Why we need adversity - The Road of Trials Explained in The Hero's Journey (initiation in monomyth)
The Road of Trials refers to the next stage in The Hero's Journey (monomyth) which explains why we need adversity in our lives. The hero enters the unknown ( the supernatural domain) and has to overcome obstacles and challenges to reach his full potential. In the process, he has to make allies, form friendships, and become more self-aware. In addition to a series of examples in Brave, Inside Out, Soul, and Zootopia, we will discuss the meaning of the Road of Trials for practical purposes in our daily lives. We will examine real-life examples of people who overcame tremendous difficulty in their lives including David Gogins and Milton Erickson.

Mandelorian is pretty great for adventure and such.

Agreed. all of Star Wars is pretty heavy on the hero’s journey and that is a great point - the Mandelorian is a combination of Disney’s focus on good and engaging narration and Star Wars adventurous character.

Maybe
Zootopia had a series of disappearances, not murders. Also, the fox eventually has a similar journey as, because he's a fox, no one trusts him. his whole personality was built about this and he had to overcome it.

When they start ranting about david goggins i just tune out, he's just a narcissist motivated by a sense of superiority and every time someone strokes his erect ego that is what actually fuels him not the drive to improve or overcome adversity itself 😅
