    This is genuinely a very intriguing racquet. Sweetspot is definitely higher up and everything seems to happen in the upper half of the hoop. It's like the racquet gives you a 20% "power up" in terms of normal pace and spin when you hit it there. I guess that's where the 'Boom!' comes from. One of the most 'fun' 98sq" racquets I've used in a while. The way I would describe it is that the racquet always want to do "something with the ball" when you hit in the string bed. Slices are good, groundstrokes are good, and racquet is surprisingly stable for its weight with good ability to block back big serves etc. The racquet can occasionally launch a ball if you hit it in the wrong part of the spring bed but that's the only thing I think you need to get used to. Strung mine at 53/52 with Sonic Pro 1.25mm. I liked this racquet.

    No such issues w stringbed. It may just be your swing path. I fell in love w this raquet because all my baseline shots would have good loopiness and would dip inside the baseline with ease. I switched from Gravity Pro btw.

    Love your review. I have to agree with your description of how the top of the racquet face feels, but with the added note that that area feels much more comfortable and refined compared to the equivalent area on yonex ezones, where the top can feel especially harsh. I think this racquet can really shine for someone who is can consistently use the top of the hoop to generate tons of spin.

    I'm currently shopping to leave my 2019 radical pro. Both the boom pro and surprisingly the new 2022 speed mp were both deal breakers on serve. Hi Beckett greats videos by the way, I have been struggling a lot lately to change racquets, I’m currently using an pure aero vs with 6 grams at 12 but i still feel that i need more control and feel. I love to hit on the trainings with an pretige inteligente but i feel that this frame is too much head light e a bit heavy to put weight on 12 which frame would you recommend me, i’ve been thinking about some: blade, Radical or speed i’m just no sure about the version or string pattern but I would like a frame with an lower RA then the pure aero vs Thanks I wish you success in this channel, you have greats videos

    Thanks Joao! Glad to have you here. The best way to get used to a new stick is completely switch and don't look back. It can takes weeks, but don't be tempted to visit the old one. Some things that may help you in the meantime: I'm thinking that the two things you are missing from the old Prestige is the lower launch angle and the good ball pocketing. I thing you could get some of this back by trying Tecnifibre Triax string. It's a multifilament, so it's very soft which helps with ball pocketing. But, it has polyester fibres which means it has great durability and spin production for a multi. I also found its launch angle to be much lower than most poly's. Finally, if none of these work, my close friend used a Flexpoint Prestige MP for 15 years. A shoulder injury made it hard for him to serve so he needed something new. After trying a ton of racquet, he ended up switching to the new Radical MP.

  • @TennCom

    @TennCom

    2 жыл бұрын

    hey sorry for the late reply, this comment clipped by my radar. Boom Pro feels kinda between the Extreme Tour and MP, but with more weight. It's decently maneuverable and has superior plowthrough compared to both Extremes, but doesnt have the same control as the Tour. If you wish the Extreme Tour has more power or that the Extreme MP had more control, thee Boom Pro is actually a pretty good choice because the feel is quite similar IMO.

    @@TennCom Thanks for your reply, Beckett! I had to weight the Tour and the MP Extremes up. I got them about the same in terms of overall and swingweight, prefer the tour by quite a bit except for doubles, perhaps. I'm getting older so the MP is less work and when weighted up to 331 SW, it feels pretty good [9 pts HL] for dubs. Definitely like the Tour when I have more time. Love the channel - keep it coming!

    Hey Beckett! Really like your video content and edition. I've been using wilson blade and yonex ezone 98 for a while, 304 and 310 grams respectively. Recently I got such a good deal with a Head Graphene 360 Speed S brand new for 40 $ that I've been thinking on keeping it instead of selling it again. Do you think that the 285 gr of the Head Speed S would be such a problem for me bearing in mind I've been using most of the time the wilson blade of 304 gr? Thank you very much in advance!

    Ty for the feedback. It is very helpful. Idk how to fix those long balls on the Boom. Initially I was thinking a more control oriented string would help (I was using Lynx), but then you would end up with a very dead upper hoop. This type of stringing may help: tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/ivan-lendl-8-knot-string.425724/ But it seems like too extreme of a solution.

    I tried the Boom Pro as well, and it felt really nice, but I struggled with depth and some other things. It is definitely a step back from my current Babolat Pure Aero Tour. That being said, I added some lead to an Ezone 98 and that feels great. Will try the Head Extreme Tour, Dunlop SX 300 Tour and Yonex Vcore98 as well. Or better might try, because I am actually very happy with the Ezone
