SOLIS | The North Face

Спорт

The Speed Project (TSP) is a 340-mile unsanctioned race from Santa Monica Pier to Las Vegas. It lives and dies by the motto: No Rules, No Spectators. Historically, a relay race, in 2021 TSP offered up the chance for individual runners to make the journey from LA to Sin City. The winner took 118 hours.
SOLIS follows The North Face Explorer Team runner James Poole’s 2022 attempt to run self-supported over Mount Baldy, survive the blazing heat of Death Valley, and make it to the finish at the famous Welcome to Vegas sign.

i got the same sensation when i go running by myself up in the mountains and i find some people on top of them and when they see me all by my own, i love seeing their reactions and then we became friends, i guess that´s the point, make some new friends outdoors, awesome video and congrats James, keep the hard work!

It was amazing getting to share the experience with you, James! And your attitude is spot on. Thanks for being a positive part of this for me, too.

Incredible. People who do these extremes are a special kind. Can't say I'd want to do it, but does make a good documentary. I know the training involved in just a marathon and ironman. This is at another level.

Watching u sat there at the finish ….. has made me realise exactly why I enjoy ‘events’ so much …… it’s defiantly the medal and t-shirt and all the bo@@ocks that goes with it ……. That said I totally and utterly understand ur whys ….. there just not my whys …… at least not at the moment 🫶🙏🫶

Good on ya, James. As a masters 800/1500m runner, these kinds of distances are incredible. But as a lifelong runner for 50 years, covering 50,000 miles, I can relate. Ditto the heat (since moving from Edinburgh to Spain four years ago). Very best wishes from Valencia.

There's no official race support, but there's also RV doing 8mpg driving behind the man (or maybe each participant). It's like a normal marathon, but less sustainable lol

Brilliant film! Amazing person! I get it - just run for the sake of it and take away all the paraphernalia that comes with marketed big events.

I don't know anything about the sport of running...but, isn'tit unusual to run on one's toes like he does? After I noticed that early on, I kept trying to get a clear view of it again, but couldn't. Anyway, It just seems it would put an awful strain on just part of the foot and also on certain calf muscles more than others. Anyway, great work, James!🏆

You are allowed to have a support vehicle/ mobile home? with supplies, water, popsicles, clothing etc. Ahh no rules. (what would a spectator know. about anything)

The audio is terrible on this. Way too loud compared to the voice of the runner.

Really folks? “Savage” at 1:52… we can do better. One quick edit would demonstrate more thoughtful filmmaking through anti racist methodologies.
