Guru Gamma if he quits taking drugs, I see him loosing more often. I mean, it happens. usually drug dependant fighters loose when they get the drugs taken away. non drug dependant fighters are a bit slower and less impressive in comparison but they get better with time if they don't suffer massive injury and concussions. the drugged up one's start at the top of their maximum level and the natural ones progress into it eventually.

Paul Robinson I think it has more to do with sincerity/perception, Jon may be a douche and a bit egotistical, but he doesn't pretend he isn't. DC pretends that he is above the kind of character assassination and faults Jon shows, all while still taking every opportunity to take shots at Jon. It's the incongruity between the way DC presents himself, and the way he acted towards Jon that earned him much of his detractors during the whole Jon Vs DC affair. While Jon may have been equally malicious and immature during the lead up to the fights, he didn't pretend to be anything other than the young bad boy. Fans are often willing to embrace "bad guys", but we tend to react more harshly if a fighter/athlete appears "two faced" which sadly was how DC came off in many of the early promotions/press-conferences/interviews leading up to that first fight. (less so the second, but the dynamic of that fight was a lot different as well given Jon's suspension previously.)

I say DC and Jones because of the fact that Jones was this young talented phenom with shitloads of talent and charisma despite some unsavory personality traits much like Ali, while DC has always been an understated pressure fighter with a grinding work ethic and an underdog mentality. Also the fact that jones and Dc are physically very similar in terms of height and build to Ali - Frazier. Also because of Ali and Jones' exiles, which has helped to further build their rebel personas even though both were largely self inflicted, and the fact both DC and Frazier won Ali and Jones' titles while they were vacant and didn't receive the respect they felt they deserved. I really hope that DC wins the second fight because I think losing to Jones twice would haunt him forever, and I really think that DC and Jones have the potential to prodouce a "Thrilla in Manilla" style epic if the scores are tired at one win a piece.

Obviously I dont think the jones-dc rivalry is as historically or socially significant as Ali-Frazier, but I think jones and Ali have definetly got that charismatic scumbag streak and DC and Frazier feel underappreciated and unfairly treated

I don't like DC's act he puts on when he steps up to JJ, but I simply dislike Jon on another level completely. Fucker did some shit that would have landed most people in prison for a decade and walked out with some community service and a self-righteous attitude. To this day he refuses to admit the weight of his poor decisions. Fucker makes my skin crawl. DC was better when he was the quiet professional in my opinion. If you try to make people like you, they never will.

It's pre fight trash talk, it's part of the game. Fighting is more mental than physical. Plus you gotta get people interested to tune in, hence the trash talk and acting like a douche

inYourFace Jones probably used steroids, and he is a deeply flawed person. I just don't like how DC claims the moral high ground when he outright cheated last fight.

doyoueven hey man, the clinch and grappling is just as complex and fun to watch if you understand what's going on. I feel bad for people who only like the kickboxing part of MMA.

doyoueven People think differently you're entitled to think it's boring, however, he is in fight mode in the ring and if you were an Olympic caliber wrestler you wouldn't try to stand with the spider for too long. He proved his ground control that day and fought a smart fight, silva is dangerous on his back but could do nothing to DC that night. I'm not a fan of DC though because his better than you attitude, he's also annoying for how he talks about the greats he shows no respect
