I would have passed this one. Mostly because of the odd shape but you did such a good job with the propagations. 👌🌿

Now knowing the fact I had to completely cut it down I probably wouldn't have picked it up as well . I really wanted to keep it nice and big. 😢 They had a second one in the store, I can't remember if that one was weirdly shaped too 🤔.

just remember to also treat the soil, as mealybugs can attack the roots and spidermites can live in the soil.

Thanks for pointing that out Aiden 😊. I actually tried removing all the old soil. Unfortunately the roots were so tight it turned out to be impossible so I cut that part out. I treated the soil with the pesticide as well, it can be applied mixed in the watering can. I hope it did the job and there's no more critters in the soil 🤞🤞 ☠.

Thank you Jeff ☺️ I think whenever I personally have pest damage it's nice to really show the signs as best as I can. Once I have enough footage about pests, a dedicated video on pest spotting & treatment might be a good idea 😊

Hi Kristina :)...what a find! And just the person to buy it! This was great.....no regrets for years to come.....you will be bounded to this plant because of the overhaul....I love how you have the updates in the same video...they all are looking great...sorry about your vacation :(...I have no rehab stories and I just lost my dark lord because I did not know how to propagate a chunk that was root rotted....anyways long story of a bad seller and now the whole plant is no longer....I think the seller bought from a nursery and than sold as their own plants......we win and lose some....I am happy for you with your new babies....and please update us in the future again! You are going to get beautiful plants just wait and see! Thanks for the awsome video butterfly! Keep those wings up!

It was destiny, that I found this plant that day. As if it was waiting for me to come and fix it up 😅. I usually don't save plants often. There's just too much work and risk involved but this project was so much fun. Can't wait for the first new leaf to open up! 😁 I hope it grows as fast as yours does.

Ich würde dir wirklich empfehlen beim Umgang mit Careo Schutzkleidung und Mundschutz zu tragen. Das Zeug ist nicht gerade gesund 🫣

Absolut richtig, ich Sprüh das Zeug nur draußen und stehe immer so das der Wind von mir weg geht und wasche mir danach immer sofort die Hände/Arme. Einatmen möchte ich das wenn möglich nämlich nicht. Du hast aber recht, mit der Zeit wird man unachtsam, ist wie im Labor ^^. Barfuß sollte ich das vielleicht nicht mehr machen. Danke für die kleine Erinnerung Ellie 😊.

Yes, that's amazing, go for it Daniela! If you know the risks and take the precautions, saving plants can be a very fullfilling part of the plant hobby aaaaaand it can save you some money too 😅. Since 2021 my local garden centers are venturing more & more into rare houseplants as well, so I can find some real good deals from time to time.

Ich finde der Dehner reduziert die Pflanzen viel zu spät, die sind meist schon halb tot. Ich habe dort neulich einen tollen p. Melanochrysum und eine adansonii mint gekauft :)

Hi Susi, da muss ich dir wirklich zustimmen. Die sind meistens echt schon so drüber und alles ist komplett zerfressen von Schädlingen. Man muss echt glück haben und Pflanzen erwischen die ganz frisch auf diesen Tisch gestellt wurden. Oder eben das Risiko eingehen. Wie krass das du sogar eine Mint adansonii dort gefunden hast, Glückwunsch zu diesem Glücksfund.

Bought a Hoya that was sitting in water. Bad idea. It didn't make it. I even tried to propagate it, those rotted too, not sure why. I hate mealy bugs! I can't believe u bought them lol

Yeah they are disgusting, I was just feeling like I want to challenge myself a little bit. Sorry to hear about your Hoya, sometimes they are unfortunately unsalvagable. Root rot is a b****!

I swear I really tried cleaning the root. I sprayed them down with the hose but there were so many roots, it was impossible to remove all the soil. I just cut that part out from the video completely. I treated the soil with pesticide though, I added it to the watering can. I hope this will do the trick and kill anything in the soil as well. :)
