Zidan Mozumder Exactly. I can't even count the number of drunk talks I've had about dropping everything, and traveling the world while I'm still relatively young. Only to sober up the next day and push those thoughts to the back of my head. There's always comfort in normality. I only wish I had the balls to follow through with my dream. DC made it to the highest pinnacle in his sport, he has nothing to be ashamed of.

If this Jon Jones fight was DCs Alexander the great, statue moment, if he can still comeback at 38, win like 3-4 more fights and make a last Jon Jones fight for the belt and his retirement, he will not only become the true champ, he will become what Ceaser is, an immortal legend, written into the history of the sport, however that is almost impossible.....almost

  • @LegacyEvoAce

If Cormier wanted to if he seriously wanted to he could go down as a much bigger legend then Jones. All he has to do is move down to his natural weight class of WW take the belt then move up to MW and take that one and retire knowing he was the better fighter or equal at worst, Jones is the bigger man. People forget Jones is actually a LHW/HW Cormier is just a pudgy small dude who didn't want to be serious enough and fought at hw. Talented determined gets you far but it doesn't change your actual physical body born a WW/MW you will die one. This was the fantasy matchup people always talk about. What happens when a small but equally talented guy fights a larger yet equally talented man? Bigger guy wins 9/10 some say 10/10.

It's ironic that this toxic machismo is still present in the MMA community, when we ourselves as fans get so wrapped up in the drama: we are addicted to the emotion of fighting. The excitement of a heated match-up, the disappointment of seeing one of our favourite fighters lose, and the overwhelming joy when they accomplish their dreams. Despite all of this, when a fighter, or more accurately, a human being, performing in one of the most ruthless, painful, and honest sports in the world, expresses emotions when they fail to reach a height they had worked so incredibly hard for their entire career, they are called a "bitch" and a "pussy".
