Why you should learn "Every Time I Die" riffs on guitar!

Музыка

This is a new concept video where I explore why you should learn guitar riffs by the band Every Time I Die. I go into a few songs that I like and show how they are played as well as talking about the band and their music.
What do you think of this kind of video? Which band should I cover if I do more of these videos?
Please consider subscribing :)

Every Time I Die has more cool riffs in a single song than most of the bands in their whole carrier.

Your playing is so on point. The rhythms and picking patterns can get really intricate and confusing and you totally nail it. I’ve been a huge ETIDiot since Hot Damn! and really appreciate when people recognize them as more than just a sick hardcore band and see the absolute riff factory that Andy and Jordan were.

Great video! Would love to see a Part 2, especially for songs where they broadened their use of tunings (Drop A in particular), or if you have thoughts on why a song is in one particular tuning vs another. Also, it would be fun to see you break down/explain a song between Jordan and Andy's parts - showing how they fit together into a cohesive song.

Everytime I Die songs are great to learn because of the very weird timings and rhythms in their tunes! Hot Damn! is one of my all time favorite albums but it was a HUGE pain in the ass to learn ALL the parts to ALL the songs! ETID riffs, for the most part, aren't very difficult but the fills, breakdowns, and part changes usually take multiple listens to get the timing down! Another band/album that I always recommend people learn songs from is Between the Buried & Me album "The Silent Circus!" It's a LOT more technical than ETID's stuff but it will absolutely help you with your playing! BTBAM has the same weird fills and rhythms and super technical parts that helped me with speed and stamina BIG TIME PS: ETID's Romeo A Go Go, Off Broadway, and I've Been Gone A Long Time played in succession is prob the most fun you can have as a guitar player

I was big into metalcore as a teenager and had such a great time learning these songs and playing along in my bedroom, because of that ETID is pretty much the only metalcore band that I still follow, the creativity and experimentation they brought to the genre was just immense. Way different technique involved than what I learned via Met/Goj. So I wouldn't be upset if you ever did some either some tutorials on ETID songs or just a video about their general play style/skills required to practice to be able to play their songs.

If everything I do is wrooohooooong then by god, I'll do it right. Every Time I Die is just something else, man. Such a good band ("underrated", as people would no-doubt-ably say... I say highly rated enough by a certain group of people to have them continue doing crazy / unexpected stuff over the years. A little like Converge, Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan... An acquired taste, but once they getcha, you're hooked for life. Albums like Hot Damn! (ETID), Jane Doe (Converge), Calculating Infinity (Dillinger Escape Plan), or Norma Jean's 1st album can be difficult to get used to when you're not used to the seeming chaos. But it's so worth it
