The important thing everyone forgets is that the BEST CASE SCENARIO is Mahomes 2.0. Mahomes was blessed with an arguably GOAT coach, a already playoff roster, one of the GOAT TE's, and the fastest receiver of all time AND a great front office on top of it all. You throw Mahomes on a rebuilding team and throw him to the wolves immediately with a bad coach and then the carousel he wouldn't have panned out like he did on the Chiefs.

Bears are NOT going to trade away the #1..period. end of discussion..except for the irrational Fields fan boys. Bears now have DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, Swift, an improved Center and a VERY solid defense. They are doing something very un Bears like and setting up their future rookie QB for success. It's a damn shame Fields was done dirty his rookie year but like he said himself, life isn't fair. Go Bears!

There is no reason why the NFL should be terrified of any rookie QB. Caleb Williams... numbers, win-loss record, record versus ranked teams and intangibles really don't stand out amongst other QBs. I see Caleb Williams ceiling somewhere around Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray at best... which is pretty much his pro comparisons.

USC record before Caleb was 4-8 and when he joined they went 11-3… and won the heisman. This year he only threw 5 picks and 3 were against a top defense. Thats his only terrible game 😂. Saying his ceiling is baker mayfield is a bit disrespectful because baker had elite talent on his college team, Caleb didn’t lmao. Man as a Bears fan I really hope there's some substance to this young man and not just hype. The Pac-12 is definitely NOT the NFL. It's not even the Big 10. So yes I'm a little skeptical. Honestly he appears to be a smaller, slower version of Justin Fields, the pro quarterback that you called just awful, who also won the Elite 11 over none other than Trevor Lawrence. Where you're drafted to matters a lot. The Bears have added some talent but still need more depth and starters throughout the roster. The last thing they need is to blow the number 1 pick on a overhyped future qb bust.

I am curious if Williams has the humility to step back the first year and learn vs getting to try to be the superstar. I agree with some of the comments that Mahomes needs to and does attribute a portion of his success to Alex Smith, Andy Reid and so many others who invested in him. You can't deny Mahomes' talent or killer instinct! We don't know that yet for Caleb, or how he will handle that pressure at the next level. I think sitting for a year will be best, but with his dad in his ear and what the world is saying about him, it would take a strong young man to sit back and develop.

Get back in a year or two. And is he 50% of Brady and Maholmes; he will have a damn great career. But give me a break with this video... The guys probably need to at least go against an NFL Defenses before anyone compare wide-open WR in collage..To anything close to what he will face in NFL. Its a reason 80% of collage QB´s fall flat in NFL...even if he is a Kirk Cousin it would be great!! There are some attributes that do translate very well to the NFL and we’ve seen them lately in Jalen Hurts, (great scrambler & great passer), Patrick Mahomes , Great Scrambler & Great Passer). Next up is Caleb Williams. The Bears won’t allow 40+ pts/game. Due to his skill set including ridiculous agility behind the line, sense of pressure, ability to throw on the run that can only be compared to Mahomes, He is set up to play well on any team. The Bears still need to patch some holes on the O-Like, however Williams is used to this. Bears are in a tough Division this year, however they have a good chance to make a run with Williams. Almost any team could be a playoff contender with Williams. His accuracy on the run is possibly the best there’s ever been. Now that is a stat/trait that does scare teams. No matter how good of a pass rush or how poor of an O-line he gives his team a shot on every play. That Is Exciting. & That's why there is all the hype.

Numbers wise they are not far off: Johnny Manziel: 26 games = 63 TD / 22 Int / 7,820 Yards / 164 Rating + Rushing: 2,169 Yards / 30 TD Caleb Williams: 37 games = 93 TD / 14 Int / 10,082 Yards / 169 Rating + Rushing: 966 Yards / 27 TD But Caleb is not your normal jock. Caleb was a linebacker in 5th grade. And he was knocking other kids out. So the coaches moved him up to play with the 8th graders. Yes, at 10 years old he was playing against 13 year olds. And by 10 years old, Caleb was already tired of his team losing. So he told his parents and coaches that he was going to play quarterback so he could control things. At 10 flipping years old he wanted ALL the pressure on him! Caleb has been toning his body doing Yoga exercises since he was 14, always keeping his body in shape. Caleb was also enlisted in media training at age 14. And at 14 he became the starting QB at his high school - as a freshman - over the senior kids on the team. Yes, a 14 year old leading 17 year olds. He wound up being the country’s second-ranked high school QB when he left for college. On his first play in college he ran 60 yards for a touchdown. His team was losing when he came off the bench and beat rival Texas. He was their hero right from the start. At the end of that first college season, he was being talked about as a future Heisman winner, and sure enough, he won it the next year. By his third season he had a resume of quarterback numbers as good or better than most college quarterbacks ever. This is how you earn the label “Generational”. Caleb was voted Team Captain by his USC teammates. He paid for his entire 8 man offensive line to go with him to get the Heisman. Plan fare, hotel food, paid for the whole bit, because he is already a millionaire. Which means the money thing will not be a big distraction for him upfront, like it was for Johnny Football. Caleb already has the $. What DRIVES Caleb is Fame. His DESIRE to be a Legendary Quarterback. Best case is he will turn out to be his favorite quarterback - that other Diva - Aaron Rodgers. The guys whole purpose in life is to be a Great Quarterback. That's what drives him. The only type of bust he should be headed for is in the Hall Of Fame.
