This "mystery" has already been solved. His tomb was constructed hastily because, not only did he die YEARS before any other average Pharaoh, it was sudden and unexpected, as well. Meaning; they had from the time of his death until the standard mourning period of 70 days, (on average) ended and the, "opening of the mouth ceremony," took place just prior to sealing the tomb. That means, the new King, who had only taken the position of Pharaoh before the age of 10, even though he was already the ruling Pharaoh by the time of his death, probably had another, more elaborate, tomb being constructed somewhere else in the Valley of the Kings that would typically take decades to complete. It could have even been the tomb in which he was buried, and that's just all they had time to excavate by that point in his life, it's actually less clear. Either way, having only a few years to excavate, construct, carve, and decorate his tomb by the time I his death meant that he would have to have been buried within a very hastily completed tomb. It is hypothesized that the reason the reliefs carved into the four interior walls of his burial chamber are all of varying styles is because four teams of artists had a total of 70 days to finish each of their respective walls. What killed him is still a mystery. It could have been murder or just an accident, but had he lived longer than his 20-ish years, like most other Pharaohs, he would have undoubtedly been buried in a far more extensive and elaborate tomb. Luckily for us, (and him, really,) it's because his tomb was so small and seemingly insignificant that it managed to escape Millennia of tomb robbers, so that we, here in contemporary times, would be able to discover it untouched and intact. His premature death and hasty burial is actually the main reason for his "gift" to the modern world. And, that's a profound irony that's worth him becoming the most famous and well-known Egyptian Pharaoh in history. 👍

King Tut was filled with many issues due to inbreeding within the family. He died unexpectedly and given that the process of burial only gave about 90 days they had to complete it all. It takes over 30 years for a whole tomb to be completed. So these skilled craftsmen had to do 30 years of work in less than 90 days.

See I thought the same thing. They did tombs for each reigning king as the expectant life they have. King tut died so suddenly I would think they barley had enough time to get the paintings up before he was laid to rest. Plus he was a child, even for those times, so maybe they made it simple so he would get to the underworld much easier then a king who had been around for much longer.

Why was it completed quickly? Maybe because he died at an early age, unexpectedly, the workers didn’t have 30+ years to work on this like the older pharaohs. Because of this, the tomb had to be rushed for his burial, because without the ceremony Egyptians believed the Sun would not rise again.

It is also speculated that this was never meant to be his tomb at all. His successor Ay was his overseer during his 9 year reign and basically ran the country himself. His tomb is much more extravagant than that of Tut's and because of this, it is speculated that the tomb of Ay was actually meant for Tut.

It would also back up why his famous death mask was never really his. It is dead that researchers found out that because he died at a early age they took the death mask from another person and placed it on to the head peice for him. It is also known that very recently they found another chamber further along near to his burial chamber filled with other things associated with king tut because they could not get the tomb ready in time for his belongings so they used a already existing one close by. I think I got that all right. I'm not a exbert and I'm only in high school 🤣

He died young and unexpectedly. Most pharoahs spent years designing their tombs. He was buried in a hurry and he was unimportant in comparison to his predecessors. His tomb was also very luckily not looted like the other burial sites in the valley of the dead, leaving a low budget, but clear picture of what a full on burial would have looked like. That's why he is so important, his tomb wasn't impressive and neither was his life but it was untouched by looters.

When we studied ancient Egyptian history back in Post-WW II America, Tut was discussed--back then--as a minor Pharoah who died before his real tomb (one that would probably have been pillaged over the centuries) could be completed, so he was buried in what was a minor tomb, meant for a lesser man than a Pharoah. The fact that he was buried with such immense wealth--even as a very young man--was taught to us as a "teaser"--imagine the wealth that the greater Pharoahs would have taken to their tombs, if only those tombs hadn't been robbed of their treasures before exploration of them by Egyptologists began in earnest.

Tutankhamen was the son of Ankhnaton the pharaoh that created Armana and husband to Nefertiti. Many Egyptians (political and non political ) believed after the Armana episode when Tutankhamen was returned to Thebes with his half sister wife Ankesanamen to be crowned king he had to be taught all the old religion that his father had replaced with the one god religion to honour the Aten. It is believed that his advisor murdered him in order to become king himself, but Tutankhamens widow refuses to marry him, she plead to a Nubian king to allow her to marry one of his sons so she didn’t have to marry the murdering advisor. The king sent to sons both of whom were murdered. Ankesanamens body/tomb has never been found. She and tuts names were removed from all temples and the Egyptians removed his name from the list of pharaohs. His name should be in between the name of his father Ankhnaton and the name of the advisor who then became pharaoh, King Iye. All in all Tutankhamens tomb was prepared in a fast way due to his sudden murder and attempt to make him irrelevant in history after the distress and disaster that his father had caused

The splendour and magnificence of the treasures, coffins and sarcophagus found in King Tut's tomb will leave you completely awestruck. The gold work and etching is simply breath taking. But as our guide in Egypt told us...that if a minor Pharaoh like Tut who died young, was unimportant and lived at a time when Egypt was past her golden age could have a coffin and sarcophagus so grand then imagine what truly grand treasures the tombs of the great pharaohs like Ramses II would hold. It simply blows ones mind. The sad part is all of those tombs were looted or stripped over centuries by raiders and grave robbers unlike King Tut's which managed to remain hidden and was discovered completely untouched. Consequently making him the most famous historical discovery of mankind.

Maybe he died in an unexpected sooner death, and to my understanding on this video, it said that after death and once it starts to become night, he has to have the instructions on the walls in order to achieve immortality, and it has to happen before sunrise. So maybe the tomb was being prepared and died sooner than expected so it had to be rushed. Even so to me I feel like in order to achieve immortality, it doesn't has to mean you have to be alive in this world in flesh, but immortality as being forever remembered, in other words living in history, which as you can see he was able to accomplish.

According to some theories, tutankhamuns tomb was so grand because he reverted the official state religion back to being centered on amun-ra. His father Akhenaten had previously changed the religion of Egypt to be solely centered on Aten which was very unpopular at the time. The fact that he also changed his name from tutankhaten to tutankhamun further supports this idea.

Tutankhamen's tomb was not grand. In fact it was likely not even his intended tomb. All of the signs point to someone else's tomb being rapidly converted for use to accommodate his death which appears to have been a result of some accident. Meanwhile after he died his predecessor - Ay - who was not even of royal blood created for himself one of the nicer tombs in the Valley. That tomb might have originally been Tut's. Egyptian pharaohs had a bad habit of appropriating from their predecessors to take credit for themselves. After Ay the pharaoh Horemheb performed damnatio memoriae on Tutankhamen to "erase" him. Later Ramses II further desecrated the temples of Tutankhamen and his father Akhenaton. Ramses II was bad about that. He did the same to his father Seti I.

No biggie. Actually the fact that he was erased by his successors is what saved him. As a relatively minor pharaoh who was removed from the roles as it were = there was then little evidence to point to his existence. Had it been otherwise his tomb like most royal tombs would have been plundered long ago. Actually there was evidence of the tomb being broken into. A small area of the plaster wall separating the sarcophagus room from the treasury room was noted by Carter to have been repaired. So someone broke - probably soon after burial - in but was apparently caught and the tomb was resealed. That or else a later pharaoh appropriated some of his wealth.

I mean Egypt wasnt known as Egypt while these kings and queens were alive so what right does Egypt have to say is ok to dig into the grave and take everything out and use it for financial game and too enrich their coffers...technically they are doing what every grave robber does , go into someone elses grave and take someone elses belongings for personal or financial game but somehow would be illegal if I did it to a grave but is ok if the Egyptian government says is ok because their might be something they want in there

So because you believe Ancient Egypt wasn't known as "Egypt," studying Egyptian history through archeology is wrong? Archeology is going on in every country around the world. It has become a science. And anyways, that's only true in the sense that "Egypt" is just what English speakers call it. What do you think modern Egyptians call it? Egypt? no. They call it Misr, or Misri(from Mizraim, the legendary founder of Egypt). What did ancient Egyptians call it, and where do we get the word "Egypt"? The Romans called it *Aegyptus*. It was a Roman Province for almost 700 years. "Aegyptus", of course, comes from the Greek *"Aegyptios"* (Αίγυπτος) which comes from the Mycenean Greek *"ai-ku-pi-ti-jo,"* which comes from the Egyptian *"Hwt-ku-ptah"*(House/Temple of the soul of Ptah) The ancient name of Memphis, which later came to be used of all Egypt, or rather, the Kingdom that ruled there. This name is believed to go all the way back to Narmer, and lasted through the dynastic periods.

The biggest difference is the fact the there is mold on the walls indicating that the tomb was sealed prior to the paint drying, That has never been seen anywhere else to date. It is now believed that the Tomb he was found in was originally for someone else probably the advisor who took the throne after his death. Apparently, the person the Kind had selected to take the throne after him was overseas on a military campaign and one of his advisors had him buried quickly so he could take the throne before King Tutankhamun's Chosen successor returned to Egypt. The advisors took the throne and is believed to have been buried in the tomb that originally had been started for King Tut prior to his death. That tomb was very large very ornate in detail and much more appropriate for a pharaoh. The irony is the Advisor is but a cliff note compared to King Tut the advisors tomb was pillaged by tomb robbers while king Tuts tomb was left preserved until its modern day discovery.

Well, only 1, out of 100+ pyramids. All pyramids have a tomb in them(under them), and most have funerary texts, and burial artifacts in these tombs, but the tombs may not have been ever intended to be used for actual burial. Many kings built numerous false tombs to keep their actual tombs hidden(It didn't work), so the pyramids may have been built to be more symbolic of the king's tomb, but unbenownst to the public, the king would be buried elsewhere. Pyramids always included a huge complex of temples, monuments, and other tombs surrounding them. People would come honor or worship the dead pharoah believing him to be entombed in or under the pyramid.

Some royal or high court official most likely. There are more than pharaohs buried in the Valley of the Kings or Queens for that matter. There were also a number of lesser tombs found there which were no where near as expansive or ornate as the royal ones. We see the same thing among the other necropolises by the way. The Giza complex contains large cemeteries for important court people as well as people such as work supervisors etc.. So the evidence points to Tut dying from some accident. As such his tomb was probably not ready and some other tomb was pressed into service to fit the timeframe as a pharaoh was buried within 60-70 days after death.

I just thought I would share this info with you, what I am telling you is the truth and will stand by what I say, I don't lie or need to. I got to see a live recording of the opening of King Tutankhamen tomb. As a young boy around 45 years ago I watched on film on TV in Melbourne Victoria they found in the TV stations archives that was said to have been a live recording of the opening of Tutankhamen tomb They start the film telling the viewer the reason the film was made was because the search for the Kings tomb went on for a long time so long the archaeologist looking for the city of the king started going home thinking it may have been just a story and did not exist, but of cause they found it and the search began for the tomb, and it was decided that whoever found it had to record it live so no secrets could be kept, so in the film they showed the progress over time as they filmed the progress week by week and the discoveries they found it was a big event at the time as every Egyptian went there and had dug the hole area back down to ground level of the ruins in a six month period and when they did all the grass started to grow revealing all these two meter tracks going for miles they had made no sense to them as they tried to map them out, so they flew over it showing these four pictures of insects seven miles wide each one but what they could not understand was the spider was drawn with its eight eyes and speculated that they must have had microscopes to know this and had suspended water in rings of copper to make a crude microscope, but then they wondered why the grass was not growing and had the soil tested and it had been burnt with nuclear radiation six meters down and nothing will ever grow there, they had no idea how this was done because owe bombs go six inches down and three years later the grass grows back, so they move on to the opening of King Tutankhamen's tomb. This area was not brought back to ground level and they were walking in a trench about four foot deep and had come to the servants tomb and showed they had also found that as well, but the move on to open the kings chamber, and when they did it was empty except for the red marble sarcophagus and some vases and a small pile of cloths and said that they had buried the servant in the kings chamber and that the king would be in the tomb they passed on the way in, when they opened the lid to show the mummy they found he was covered in resin and that the people must have really liked him, because servants were not allowed to be mummified as this was only for royalty and is why they smuggled the resin in to the tomb in the vases and had poured it into his casket in an attempt to preserve him at great risk and is why they used the resin, today they are teaching a lie and are making out he was the king but this is not true. The man talking in the film said that this film is also why they found out how mummies were created, because back then they thought this mummy was going to be the best mummy ever found sealed in gold it would be so well preserved and were going to open and reveal the mummy live for all to see, well a lady had seen this filming and told them mummies were made first then placed in the tomb, but this was after they had made the recording, lucky for the people that got to see this film. When they went back to open up the servants tomb they found it had two doors with a curse on each one, but they did not believe in them and in they go and this is where it gets exciting because first you see this stone sarcophagus straight ahead they then pan to the left showing the artefacts you see in the museum going around from left to the wall behind the sarcophagus but when they look to the right side there was a small jet airplane about fifteen feet long as a guess with its jet thruster out the back and its wings taken off and leaning up against the fuselage, they then went on to open the stone sarcophagus to show King Tutankhamen and everyone's stood there in amazement of the golden casket, this is where they make the claim about the best looking mummy ever found and were going to do what they normally would not open it in the tomb, but because it was live they were going to show the world. So when they lifted the lid off the golden casket, they discover the gold mask and again the look in awe they then removed it as well and to their amazement there was a book under his arms about twelve inches by eight inches wide and two inches thick, they were all very excited because he explained that the only peace of Egyptian papyrus was a corner of a page with three words on it, that was left behind when they had burnt the oxygen from the tomb and to find this book was potentially worth more than all the gold you seen in the tomb, and said if he could open the book he would love to show us inside. He goes to open it and all was quiet not even anyone breathing, he reads the cover and it said it was the diary of the king Tutankhamen and opens to the first page, it talks about who his parents were and when they ruled as king and queen and when he became king, they then go to the next pages two and three and on these pages were the pictures of the four insects outside, each one had a UFO landed on them, drawn exactly as people report them today, and each one had its own humanoid spaces in front. The first race had a normal disk shape craft with the square top and port holes in it, landing gear with hydraulics, hoses and a ladder in the centre and these two humanoids that were boy and girl I would say as they had them in pairs each race, these pair were five feet tall with pointy ears long hair and long beards. Next were tall like us except for the pointy ears, and there ship was the disk shape with the dome top, ladder and landing gear. The third were exactly like us but with tight blue suits long blond hair and had a triangle shaped craft with the circles in each corner landing gear and ladder in the middle under the craft. And the four now even they are humanoid these were like the greys but they were tall about thirteen feet tall and there craft was disk shaped but had the three domes under the craft and landing gear and ramp in the middle. He then read the text in the centre at the bottom of the page and it read that the Egyptians were being visited by four other worlds in their time and these were there landing pads so they could spot them from space for when they return This is where the film had ended as a man comes up and whispers in the ear of the man reading the book and said I have been told I must close the book at this stage end the movie came to an end, they had to play this again the next night because people had demanded to see it again, so they did and all that I have told you was cut out and I have never seen it again.

There was a time constraint because tut died unexpectedly at 19. Usually the pharaohs would die of old age, sickness, etc. so that gave them enough time to prepare the tomb.
