It's like witnessing a time traveler from the past trying to sell a VHS tape in the era of streaming services-nostalgic, but hilariously out of touch. Similarly, theists dusting off the prophecy argument after years of it being dismantled is like watching a comedy of errors unfold in slow motion. This clip is over a decade old and a few callers recently tried to use this argument as proof for their God. It went exactly how you suspect it did.

Now what if the doctors and the scientists told you that to prevent dying in 3 years you have to have a clone of your entire body including your brain , and of course the clone of your brain will have all the same memories. Would you do it. I would imagine if you would do it simply for the brain you would do it for your entire body if it's a physical clone indistinguishable from your original body

PS also let me explain to you about the meaning of atheism. Atheism is a disbelief or lack of in God or gods A disbelief is an unwillingness or inability to accept something. A lack of belief equates to an unwillingness to accept. Besides the defined meaning of atheism showing that it's an unwillingness or inability to accept God more importantly there's an argument based in physical evidence proving that atheism is an unwillingness or inability to accept God. You have supplied no argument debunking that atheism is an unwillingness or inability to accept God AKA a disbelief or lack of. You just claimed it's not an unwillingness or inability.

The problem, Martin, is the apologetics has moved the goalpost on Jesus's prophesy. They have claimed that if you follow Jesus, you will not really die, but will live for eternity. So all those people were never going to truly die before all of his "promises" would come to pass. The other problem, is there is zero first hand writings from Jesus in the bible. The best is perhaps third-hand knowledge as most of Jesus's followers weren't literate and definately weren't transcribing any of his claims contemporary to his life as a man.

If I was a fiction writer, I could write a novel that ended with unresolved issues and even predictions, and that would be a kind of a cliff-hanger. Then suppose I wrote a sequel novel in which all those predictions I made up somehow get resolved. That’s exactly how I view the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. One man-made book with “prophesies” and a follow-up man-made book with resolutions of those prophesies. Two man-made books of pure fiction.

  • @brianmonks8657

Prophesies cannot be proof of god simply because there is no way to link prophesies to any specific god. Even if the bible actually was full of specific prophesies that came true there is no way to link that to any specific source. All you get are people claiming their version of god just has to be the source of those prophesies, just because it has to be true.

At one time atheists would claim the idea of consciousness existing without a brain is supernatural until it was proven that consciousness can exist without a brain. After that the atheist would claim consciousness existing without a brain or a nervous system would be supernatural. Until it was proven that consciousness can exist without a brain and a nervous system.. There's atheists that believe in the supernatural like the idea the origins of Life can come into existence without creation without God that's a belief in the supernatural. The natural process as we know it is life comes from life, Life comes from an intelligence source. So if you believe the origins of Life came into existence without creation without God you believe in the supernatural.

Matthew 7:14. is the Jesus Prophecy that most people will go to hell. I'll explain: "For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and *few* are they that find it." Matthew 7:14 ASV Matthew 7 :14 is a prophecy made by Jesus. The key words are they and find. The Greek words are οἱ and εὑρίσκοντες and in this context, οἱ (they) refers to more than one person, and εὑρίσκοντες (finding) is in *future* participle form. Source:Strong's Greek, Mastering New Testament Greek Textbook Ted Hildebrandt What does this mean? It means, quite simply, that few people *will* find life, most people *will* find death. A prophecy that the many will fail, and only the few will succeed, much like a lottery. A prophecy that most people will go to hell. Jesus's promise that most people can't be saved. *Not very reassuring*

Then weeks go by & he shows up to her house and says to her I really like you and I want you to go out with me! She then says, Sir I'm not interested in you please leave me alone! Then few more weeks go by & this guy goes and kidnaps her and ties her up & is now forcing her to date & love him now! Would you say that this is true love or not? NOW GOD LOVES YOU, AND HE'S GIVING YOU ALL YOUR GIFTS OF THIS LIFE YOU ENJOY, HE DIED ON THE CROSS SO YOU CAN BE WITH HIM FOR ETERNITY IN HIS KINGDOM. But if you reject His offer, He Loves you and respects you enough not to Force or Drag you to be stuck with Him Forever in Heaven... I can make literally AMAZING prophecies regarding my own personal life, if you accept the standards of the Bible. I 'prophesied' a couple years back that I would be happy, in a new career doing the things I love and living a better quality of life in the future. Here I am, a couple years later, in a career I am passionate about, with a better quality of life and an ability to do the things I want to do. Taken at face value, people obviously would just say, yup, you worked hard towards something you wanted. But this fits the model of prophecy in the Bible to the T. The people who made the prophecy had a line of people working towards it because they all knew about it, it's vague enough that a number of situations will consider it fulfilled, and there was no set time period to make it happen. Biblical prophecy is not prophecy. It's human psychology, and evidence that humans can work towards a goal. And all the prophecies that AREN'T about that either don't come true or have to be spun to fit the most vague understanding you can imagine. That anyone accepts prophecy as sound is literally laughable given how transparently innaccurate and/or easily explainable it is.

When someone tries to use probability combined with the personal incredulity fallacy , they are committing a fallacy that I call the Han's fallacy (never tell me the odds) I'll explain.... The chances of anything happening, that already happened, is 1. If someone thoroughly shuffles a deck of cards, for instance, the odds before shuffling, of any particular order, are 8*10^67 (8 with 67 zeroes after it) After shuffling, those odds are beat, for the order that turns up, every time. Those odds are so great, that the end result has essentially never been seen before, and never will, again. And, that's just ONE deck of cards! Even trying to assign odds to reality is impossible because there's no other reality to compare to. No way to demonstrate that life could not have happened any other way. As soon as someone brings up odds this way, you know they're talking out of their fundament. Apparently, there isn't a named fallacy, formal or not, to describe this error of reasoning. I'd like to start calling this Han's fallacy ("Never tell me the odds") Han's Fallacy (never tell me the odds) Assigning probability to an event that already happened, to try to discredit it. See also: argument from personal incredulity and the law of truly large numbers. Of course, since your claims of Jesus fulfilling all of those prophecies are b.s. they don't even qualify for being a Han's Fallacy. You are literally Not Even Wrong.

So in Matthew, they steal a donkey AND a colt, that just HAPPENS to be nearby. And he rides BOTH... somehow. Maybe he did a Van Damme split between the donkey and the colt, like in the commercial with the two semi trucks. The prophesy was talking about a young donkey, calling it a colt. The other self-fulfilling prophesy? The one where the messiah would be called Emmanuel. So obviously, Jesus wasn't called that. So with a bit of retcon, Emmanuel is just a title! And they just put in a one liner that Jesus has that title, somehow, maybe from Van Damme.

Repent. Believe in Jesus Christ for salvation and become a new person in this life. John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Matthew 4:17 KJV From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Nothing to repent for, no one to repent to. And your babble verses don't change that.

Still nothing to be saved from. Try a new script. This one isn't working.

@@joshsheridan9511Josh why do you choose to live under what Christians created which is modern Western Civilization. Rather than living under your goddess atheistic humanist Utopias like North Korea ?
