In this video we talk about the shifting landscape of global geopolitics and India's evolving role in international affairs through this insightful discussion. Gateway House provides an overview of key dynamics, highlighting Indian businesses' competitiveness in the global arena. As Europe's role undergoes
transformation, India's position in global supply chains and collaborations with Brazil and South Africa come
to the forefront.
The Koba Foundation's innovative ownership model and discussions on G14 and G7 dynamics within the
G20 framework shed light on India's strategic engagements. Concerns regarding Germany and
non-Western powers, alongside South Africa's mediation efforts, underscore the complexities of global
diplomacy.
Brazil's dependence on China and India's commitment to diversity and democracy add depth to the conversation on the G20's role in international affairs.

Thanks for the great programming. As an American, it's very interesting to hear perspectives from India. Hopefully, India can carry the torch of democracy into the future. Democracy is dying in the West, and the jealousy and affinity our elites feel towards the expediece of Chinese-style technocratic authoritarianism is palpable and scary.

This was such a lovely insightful discussion. Really it goes to show how big a hole there is in India when it comes to independent research, survery and observation houses. One thing to note is Ms Kripalani's assertions that India has no aspirations to be a super/ global power and all we shld aim to be middle power. Absolutely disagree with this. India was already a global power for thousands of yrs that's our heritage. We already have the experience the weight and huge hunger for it to be again. No country Ms Kripalani ever made a mark by aspiring to be a middling power! As my dad used to say if ur aim is to just pass than be ready to be treated as a mediocre just avg person. China achieved their goal and regardless of how they did this they are a global power. It might take us 50yrs or a century but our goal must be to become a global power the leading power.🙏 In any case really insightful discussion. Truly appreciate it Abhijit ji

@@dheerajyadav6925 yes I heard the discussion but if a person only aspires to finish high school and mayb complete graduation he will eventually land somewhere in between. If u aspire for a doctorate thn rest assured that graduation is certainty and the upward trajectory is mostly your will to do so. . so yes the aim should be- to be the best, to be a global power that the world respects and fears. And not a middling power who mayb leads the global south consensus. Btw the guest emphatically said " india should forget about becoming a global power with all its problems and aim to be a middling power only. That's for the best". Does a teacher tell her students to aim for nothing but passing scores? That's actually a very socialist thing to do. Everybody is uniformly made poor rather than rich. So ya i stand with my statement🙏

@@gathamore high Aspiration is good thing but first look what is position of our economy , .we are still 2600$ per capita income while which is very lowest in top economy in world. we manufacture nothing by own. we have to reform our education system which only produce coolie for western world.we have to be humble and ground level for 30 years and develop our economy and manufacturing sector day by day . that is "Buy your time Hide your strength". if we achieve 30 trillion dollor economy by 2050 -60 . then we have capability to became super power, India is today class 8 average student his first Aim to achieve good marks in high school . when the confidence grows up he can be engineer, doctor and scientists. before that dont drag yourself in unnecessary competition or false idea of superiority.

@@dheerajyadav6925 i absolutely understand where you are coming from but that is besides the point. I remarked upon the statement simply bcos it was strikingly similar to what Manmohan Singh once said" India has no aspirations to become a global power." And surprise surprise no one took india seriously a decade ago. Don't u find it interesting that this guest makes the exact same statement and wraps it up by saying we hav multiple issues and becoming a middling power should be our aim. Also the guest spent the initial 15 mins telling us how amazing and unbiased the German research group/ foundation was! We all know the west and US wants India to be strong enuf to challenge CHINA but not so strong that it challenges the west. Call me pessimistic but I do not believe the guest to be altogether 'unbiased'.I wld rather aim to b a global power and work up from being a middling power rather thn just aim to be a middling power cos the per capita income is 2600$ and whatever other objections u mite point out. The aim should be to be the best. I do not contest the point that first we become a middling power but rather that that is what we should aim for and be satisfied with! I hope I made myself clear on this..🙏

@@gathamore i like your enthusiasm and I respect your argument but my point is no country on earth became super power by atonce . its take time and its have to achieve the cycle. lets take example - US became economic power in 19th centuey military power in 20th century and the global super power in 21st century . it takes 150 years to achieve where it is . china with its hard economic growth since last 40 year its today became economic power(midlle power). you think india will become direct super power without going to period of cycle. sorry , but it is not going to happen. Super power does not mean only economic and military strength . its means a country which have power to hold a dominant position in every field of sector by its own . either it is science.,tech, medicines, military and defence. and influence other country politics. ma'am was just trying to say first be self reliant in every field like china then start to think becoming super power . dont show your ambition to the world early . if you do then same thing will happen to you thatwhat was done to soviet and now happening to china. "hide your strength buy your Time".... I rest my case your honor😂 🙏

4:33 The dihoctomy between Mumbai and Delhi is very real. The culture of Delhi is zhimmified along with being colonized. This is reflected in the Indian bureaucracy which operates out of Delhi was shaped by Nehru who was donating Indian land as he was doing charity out of his own wealth because it was causing him inconvenience on daily basis the subject coming up in Parliament. Indian bureaucracy doesn't care about Indian interest but rather Delhi interests hence it is fixed on pk. Another is Indian bureaucracy is steeped in Tehzeeb zhimmi culture with urdu being put on pedestal and the common Hindu trying to mimic the barbaric nawabs. Another point is that delhi is also the communist 2nd home since Indira gndu granted them safe space to protect muslim and stifle Hindu interests. Today even Mumbai is compromised due to migrants from UP/BIhar and Punjab who harbor a deeply cowardice and subservient attitude towards islam. Intelligence of Indian state of Center didn't counter or eliminate the gangs and allowed the police to work hand in glove with them.

Thanks for another superb session Abhijit! I felt much better seeing research based policy work being done, away from New Delhi. I have one slightly off topic request if you don’t mind. Can we encourage such think tanks to help in countering negative and biased reporting about India, especially in the West. This surely represents risk to the business and investment climate and many companies are sensitive to such issues globally. If someone can put a this narrative in perspective, backed by research and data, that will cancel out a lot of hidden agendas behind it. Having said that we do need to encourage when real issues are raised backed by research. Thanks again and cheers!

7:31 is that a Belgium flag ? [I think the editor confused the German Flag with the Belgium one; or i may be totally wrong and it was really intended in that way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]

Very interesting. Who is funding your organisation? Detailed analysis of contributions and benefits and their reasons to fund your organisation and what are their intentions, aims and goals in relation to individual companies, countries, groups? The legal concept ?

I don't agree with her explanation that we are aspiring to be a middle power, we already are, infact we are more than a middle power now, we would be in another league in next 10 years..
