I had a combination FUT/FUE transplant of 2400 grafts at a reputable flagship company for hair restoration. I only had about 800 grafts grow back after the initial hair loss at the 1-month mark, so only a 33% success rate for grafts. I'm at 14 months now, so I'm about out of time for any future improvement. I have healthy doner hair, and the grafting was less dense than most procedures. The company doesn't know why my grafts didn't grow back. But it sucks because I paid 12k for almost no improvement in my appearance.

Man, that sucks. Most reputable clinics guarantee the growth of the grafts, or they will fix the work for free. I know Dr. Dan McGrath my surgeons guarantees the growth of the grafts. I mean sure, not every single graft will grow, but it shouldn’t noticeable that a large percentage of grafts didn’t grow…

It's okay to call out bad doctors and clinics. In fact you should do that. Call them out.

I was told by one surgeon that I was not a good candidate for fut, and I needed fue. I was then told by another surgeon that I was not a good candidate for fue, and I need fut. It's very strange, especially considering that the clinic who told me I was not a good candidate for fut is known for pushing fut.

Interesting... this would explain why I never really saw any results from my fue procedure. My last fue procedure was in 2014 about 4 months after I got scalp micro pigmentation over my head. And I've thought that possibly the reason fir the poor results could have been from the micropigmentation when it could have been this or both. Now almost 10 years later I have a lot of thinning in areas I got transplanted. Do you recommend any clinics. I've been thinking about eugenics in India or a place in turkey, but really not sure yet since I'm located in the u.s.

I’m super happy with my results from Dr. Dan McGrath in Austin, TX. A bunch of my friends have had surgery with him as well at my recommendation and have all had excellent results and thanked me.

@@GetLocklab I'll look into it. The problem with the states I'd it's so expensive. That's why I'm thinking of going to another country for it. But most importantly is that it's done right

@@IntroducingMrLucci I really don't know if it did, but I really don't see much results from it, maybe it's because I didn't get that much done in that session and maybe I just naturally thinned more in that area, but I've received a lot of graphs in the area in multiple sessions but it's still a little thin, I need to get one more session and I think I'll be good, but I have to find the best place to do it

Dr. Mwamba asked me if he could work on me again, and Dr. McGrath doesn’t do body hair transplants. Dr. McGrath is still my personal first choice for a hair transplant. Of all the surgeons who have worked on me his work has turned out the best.

Robotic hair transplants are generally not very good. I've never met anyone who's had a good experience with one.

It seems like even the doctors who use robots admit that it's not the best option. I've never had a hair transplant, but I had a consultation with a surgeon who does both FUT and FUE. The problem is that his FUE surgeries are performed with an ARTAS robot, whereas his FUT surgeries are performed without a robot. He admitted to me that he thinks FUT is the gold standard, and his own hair was transplanted using FUT. It's usually a good sign if the surgeon is also a patient because then they know how much of a life-changing experience it is. He admitted that hairs transplanted using FUT have a better survival rate. What I don't understand is why he uses FUE (with ARTAS) as a strong advertising point for his clinic. Shouldn't he advertise his FUT option just as much, if not more? He seems like an honest doctor, which is hard to find in this industry. He could sell LLLT devices at his clinic if he wanted, but he chooses not to because he doesn't think that they work.
