Why Women Are NOT Actually That Picky - Dating Psychology

Women are not nearly as picky when looking for a partner as you may think, and I’ll prove it to you with both psychology and statistics.
You may have seen these TikToks of young ladies being asked some basic questions of what they ideally want to find in a guy, such as exact age, height, annual income, and they are then told the probability that they will find that guy, which is usually next to no chance at all. However, that so called test is not actually accurate because you can get virtually anyone to have a nearly 0% percent probability by simply asking them more questions. Just ask them more questions, such as do you want him to have a college degree? Do you want him to have a low, medium, or high IQ? City, suburbs, or country? Obese, average, or fit? You keep giving someone more choices to choose from and they will eventually have nearly a 0% chance of finding that person.

    great video. i'm a woman and i agree, women are picky... on a dating app, or when they don't know the guy. i always thought of myself as an "unlovable person", but then i realized that i don't have a male friend nor i have many real life hobbies! the advice in the end of the video is good. i think more people should act like that.

    So actually most of the time, because women prefer the romantic relationships to start as a romantic relationship instead of transitioning from a friend to boyfriend. So most of the time you are the unkown guy, so they are picky. Regardless of apps.

    It's also a fact that a man has to earn his opportunity to mate, or his lineage goes extinct. A woman only has to say "yes", when asked, for her own genetic lineage to carry on. The female is the gatekeeper of reproduction. Rejection is existential for a male. The vast majority of men that ever lived throughout history, have died as virgins. Only until the advent of monogamous marriage did that begin to change. But that concept of marriage is fading too.

    Something you miss in this analysis. While familiarity bias is real, it does not account for women leaving the overwhelming majority of relationships. While the number fluctuates, the rule of thumb that 50% of marriages end in divorce. Women are hypergamous, and a plethora of them are always looking for better than what they have. A minimum wage 5'5 guy who is charming and in a woman's social circle does not have anywhere near the sway of a 6'0 tall six figure earner on a dating app. In fact, if she believes she can trade up for the other, she most likely will.

  • @katherinew.8201

    @katherinew.8201

    If a woman is gonna trade what she has for an illusion, she wasn't a good woman anyway to begin with. Anyone can do this, i've seen men do it to their wives with romance scams. Sometimes you choose the wrong one. Better vetting procedures before marriage is a must. Social apps are a major red flag, if she can't do without them then she can do without the ring.

    You saying that dating apps are in the business of keeping people single, reminds me of Cosmopolitan's notoriously bad sex advice. They sell more magazines when women are looking for tips to get a man than they do when they're in a happy relationship, so it's not in their interest to recommend things which promote that. That's how you get stupid advice in Cosmo such as "When giving oral sex, use your teeth" - ouch! And Yikes!

    I believe men start this whole picky stuff and then when a woman changes her looks surgically or naturally she becomes picky because now she has a whole lot more options. Guys like big butts or big breasts but don't want a woman to have these assets and be fat. The say they want a skinny woman but majority of skinny women either have no butt or flat chested then they complain about that lol. Lastly you get a female that is slim but gets plastic surgery to get big breasts or big butt (things that men love) then that woman is called a 304 for the streets plastic fake etc. guys have unrealistic standards. Even if a skinny woman has the assets a man wants in a natural one that's very rare two a man's insecurities would most likely turn narcissistic or ruin the relationship from all the attention she gets from men. What's odd it's mainly the men who themselves aren't even much of a catch a 5 at the most.

    There's also two parts that are important here: a) innocent ignorance and b) bad (potentially "bad faith") question framing. a) You can see that some of these women are practically fledglings with next to zero real-life understanding; that's OK, we've all been far less cognizant of the world at their age than in our age, regardless of gender. Take, for instance, the girl who seemingly doesn't grasp how 5' 9" is vastly different from 6'. In the metric system, that's 76.2 mm apart; btw, 3" is the unit described as a palm (the span across your four fingers, from one side of the palm to the other). Then there's all the others who blurt no less than 50k annual income or more, with the rather striking case of the one assuming minimum wage nets you a whopping 100k! Yeah, this is clearly a case of misconception or misinformation, rather than anything else, or, at the very worst, of a genuine brain fart. b) The problem with the question itself is asking them about an ideal partner. We could equally be asking people what their ideal housing be, and most people would likely list so many implausible criteria that the likelihood of getting them would be even slimmer. If you then go ahead to use this as proof of people being unrealistic about their choice of housing, that's in bad faith, because "ideal" anything is inherently not the most realistic prospect, but the one you'd like to get if it was possible to get it within your means.

    The women choose "6'" because to them that's a nice round number, but what they really mean is "taller than me, when I'm in heels." She can't even really envision the difference between 5'9" and 6', because both are taller than her. In fact, unless she's constantly around people who are 6' tall, she wouldn't even know how much shorter someone who is 5'9 would be. Hell, I'm 5'10" and people have mistaken me for 6'. Also, I've known plenty of dudes who can pull tail even though they're short. Hell, plenty of big time Hollywood actors are under 5'7".

  • @RaspK

    @RaspK

    @@romxxii It's not like 5' 9" is short, either. My wife keeps telling me I am nearly too tall for her at a little over 5' 10" (179 cm), and loves crooning under my chin when we have some privacy standing next to each other. I got early hypothyroidism at around 9 or maybe even earlier, and what the doctor who finally diagnosed it told me is that I would most likely had been in the ballpark of 6' 4" (190-195 cm). When she heard that, her words were: "That would had made you *_too_* tall for me!"

    I used to be part of the whole "red pill" propaganda. After I stopped watching red pill content, I lost 50 lbs, gained a bunch of muscle from the gym, made more money, cured my low-key gaming addiction which now I haven't played more than 30 minutes at a time every couple of months or so (mostly Forza and Chivalry 2, lol). And I traveled to 3 new places in less than 8 months, including 2 separate continents. Leaving the red pill shows you the real world. Getting out and actually experiencing the world is way better than being chronically online. I used to think girls would never like me. To a degree, there have been girls that I liked which didn't reciprocate, but that's fine. There have been a few girls that I kinda liked (in terms of personality and even looks), but I realized I'm not ready to settle down yet because I want to accomplish more and being financially stable before having a wife and kids. Trust me, life gets 10x better after leaving the red pill. Sure, I'm not completely anti-red pill. I have taken some good points with me, like looking for physiological red flags, and wanting a more traditional woman, but outside of that, the red pill rabbit hole was just straight up poisoning me with false beliefs, and breaking out from that content cycle has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

    I don't know if this is satire, but it looks like it. If You are serious here is a quesiton. Why would women describe the most dangerous traits on a man as a barrier against strangers? A wealthy, tall, strong man is as dangerous as it gets. And they never ask about what they look for in apps, in those interviews thay ask what they look for in a man, period. Not only that, their list is not meant to protect them from strangers, quite the opposite, it is a list of requirements that a stranger needs to fulfill to go out with them without any other check on character, Quality, morals or intentions. This is exactly why they always end up pumped and dumped, they always open their legs for every man that checks all the boxes on their superficial list.

    Sorry doc, you've got it wrong. The last thing you want is for a woman to get to know you and like you - that means you become her friend. Another dude, who is bad and aloof, will be supplying her sexual needs and you're just being used. This has been the story of my life. So yes, make no mistake, women are picky. The whole point of the friend zone is to "shelf" a guy as she seeks out better.

    Also strange and dangerous men? Women on average are much more dangeorus, they just don't get caught or charged.

    I wish this was true but it just isn't. Women want it all and they constantly hop from one guy to the next thinking the grass is greener. Very few women are willing to date under 6'. They are very self conscious about mens height. They want that instant gratification to brag to their girlfriends about their mans height. It's about status to her. The next thing is money and that varies person to person. But the 6' rule is the absolute minimum to get a date these days.

    I meet my husband at work. I've been working with him nearly 4 month. We started dating and here we are 13 years later having a daughter together. That was my second chosen one😅. He's nr rich, do not look like Keanu Reeves 😂 and yet he makes me laugh. So I don't know.

    I gave everyone a shot, I they asked my interests but went from 0 to 100 reeeeall fast Like this guy and I both liked space, and I was like cool :D Then he was like *kiss hand* my love!!!1! The next sentence Well, I'm sorry, but I'd like to be your friend before you start making googley eyes. Maybe I should start being picky when it goes 0 to 100 for that >_> I accepted all my matches, but finding one that I get along with and get to know 😩

    Would be willing to bet the girl saying 6 ft has dated mostly 5'7-5'10. She has no clue of the average height of most men. Never been on a dating app myself, so would be willing to bet I'm not alone.

    what happened to this guy?! you would think with all crime and new woke stuff that this guy would have tons of content, but he's turned into another one of those once a month uploaders with a 5 minute video, also has Derek's energy changed, i use to enjoy listening to him but lately not so much, just not feeling the vibe.

    I found my partner of 7 years on a dating app. My advise to guys would be to actually write something in your bio that tells us about you. When I was swiping of course looks came into it but then, even the most physically attractive guys, if their bio was blank or said something short or stupid I'd be like nope. But then guys who were I guess sort of more regular with a good bio I'd want to talk to. Also it gives me something to you about. I'd do the same thing with my bio. At least then the opener could be some banter about interests and not just "hey how are you"
