Very interesting story! I am from Israel, and I fish a lot in the sea of Galilei. I catch Tilapia on small lures, jigs and spinnerbaits. Nice to learn the story behind the name. Thanks!

Ah yes, I recently heard about the Pink Tilapia from Paul, a KZreadr who's living in Thailand and he's raising walking catfish and pink tilapia in tanks at this home there but I've never heard of the fish called John Dory, going to google that, loved the way you prepared the Tilapia Chef Ray, but now I'm in a dilemma, what to make for this Good Friday, the Fish Tacos you recently uploaded or this Pink Tilapia, with a side of french fries and a fresh garden salad, Dinner is served! And I've recently mastered eating with chopsticks so I'll be trying to eat the Pink Tilapia, that is if I can find it here, there is a great tasting Pink Snapper, which we call 'Huachinango' here in Mexico, its also great tasting, from 2000 to 2015 there was a ban on fishing huachinangos here but since 2016 I've begun seeing them on sale at fish stalls and supermarkets. Thumbs up, thank you for sharing and Buen Provecho! :D

Haha, you can have the fish tacos for lunch and then the Pink Tilapia or Snapper for dinner ( so you can also master your chop stick skills, hehe). Red/Pink snapper is a tasty fish also. How do you usually spend Good Friday in Mexico?

Hi Joe, you may also have some unleavened bread to go with your fish also. Here is the link if you like to explore it kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIR8tKqniZjIcrg.html

@@AmazingKitchen Oops, sorry for the delay my friend, but the way we spend Good Friday here is solemnly, before covid some of us would attend the reenactment of the via crucis(here called Las Tres Caídas[The 3 Falls]), no cooking was done this day, usually excess food was prepared and leftovers were served this day and some would wrap the day up by seeing the penitents march hooded and silently in the procession, 'El Silencio' with an image of La Dolorosa(The Virgin Mary in mourning)leading the procession. As for the week following Easter Sunday many would extend the holy days with a springtime vacation.
