Thanks for the review! I myself come from the racquet history of RF97, Prestige MP (the older "real" MP), Prince 93P 18*20, CX200 Tour 18*20 - which makes me a control freak. I would usually just shrug off "Power" racquet lines like Ezone, Puredrive, etc. and naturally thought Boom fits in the category and never given it a serious look. Your review here made me want to test out one of my buddy's Boom Pro (2022) and I was pleasantly surprised! Didn't feel too overpowered, felt like the control was still there. Definitely moved the needle up in power, at the cost of some notches down in control. But overall still playable. Would love to test out the 2024 version and maybe even play around w some customisation! What customisations have you tried and what's your current setup? Have you tried leather grip w some leads around the hoop?

9:40 Hahaha I agree. I have been a user of racquets from HEAD my entire career and will never change, but the last 3-4 years have not been the best for their font designers. I did not like the large single letters that came on the last generation, and the new attempt to put the racquet version in between the primary letters is just shambolic.

The Boom is a great choice. I much prefer it over the Clash 100. It's also more arm-friendly than the Pure Drive but has plenty of power. Depending on what weight she is most comfortable with, there is also a lighter Boom MP L version. But I'm female, age 44, and use the MP. It feels lighter than advertised to me, very easy to swing.

Hi Jonas, I know you are a big fan of the Speed Pro line. I have been playing with the Speeed Pro 2022 myself for the last two years, great control and stability, great for two handed backhand, comfortable on the arms, but I still have trouble generating spin on the forehand and lack a bit of power on this shot. Of course it's a bit of an issue with my wrist swing as I'm more of an eastern grip fan. My coach is trying to get me to a semi-western grip, but it just doesn't feel right with this racquet. Do you think the Head Boom Pro 2024 racquet can help me transition to a semi western grip better than the Speed Pro 2022? Based on your review, I am considering purchasing this racket. Thank you for your opinion...🙏😉...

I’ve just switched from the Speed Pro 2022 to the Boom Pro 2022. The speed is a great racket but it’s heavy and ironically feels slow in the swing. As soon as I started with the Boom I just got so much whip my backhand (one handed) was a completely different shot. A lot of people weren’t keen on this racket but for my style (one handed aggressive baseline) it’s great!

@@thebisonroom Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. I couldn't take it anymore and played my new Head Boom Pro 2024 for the first time on Friday. I strung it with the exact same string as my Head Speed Pro 2022 for the best comparison. For the main string I used a Solinco Revolution and a Head Velocity MLT in a cross, both at 22kg. It's still cold outside, so I didn't go with the voltage high. Any hybrid of a similar setup is a great combination on my Speed racquet, but after 2 years I still haven't found a setup that makes it easier to produce spin. If I don't get my leverage and swing 100% technically correct, this racquet doesn't forgive. But if I do it right, it's perfect. My problem is probably that after an hour of playing I get tired and I'm not good enough for this racket anymore. I had completely different feelings with the new Head Boom Pro 2024 racket. This setting is of course too loose, next time I will probably try to increase the tension by 2 kg with a hybrid or by 1 kg with a full bed Solinco Revolution or Confidential. But despite that I was able to keep control of the ball very easily. Producing spin was very easy on my weaker forehand, but so was my better two-handed backhand. The power that this racquet provides compared to the Speed is also very easy and most importantly accurate due to the added spin. After 1 hour of playing I was not tired at all and could still play my game. So after my first game with this racquet I have positive feelings and I think this is a good choice for anyone who has a demanding racquet and can't manage it...

Radical is sweet af once you customize weight and use spin strings at slightly lower tension than normal ...many people that luv the Rad MP have added weight ... most balanced well rounded racket for all areas imho but you have to dial it in with lil customizing... esp considering heads quality control lag. You could easily get a head racket that you hate and or luv if you ordered three seemingly identical rackets at same time and this is case for almost all rackets made in China

Yet at moments when I want to be ultra aggressive sometimes I feel short on power and I was thinking to change to hybrid setup to see if that can help rather than use full poly but after this review and another one I saw around, it seems that Boom Pro offer good power without sacrificing stability and it could be worth to give it a try

i had arm issues too- tennis and golfer elbow and struggled for months. part of it though was due to bad form. I normally use a babolat pure drive plus with a hybrid with gut in mains at 54 adn velocity in the cross at 54. I bought two head boom pros- 2022 model, and added lead tape to the sides and a little on the top and used that for a while. I found it hit less crisp than the Babolat. But i liked the Boom a lot!! However because of the feel and the crispness i went back to the Babolat and dropped the tension by two pounds, cleaned up my strokes adn no more elbow pain. So i guess the Boom Pro defilnitely helped my elbow given teh R Aof 63 or so vs 69.

I also got very painful elbow after hitting with the Gravity Pro for 1 hour only. Strange because it is supposedly a soft racquet. I normally play with a Prestige Pro and no issues with that. Gravity Pro had Poly Tour Pro(soft for a poly string) strung at 50 lbs and still hurt my arm. I am aware that nowadays it is fashionable to go lower in tension but I just can’t play with anything lower than 50 lbs.
