    i've been watching USC football since 2005 and Caleb is the best I've ever seen wearing the uniform. Sam Darnold is second. Darnold made incredible plays all through his USC career. He was so clutch in winning the Rose Bowl. and somehow, Caleb makes Darnold's production look totally ordinary.

    @@rbu2136 They're going to draft Williams. It's time to accept it. Be excited. Fields is destined to be a middle of the pack QB. Williams at least gives us a lottery ticket to be dominant and relevant for the next 10 years. That's what great QBs do. It might not work out with Williams. Theres always that risk. But Fields will never be a Super Bowl winning QB or a QB that elevates the entire team around him. He's a guy who might be able to be decent with a loaded team around him. Nothing more. He's a good and likeable kid. But he's not a star and never will be. He will have an average career and will be a guy who shows incredible flashes. But at the end of the day he will always be average or worse statistically.

    @@scipio8866This is what they’ll do: Marvin Harrison Jr. at 1 or trade out, Use pick 9 on an offensive tackle and Fuck the Jets over. Speaking as a Jets fan I’d take the dude but I need linemen. If Rodgers hangs it up after next year then I’d send a 4th for Fields or something before the trade deadline. He has the right mindset, He needs the right people around him. How about 1 for 1, Zach Wilson for Justin Fields. I promise you Caleb Williams isn’t going to be as good as the world thinks, He reminds me of Johnny Manziel. He doesn’t play from the pocket, That recipe doesn’t work in the NFL. Russell Wilson had some success in Seattle but we saw the real Russ in Denver, Pete Carrol was scheming him success just like Geno Smith. I think taking a QB at 1 is a bad decision. Look at the last 15 years and you’ll start to see why, best case scenario you land a Joe Burrow or “Trevor Lawrence”. Reality and math would tell you that you got a higher chance at landing a Jameis Winston, or Bryce Young/Baker Mayfield/Kyler Murray. The last 3 are all worse than QB’s who went later than them. Why do you think that is?

  • @dereksavastano

    @dereksavastano

    Also coincidentally, He gets all day in the pocket and his receivers always have yards of separation. The NFL and College Football are completely different in that sense, whats considered “covered” in college becomes “open” in the NFL. Bc they’re all supposed to be able to lead receivers, anticipate breaks, call out protections. The QB has become way too important to get wrong.

    On the 'Up Top' at 19:00, #16 was wide open in the flat and scores if Williams delivers him the ball on time. Williams is looking right at him and the ball should have been out of his hands within a second or two. He should not be commended for turning that play into a playground, run around in the backfield until someone gets open, touchdown. In the NFL he will be expected to hit that open WR in the flat and get rid of the ball ON TIME. Bad play.

    Exactly. The entire corps are running wide open. Their man defense is not close to good. All due respect, nothing taken away from a realky solid performance, but his ability to pick this defense apart is reflective of his competency as a good quarterback.

    Hes a baller and is really fun to watch to a popular audience thats big on video games. The one thing i question about this type of qb at the next level is will they lose a step in nfl and the ability to fill in so much of their game that hes leaning on. As a 26 year man he could train it up but without the skates is he as good or able to create ? Marcus marriota being the example type in mind

    I love his play. I just want to see it against a competent defense. His WRs are wide open. He did some special things, don’t get me wrong. He has all the time in the world to throw, and when he does, they’re wide open. If I am going to believe he’s the second coming, I just need to see more (and I’m sure we will this year) or I need to see the anticipation throws required in the the NFL. As an infamous NFL coach once said “IF YOU WANT TO CROWN THEM, CROWN THEM!”

    J.T. : while the kid is very impressive is there anything there as a QB coach you would try to replicate with high school aged QBs? Varying arm angles and fire and fall back passes are great if a kid can do it, and obviously Caleb Williams can, but for most high school kids it’s not replicable or will lead to ucl issues. What would you take from this film and tell another player “here do this”?
