Mahomes was the best player on a college team with no talent and an absolutely abysmal defense. What separates Mahomes from the rest of the pack is how comfortable he is playing from behind. The best thing that ever happened to Mahomes was playing for a college team that wasn't very good. A lot of what determines success in the NFL depends on how well a quarterback can adjust to the talent level and more complicated schemes. There are countless quarterbacks who thrive in college, get drafted to a bad team and never adjust to their first taste of losing. When the Chiefs drafted Mahomes I had no idea who the hell he was despite being a Chiefs fan for 50 years. A lot of people didn't who don't follow Texas Tech. One thing that jumps out with his college film is just how good he really was with no NFL caliber receiving talent

No, he's right - the Mahomes we're seeing now is the result of inherent talent, being mentored by Alex Smith for a year and having, perhaps, the most uniquely brilliant offensive mind, in Andy Reid as a head coach. Mahomes is refined and unique - definitely a one of one. No one is the history of pro sports has started their careers winning MVPs and championships right out of the gate. MJ didn't - Lebron didn't - Marino didn't - Montana didn't - Brady didn't [championships, yes. MVPs, no]...Mahomes is generational in terms of having talent and accomplishments simultaneously with no let-downs. NCAA Mahomes was talented as all hell, but nothing like he is at present.

The Cardinals should do their best to get him. To have him plus the Texans 1st round pick this year (which could turn into Marvin Harrison Jr if the Texans are bad) and then they could trade Kyler away for a nice haul of picks.

I'm not sure a team would take on Kylers massive contract. I'd like to see the Cardinals receive something for him. But it was a horrible move to extend him. Then the stipulation in his deal where he had to watch more game tape. That right there should have been a reason to trade him before the deal.

There is no comp to Mahomes. While Mahomes has great athletic ability and arm talent that is off he charts, that's not what makes him the best we've ever seen. It's his MIND. It's nearly impossible to rattle Mahomes. He's completely comfortable under pressure as well as playing from behind. He has a photographic memory and his football IQ is off the charts. His pocket and field awareness are the best I've ever seen... He sees EVERYTHING. His mental game is right there with Brady and Manning while being WAY more athletic than either of them. EVERY draft someone gets touted as the next Patrick Mahomes, and we have yet to see any of them even come close. COULD Caleb Williams end up being the best QB we've seen since Mahomes became a starter in 2018? He's definitely got the potential, but keep in mind that Mahomes has had the best start to a career EVER, both in statistics and success. In 6 seasons as a starter Mahomes' floor is losing the AFC Championship game in overtime. Even Tom Brady's career didn't start off THAT good. NO college player should be compared to Mahomes because it's not fair to put those kind of expectations on ANY college player.

He is either 6’0 even or 6’1 at the most, height won’t matter though because his ability to throw from weird arm angles allows him to create/see his own passing lanes.

Outside of Vikings. The best team that currently has a chance to get the 1st pick would be the Raiders. They have the core. Just missing their QB and a new HC. Of course they would still need some other positions filled with more talent. But throwing to an all pro and having a all pro RB as a rookie isn't too bad.

Plays more like Russell Wilson and Aron Rodgers than Mahomes, but he does not have the ability to stand tall in the pocket like Mahomes or a Burrow or TB12. Mahomes can do the extra stuff but he's so good at improvising we tend to forget that that's inst even the icing on the cake. Great IQ as well. Caleb moves, too much in the pocket for my taste you can't be one-dimensional in the NFL.

I don't watch College Football enough to know how good he is but Mahomes has been the best QB 5 years in a row, and Dak has a lot of Mahomes in him (most 400+ yard games: 5 - tied with Mahomes) and Dak was amazing as a rookie. Caleb Williams is a little better than Mahomes. His college stats are a little better and his college highlights are a little better. Patrick Mahomes had the stronger throwing arm. And Mahomes probably has the strongest throwing arm in NFL history.
