How I keep my 153+ Houseplant Collection in Shape

A typical plant care Sunday of a #crazyplantlady looks like this! I am slowly preparing for spring and the upcoming growing season. I started by finally propagating my Philodendron Gloriosum, the Syngonium Wendlandii & a Monstera Esqueleto (Epipremnoides). I also had to repot my Pilea Peperomioides. I did purge a few of my plants from my plant collection to make room for new things to come and sold a lot of propagations over the past week as well.
Come spend the day with me & let's do some plant chores and plant care together!
Enjoy ♥
xoxo Kristina

    Where is my never drink water gang 😅? Attention: Don't throw your leafless nodes into water like I did. You risk losing a lot of them going squishy. I will use perlite or moss in the future. What are your thoughts on the long planter & which ones can you recommend for crawlers? Please let us all know 🙏.

    I usually use long planters for crawlers, but recently I saw someone putting big crawlers ( like gloriosum) into hanging pots. actually looks great :)

    If you get a smaller one, it'll fit into a normal pot just fine. I had mine for 2 years now and this is the first time I really needed to repot it. Because of the length of the stem. If you are worried about the care, I can tell you it's really not a difficult plant. Way more chill than my other philodendrons.

    @@lamnium I cut the leaves of the stem cuttings because they kept falling over, it just didn't work out balance wise 😅 + I don't need them to propagate + after a while the old leaves usually get yellow and drop off anyway. Greetings from Germany 👋

    Such a chill vibe, love your boldness in taking cuttings. I have a Syngonium wendlandii as well, it has a runner with a few nodes. Do you recommend putting them in water, or is perlite a safer method for this plant as well?

  • @LeafyLuster

    Oh thank you Eline, always lovely to hear from you 💚. Sorry for the late reply, after having my leafless cuttings submerged in water for a while I can safely say, it is not a great idea. A lot of them turned completely squishy. I think they shouldn't be under water fully. I will stop throwing them in water like that, and instead use perlite or moss for those kinda leafless stem propagations. I guess the need acces to oxygen, I might want to research that a little more 😅.

    You're right and yes I was a little afraid so I adjusted watering to only the left side. So funny enough this results in it drying out really quickly and i need to water more often. As of right now I got 2 new leaves from it and it seem happy 😊🤞

    Isn't your Philodendron Gloriosum a dark form? I have one looking the same and I think mine is a dark form... (Fonnie Tang has a video explaining the difference compared to the regular Gloriosum) I can't wait to see what happens after propegating it!!!😃

    Thank you Sharon ☺️. I have another Pilea under a grow light. The light is too strong and the leaves also curl & warp. One of my subscribers said she also experienced the curled leaves when she was watering inconsistently. That one I can't really confirm though. For me it is just when the light is to strong. Hope this helps ☺️

    I’ve got my first Rayii and it has grown a runner with like five nodes but no leaf. If I prop the runner can I just drop the nodes in water submerged completely or should I plant them in substrate? I recently found your channel btw and I love it!

  • @LeafyLuster

    @LeafyLuster

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi & welcome to the plant gang then 😊! I'm glad you enjoy your time here. Regarding the Rayii (btw. I love this plant and it is still on my wishlist). I occasionaly throw the nodes into the water out of lazyness. If you want to make sure they all live I'd advise some sort of Perlite or Leca or Pon. Some of these leafless cuttings might end up rotting if submerged fully in water. Syngoniums are not that bad but with Monstera I had that a lot recently.
