Amazing!!! I watched the original video hundreds of times, it was a huge source of inspiration for me. I love Bernd Heinrich as a biologist and writer and seeing him as an excellent runner adds even more admiration for this great human being! I'm so grateful for this extended version! Thank you Salomon, good job!

These short films are a thing of beauty and are also criminally underwatched. People do not know what they are missing. Thank you Salomon!
I thought I wanted to be Kilian Jornet when I grew up. Now I want to be Bernd Heinrich! Beautiful film Salomon!

Read his books, all of them. LEGEND
I ran with Bernd Heinrich when he was young and he was a tough son of a gun rarely running slower than 6 minutes per mile. He won races too. If he could have had some world class coaching, he probably could have been one of America's best runners. -- I saw him tonight on the PBS news hour. I can't believe that after two knee operations and at 81 years old he is still cranking out those runs. -- Most everyone I know who has had knee operations because of age related arthritis has never been able to get back into running. He is an iron man. I should call him to go for a run. I miss those times.
What a fascinating human being! I hope this inspires more Bernds to come into the world.
I am currently reading one wild bird at a time. It is a very good read. I work as an arborist in Montana and always love getting to the top of a tree and getting it to sway as much as I can . it's good to see you enjoy doing that as well !
brilliant man
I love this one, and “Of Fells and Hills”.......calming and inspiring.....touching on what we really miss....🦋
This video was very moving and inspiring to see what a simplistic and individualistic life could be possible in the modern era.
These are exactly the things that were in my head omg Running is life. Love y'all guys
Rockn in the tree tops all the day long...love it
There are few people on this planet i would love to run with and have coffee with...Bernd Heidrich is one of them. Love his home and attitude of life.
Dear Professor Heinrich, thank you for sharing your story. 😊
Salomon has inspired me for many years, every video is a masterpiece and makes you want to go out and "play"! This video is amazing, it shows the simple lifestyle and the connection with nature, something we tend to lose once caught up in modern society. Thank you Salomon for making these videos and for making us go out and play!

Thoroughly facinating. Such a basic question we all ask. The answers are emotional and indeed inspire. I simply want to go out and run.

Very good film btw
A mio avviso uno dei più belli mai trasmesso da Salomon running tv (così si chiamava il canale qualche anno fa) assieme a "on the road" con Rikey Gates. Lo spirito puro del running. Andatelo a cercare. Allora (season 03-04) trasmettevano veramente bei cortometraggi con cadenza mensile e si aspettava con ansia l'uscita in programma.
This dude rules
I know that the couple of my life is among the people who liked this video.

“Birds are made to fly, but they are not gonna fly and cross the ocean unless there is a reason for it”
Does anyone know where to find En subs for this?
Hey- all the sports games are cancelled but I bet this guy is still out there running

Subtitles are too small and run too fast. What's the race?
10:58 - is there an official category for a 200km race?? 🤪😵
Is this recent footage? The guy is 79 and still running around and climbing trees?
