I so truly supports this. When I started 23 years ago I had the choice of minoxidil or finasteride. I know really little about which to choose but I choose finasteride because I knew that taking a pill everyday I could handle. I have even bought minoxidil several times and stopped in front of the mirror. Why? Because I was honest to my self and said “no you won’t be able to be compliant and do this every day (2 times) for the rest of your life. This is also why I skipped microneedling. Lazer helmets etc etc. for sure they would have helped. But would I had been able to keep them up? Most likely not. Hell i have even skipped days and weeks of finasteride due to misplacing a sheet of pills or forgot to book time for a new prescription renewal. Still I have taken finasteride more or less compliant now for 23 years and kept most of my hair from the day I started taking it

I think a lot of guys believe they are getting a good application, but even if you are pretty good you’re never going to get the perfect coverage that you’d get from oral. I wonder what the cumulative effect over several decades would be of getting, say 80% of the way there each day vs 100% perfect “application” each day from oral.

Exactly. Reason I backed out of starting minoxidil (3 times) was that I was almost good enough. I could with fibers and styling cover the front hairline. Now I am at a point after 23y of halting it with finasteride (with some stupid breaks) where it’s border line working. So for me it’s transplant or try minoxidil. I know I don’t have the discipline for laser / microneedling. And regarding transplant and the current advances in healing / non scarring meds. That looks promising I prefer to postpone any operation a few years. So that leaves me with oral or topical minoxidil to try. As I am talking only front hairline band to thicken up (maybe use on beard as well if I am going to start it) It might work. But even with such “easy / non messy” scenario I am reluctant as I know myself and how easy it will be in the morning saying “nah I skip it… just this time”

Been on topical minoxidil for over 13 years everyday (once a day at night) . And i didn't miss a single day . And it works great alongside oral finasteride. And yes once a day is enough for topical minoxidil. Twice a day is slightly better but not necessary. Anyway it's possible and i did it for 13 years already and don't plan to ever switch to oral minoxidil 😊.

it's not just that people aren't complying with topical minoxidil, it's also that the response rate is under 50%. Oral minoxidil fixes that too

Yes, correct, many people don’t have the enzyme needed for topical minoxidil to actually work its effect.

What are your stance about oral minoxidil? This is actually a form where I have heard negative no nonsense complains about sides from reliable sources? My fear here lies in how it could affect the heart. This sides compared to say other sides (real or not) could actually affect your life for real. I know you support it still what is your take on the supposed heart risks?

He's covered it many times and the company he's affiliated with has a finasteride/minoxidil combo pill which is what he takes and has been taking for years now. I think it's 1 mg fin and 5 mg of minoxidil

@@geneticfreak84 yes still i feel they never covered the heart issue brought up by others. Of course i have seen the other clips here. Otherwise i world not had asked. And yes of course they are ok with it priming their pill. That is actually why i would have a video addressing why they are confident it’s no risks. So like a deeper reassuring answer. By THEM.

@@litjellyfish I have been taking the same pill combination that's in Locklab for 4 years now. For the first month, I had heart palpitations but those stopped and have never returned. However, that is based on my personal health. If you are concerned you may want to see a doctor before and during the time you took the pills if you opted to go that route.

@litjellyfish There are have been over 1300 patients now who have gotten on what is now Locklab ( Locklab.co ) 5MG per-day oral minoxidil 1.1mg finasteride, 1MG biotin combo pill, including myself, three of my brothers, and most of my personal friends. None have had any heart issues. Literally, not a single one that I know of. That said, everyone reacts differently to medication, but I wouldn't be taking it recommending my friends and family get on it if I had any reason to suspect it was dangerous for them or me to do so.
