There is extensive water erosion around the body of the lion and the excavated enclosure, but not the head. This indicates it dates back to a time when the now arid area had much more rainfall (or possibly major flooding). I suspect the original monument had a lion’s head to match the lion’s body. The pharaoh’s image (which lacks the erosion) was a re carving of the heavily eroded lion head, which explains why the head is a now completely out of scale compared to the much larger body. The damaged nose is simply from a more recent period of state ordered destruction/vandalism when many ancient Egyptian statues and carvings have had their noses hacked off. Possibly an attempt to hide a cultural/ racial attribute that a certain king/caliphate didn’t like.

Peace. As per research the lion body statue (currently known as the sphinx) is much older than the Pharaoh dynasty/era. The present head of the pharaoh is carved out of the original lion head. As a result the head is smaller than what it should be proportional to the body. The pharaoh era, it would seem, is built on older civilisation(s). Cats/lions have always been revered in this part of the world, even before the pharaohs. People arrived here and built their community around an old sacred site on the shores (travel & trade convenience). This is the case with nearly all archeological sites. There is also 'scientific' evidence apart from physical evidence showing multiple layers of history/civilisations on all such sites, be it Incas, Sumerians or Indus Valley, people prefer living & belonging to places with heritage/history for many reasons including superstition and ancestry. The pharaohs then built the pyramids on marked land aligned to the stars and other earth related magnetic phenomenon ( ; ) though that's.. another story)! Regards

I like how they (and most Egyptologists) completely ignore the fact that the Sphinx face is not weathered and worn at all in comparison to its body and the walls of the cavity in the ground. These extreme worn out areas are a sign that the Sphinx (at least body) is very much older than 4-5 thousand years like the claim. Many geologists have claimed the the water erosion on the side walls show tens of thousands of years of erosion. Also note that it had not rained in that desert for at least 7000 years. The best theory that I have heard is that the Sphinx was a lion carved tens of thousands of years ago before the Egyptians and at a later date the Pharaoh Khafre had his face carved on the lions head. That explains why the face shows almost no signs of the erosion that the body does. But no modern Egyotologists want to state anything that goes against what they are taught in school. There is also a VERY strong belief that the Pyramaids are also much older than the we are taught. Most likely built at the same time as the Sphinx. The Egyptians have NO recorded history of if or how they built the Pyramids, because most likely they didn't. They just settled in the area. I, and many others do believe that there was very advanced civilization prior to the global cataclysm that happened 12,600 years ago that whipped them out and they were responsible for many of the monolithic stone structures that we find throughout the world.

I do fully agree with you : differences in the erosion level of the Sphinx are explainable and excellent testimony to its very old age. The intense precipitations which occurred for the last time in a very remote age (around or before 10.000 BC) could not have had the same impact on the different types of stone surfaces: persistent and dense rain drops must have decayed the whole body in a more or less uniform way, whereas the perimeter walls were primarily affected by runoff waters stemming from the pyramids plateau; hence the deep vertical erosion channels of the western wall, precisely located in the main channel bed at the end of Giza plateau slope and the less important erosion traces on the southern wall. The Pyramids as such were not weathered in the same way thanks to the excellent protection offered by their perfect smooth stone casing at that time. These mere facts and undeniable can only lead us to infer that all these constructions must be much older than the officially acknowledged date...

It is, they know the truth about the sphynx but they obviously dont want to tell the truth to the world. It's much more deeper than that. Go read the emerald tablets of toth, it tells a different side of the story of who and how they created the sphynx and the pyramids. The Egyptians looked close to middle eastern with light brown to olive to tanned brown skin. The Egyptians painted Africans in hieroglyphics as pitch black and the native Egyptian as modern Egyptian skin tones. Look at the bust of Queen Nefertiti! To honor the age of Leo. It was most likely a lion, built in a prior Egyptian period over 14,000 years ago. There is water erosion all over the Sphinx indicating thousands of years of rainfall and flooding, no such flooding has occurred in Egypt for over 14,000 years.

@@Leo98110 The time period when the constellation Leo was positioned behind the sun. Never heard the song “This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius”? It’s referring to the same thing with a different constellation. The Sphinx was most likely a lion made at the very soonest 12-14,000 years ago.

I believe the sphinx is a garage for all of the equipment that was used to build it and the pyramids

The human head on a lions body symbolizes to me that the farro may have carved his likeness into a lion sculpture that was inherited by the Egyptians. I do t think the farro had anything to do with the original building of the sphinx. It was already their.

The Sphinx head had typically African features. Also those vandals could possibly have been the French using the Sphinx's nose as target practice with cannon balls. @School Work the nose is incredibly inaccurate. As is the skin color. Make up is correct, headdress is correct, beard is correct. If you compare the actual picture of the Sphinx today and the 3-D model, they pushed the lips down further so that they could put a long, thin nose. The lips are also thin in the model. Not accurate. Khafre was a black man with thick lips, a thick broad nose and dark brown skin. Not hard to see you can tell by the frame of his nose that he’s black.

Does the Sphinx being built at a lower elevation indicate it was built much, much earlier than the pyramids? Why don’t any pharaohs record building the Sphinx? Isn’t it likely the Sphinx was built when the Lion was the eastern feature of the sky during the equinox, about 10-11,000 years ago?

It's all theory

- Before the sphinx was coverd in some sort of plaster to protect it from detorriating any further a wheater pattern could be seen that could only be caused by heavy rain fall. - The last time such heavy rain fall occured in Egypt was +/- 10000 years b.c. - The oldest parts of the temple in front of the sphinx appear to be older than the 3 big pyramids, all the pieces of the temple that are from the same time as the 3 big pyramids are believed to be renovation/restoration work. - If you look at an arial picture of the 3 big pyramids of Giza they depict the position of the constalation of orion from +/- 10000 years b.c.? Archeologists always thought that the face of the sphinx represent the pharaoh Khafre. Frank Domingo, a New York Police Department forensic expert once compared the head on a small statue of the pharaoh Khafre with the head of the sphinx and concluded that they don't look alike. The forensic draftsman concluded after carefull research that the head of the sphinx most likely resembles an African individual (Nubian).

Its a mud fossil. It wasn't carved but layered to add on top of something else. Also note. There is a space/cavity behind the nose. You don't have that when you "carve" stone. And the MSM never covers that its much much older. They should look for layers of fossilized muscle and organs along with a DNA sample. Other large statues in Egypt show internal fossilized organs except these are over 20ft tall.

I visited the Sphinx Of Egypt when i 100%'d Assassin's Creed: Origins last year. MR

I feel the Pyramids were steam towers that used the extreme heat of the sun at the time, natural geysers and underwaters systems below Giza, the super conductivity of Gold and "cold stone effect" to create rain clouds to water the land as well as run off streams from the very surface of the pyramids itself. The only problem with my theory is the Nile River been a better source of water as against some unprecedented and expensive experiment. I think there could be a possibility that the Nile probably wasn't the same river we know today and the region itself could have been totally different from what we know today.

Disinformation. The middle pyramid represents Jupiter or Horus in Egypt. The Sphinx is Horus as a lion and it once had a beak since Horus is also seen as a falcon.

Does anyone know about additional reference to Colonel Howard Vyse and Nathaniel Davison, how much granite beams build the floor of 5 chambers. The drawings from Vyse and Davison show that following numbers: Davison's Chamber (9 Beams), Wellington's Chamber (8 Beams), Nelson's Chamber (9 Beams), Lady Arbuthnot's Chamber (9 Beams), Champbell's Chamber (8 Beams). Vyse is desputed. so a different reference would be helpful maybe visitors of the chambers this days.

If you see it this way then : Sekhmet has the body of a woman and the head of a Lion / while the Sphinx probably has the Body of a Lioness and the head of a man - You see , it's a Yin Yang - Yang Yin But of course we can never know for sure if that body is actually of a lion or a lioness. so ... it's just a dream and a lot of writing for nothing.

I agree that it was humans who built the pyramids and that thinking of Aliens is just so stupid. Those people who ask , How could egyptologists call them Just Tombs ? They were not Just Tombs as you said. But If someone asks me Could they be just tombs , I guess my million lightyears away answer would be to them, Could you be just a human being ? Meaning I know they are Tombs and you will not know until you visit Egypt. So even if it had all these magical powers, what if Tombs were designed in such ways at that time. I mean if you really think that your Pyramid power is all that good , wouldn't you want to be buried in one ? The final answer is you are a human being so am I, and those are Tombs even though we have so much to say about us and them. I hope you come and visit Egypt one day. I told you i have pyramids in my country that are huge but .not to insult mexico or you country.or any country that has allowed digging to be done in such holly places.we do not allow american or any kind of digging or disturbance of the dead we make enough dead on a daily basses to be woried about the past .however growing up there .i saw with my eyes .i was so small and my friends and i were verry curious as children we were not afraid of anything we went evrywhere.1979 we found a hole into the san andres pyramid in el salvador.we went under for at leat what felt like an hour crawling then it opened up into a tunnel 18 wheeler size there was air shafts allowing lights in .and strang giant size statues that gave off a type of illumanece.the tunnel se to go forever downwards and straight we went straight we heard like growling voices ran back to starting spot got out.i wish i could touch Egypt.i have been to lots of pyramids there is a power only you can wake it within you it is an all healing and knowing power kind of like your brain awakes to a new state of mind .evrytime i touch one .salam alehcam alllah apta

They make up some cat god worshipping story only by ignoring geological and historical facts: - The vertical water erosion on the walls - The fact, that the sphinx was not built during Kaphres reign, but renovated, which you can see in the distinct type of architecture - The fact, that although the head always stuck out of the sand, it is the least eroded part of the statue, while the body, which was buried in the sand for about 3000 years, shows the most erosion Again, because of these facts, I'm confident, that this documentary is bullshit.

Alice Vah Why did they paint depictions of themselves as olive skinned North Africans? Their tombs were full of such images. In fact Cleopatra was of Greek descent, a Ptolemy from the army of Alexander the Great and as such would have had light skin colour.

As for someone "breaking the noses from the sphinx to hide the creators' ethnicity" - do you have any proof of this? I'm pretty sure, like most ancient statues, the delicate nose is more susceptible to weathering and erosion as well as being mechanically unstable as a byproduct of the carving process. I honestly think you're pushing your own agenda here instead of looking at the basic facts. That is not how science should be done.
