    In my bag I have Grav Pro, Boom Pro and Blade 98 -- all great in their own right bit after hitting the new grav pro, I fell in love. Solid yet sublime feel and does not feel like 330 SW. Great all around but it’s the feeling at contact that sets it apart. It has to be the thinner beam coupled with the tight string pattern that sets it apart. Not to mention the new paint job doesn’t hurt either.

    Agree on everything about the prestige, but the feel is so good I haven’t been able to commit to switching to anything else 😬 you can hit any ball on a time, but if you’re not fully committed to the shot you’re going to get punished

    I have and still use a Dunlop Revelation Tour Pro Mid Plus 95. So thin, so headlight, heavy at nearly 12 oz strung. Circa late 90's. I used it in high school and pulled it out as i'm getting back into the game. It sounds like you describe the Prestige the same way; a dinosaur but still fun. I am looking for something exactly like it, but just lighter as i don't have the same tolerance for the weight as I once did. Great channel, very good information and comparisons!

    Excellent run-down overall! One interesting thought: you're judging these racquets in **stock form**, which is of course relevant to most people, but I'd be interested on your take if they were all at the **same strung spec**, ie. identical static weight, balance and swing weight. It would have to be a pretty high spec to reach equal numbers across the board, but nonetheless, at that point you'd have to base your power assessment mostly on flex, head size, string pattern and beam width, which I'd imagine would re-order things slightly to the following (highest power to lowest): Boom Pro > Extreme Tour > Radical Pro > Speed Pro > Gravity Pro > Prestige Pro. Curious if you'd agree.

    This is a very interesting idea and one I've thought of doing many times in the past (not for video but for myself). It won't be for right now but down the line it's definitely a project I would be interested in taking on. I would swap the Boom and Extreme and then I think you are right.

I play Speed pro and I am thinking of getting another Pro, looking at the Gravity pro, would this be a good and fun pair to get out on the court? I seldom play competitive due to an arm issue overhead so I only play for fun anyway. but that aside I come from a Radical tour 1993 model, then Head Speed Pro.

    I got back into tennis after 20 years and wanted to get a racket 2nd hand; it had to be Head because you can easily change grip size, I need an L5 and those are almost impossible to find in my area. This video was the single best piece of information I could find: I got my 360+ Gravity Tour and I absolutely LOVE IT, thank you so much for your invaluable help! May I suggest an idea for a future video? Since you like the Gravity, you like nerding over tennis tech, and you got that awesome Wilson machine, why don't you make a comparison of the Gravitys (MP, Tour and Pro), first in their stock form and then tuning all of them to the balance and swing weight of the Pro? Too nerdy for the general public maybe? 😅 I would love to see it since the MP has a different string pattern and the Pro has a thinner beam.

    Good morning, I have a question. Some say that stiffness determines whether one racket is more powerful than another, but others say that it is the power scale or psi that determines it. If you can clarify that for me, I would appreciate it, because it happens that the radical, for example, has 65 RA while the speed pro 2022 has 61 RA, which suggests that the radical is more powerful but when you look at the power scale, the radical has 200 and the speed pro 300 suggesting that the speedpro is more powerful. Thank you very much for answering .

  • @RacketsRunnersVancouver

    @RacketsRunnersVancouver

    7 ай бұрын

    Don't worry too much about the CPI, sometimes it's very off. Yes, stiffness helps add power but also racket shape, head size and of course, string choice play a huge role.

    Thank you! If you want a more powerful/lighter racket you should try the Extreme MP, it also has great spin! I wouldn't pay too much attention to CPI, but in your case I would go for something with a higher CPI. Usually lighter/more powerful frames have high CPIs.

    The Instinct 2022 is the same Instinct as the 360+ when its was in the "Elite"-silo...or endorsed by pro's list. Just because its taken of the spotlight list doesnt mean it starts to play bad. Prestige Pro needs a good and well thought out string setup. A hybrid of syn gut/MLT in cross and Lynx Tour in the mains @ 50 lbs. Just putting in the same strings at the same tension in all the rackets is not the best thing. The strings setup, makes up for 50 % of the experienced playabilty for any racket. Its like putting on the same tires on all cars and then comparing the cars.

    There really isn’t much closer than the prestige pro, it’s the only racket I consistently take out and say, “this is about as classic as it gets”. No spin amplification, no extra power, just super consistent control with slightly modern user friendliness. The Cx200 tour is an obvious candidate but I don’t think it’s as good in this case as the prestige pro.

    It's tough to explain but it has more more "classic" feel than the Speed because of that constant beam but it also is so unique with its sweet spot and head shape that it has a power and spin element you won't get with many other rackets like this.
