, and Start from a place of love not fear. Hold love in your heart and they will feel it too.
It's natural instinct for children to climb tree's, explore, test etc. For a parent suppress that instinct is harmful for the child's development and self-esteem. Love from Australia
00:55 how true is that! I was always climbing things, falling off and bruising bits but like you say, it’s character building and utilises parts of the growing brain that just aren’t used by today’s generation of mollycoddled children. Nowadays, children are busy being bullied, abused and brainwashed online instead of just being children outside, where they could be learning the invaluable skills of resilience, problem solving and confidence. BTW, what a cute kiddo 😊
Times change....60 ..plus years ago..it was a natural thing to just go out and play...we were sent out...no parents to watch over us.. We got on and learned ..sometimes the hard way...parents were busy keeping house and providing...no mod cons etc...as one of five siblings we were told to go out and come back for dinner ..shared bath water and shared bed in a house with no heating except one fire...hey ...we were so happy ..and free..❤🤞
I heard this recently that's a warm, wonderful, truth to me, "Love, is the glue to solution". ✨🎯✨💗✨😍✨🌈✨
Definitely need this one, I have 3 homeschooled autistic children and zero outside help, just us constantly 24/7

Hello. Just trying to help: search for autism saw as an autoimmune disease. There's something about the diet that triggers it, and look into it may help.
I’m 66 and still love tree climbing Love nature
100% agree. I was raised by my great-grandparents who were born in the early 1900s.We were allowed to run in the woods all summer and play in the lake. Now my kids think I'm crazy if I let their younger sister climb up a tree. Why? I let you do it too and you're fine!
Wim's vibes are too fucking good.
We have a nearly 3 year old boy, he is everything to us... My partner (dad) is very protective of everything he does , even clambering around on the sofa , I since found out why he's to scared of our little boy climbing, so when my partner was a teenager, one of his friends little brothers (toddler age) was climbing on a big set of drawers, the whole thing has fallen on top of him , 😔 an he didn't survive.... It's absolutely sad an so tragic.. but I keep trying to reassure my partner our little boy will be safe aslong as you are right beside him .. 😔
I feel out of a tree a tree at 8. It certainly taught me the value of considering the consequences. I still remember how it hurt. It's great he's got you to guide him down the tree as that's the hard part.
The power of the mind and having a healthy relationship to fear and other emotions.
Thank you, exactly what I needed this evening. Today was an exhausting day with my handicapped adult son. Love and peace, Jessica
Wim is a great teacher.
Thank you for everything you do beautiful soul
Wim my name is Dinara i from in Tashkent Uzbekistan u are realy respect man👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️ come to Tashkent❤️
Oh Wim. You have a Tarzan in training there. So the apple does not fall far from that tree! What a beautiful little man your son is. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you.. hope u keep posting more like these. Your one my 3 wisest living men! and I'm raising at the same time..myself and my joy boy jaxson who is one year younger than your son and my lack of life experience and recent life awaking I'm 42 years around the sun and in need of your parenting expertise with my son lol . Thank you for all you do you are changing lives.. forever grateful..
My childhood friend and I would climb 80 foot Eucalyptus trees when we where 8 years old. The higher I climbed and the more focused I was the more fearless l became. When I got to the top and looked down I was scared shitless. It took me five minutes to climb up and thirty minutes to climb down. I could have fallen just as easily on the way up as on the way down. 90% of fears is just your mind playing tricks on you. A wise man once told me FEAR is just False Evidence Appearing Real. Win handled the situation pertect.
So cool to see him work with his kid!
Oh my god, this is so cute I had to watch it 3 times!😍 Our parents also let us climb trees and run around barefooted. I am 36 now and I still enjoy doing both🙃
That is every dad when left with their kid.just "ohhhh there you are!" 🤣🤣
You are 100% correct Wim. He is adorable and cute! 💟
I like to let them know they can do it themselves, that they are capable, that they don't always need help.
Be there for them. Great tip! ❤️ thank you wim!
Just gotta love this video! I'm always telling my 2 kids its ok to be scared, sometimes its even fun to be a little scared like on rides but long as they know your there for them. Let them push past any boundary they think they have.
Love is in the air when we let our kids live and be free. Thanks God I was raised like Wim Hof kids, playing in nature. Our kids need nature as we do. We are the change People. LoveHugs&Peace always wins.
“Little Wim! Time for your bath!” 🥶
So happy that you give us your opinion on this, thank you for everything ❤️
Your an awesome dad wim great work brother :) he's gonna be a top quality person right there :l
Entiendo lo que dice, me crié en el campo y en los montes de mi país, cruzando ríos profundos a caballo, puede haberme ahogado Sinembargo estoy aquí hay que tener un poco de suerte también! 🙋🏻♂️🇺🇾
I'm turning 40 soon and I was never allowed to do anything or climb trees. I 'm so happy to see such excellent attitude and presence of mind. I'm cold showering 2-5 minutes every day and recovering from PTSD. You have inspired me deeeply. I'm going to climb in tree tomorrow when noone is there to see.. :-P All best to you and your family.
Can't even remember how many times i went through this exact scenario with my son! luckely, as a rockclimber, i like climbing trees too :-) And now me and my son have amazing times together in the climbing gym!!
Whenever I see Wim my breathing automatically changes lol
It s ok to be scared ...I love that!!!
Thanks for sharing I'm a young man pushing 49 and I have four children ranging from2-18and I'm still learning.

What a great video! So sweet also, thank you Wim!
I love this so much and so very true! Unless they are not putting themselves in danger let them play and be free!
Super duper Wim, our daughter starts cycling on the road and loves boldering at Monk in Amsterdam north. Thanks for the mindset, resonating deeply. She is already trained in ice baths and deep breathing , I will help her understand the parallels: relax, trust and step through limiting beliefs with ❤️ and courage

Loved this. It was so healing to watch how gracefully and lovingly you handled the situation. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing such precious wisdom. 😇
Nice perspective, Wim! I think this one's a big one already! 😎
I cannot fit it inside my head how a parent can keep his emotional distance from the most precious being they have on planet earth so they don't interfere with their freedom, while being there for them at any point in time 150% emotionally available. Now THAT'S a skill.

I would describe it as exactly knowing what is needed for your child to be a happy strong and healthy person, once you know you can’t just ignore it and you automatically don’t listen too much to your thinking mind

Wow! First day on a bike and riding like a pro! Amazing! Wim’s the IceMan and his son is the BikeMan. 😀
Grande Wim ! Congratulazioni per la rua fantastica famiglia from Italy
Great 👍🏻
My daughter earlier in her 3s would climb and get into situations with no fear, in parks for 5+ yos. As she gets older her fear and anxiety has been overtaking her in social situations and the same things she was great at climbing now has a hesitation to them. Fear and anxiety is our thinking taking over and pausing is, but letting go is the answer for so much of this.
Kool dad! One day i may become one
Geweldig!

Not nessecarily a antique bike. This type of bike is pretty much the standard bike here in the Netherlands. They're still being mass produced. Though the one without the horizontal crossbar is generally a woman's model
