    This was SO SATISFYING! And you're definitely inspiring me to start selling off little propagations. I suppose I first have to see how my local plant people are, and if they're interested...

    Definetly go for it. It can't hurg to try, you can test the waters with a few propagations first. If they sell l, you're off to the races 😉 wishing you best of luck in your endeavors 💚

    The tortum is beautiful, why not propagate and keep main part of the plant and sell propagation or keep a piece.

    Hi Madeline, good point, I sometimes do that with Plants where I want to keep a piece to myself. With the tortum I would always have the same problem of it taking to much space, so I gave it away completely. 💚😁 Have a great day

    I have plants i am propagating and some that is, i think, ready to sell but i still dont know how to go about that first step. I have a store that is interested in selling them, but I have to make them retail shop ready..

    If you're just starting out, getting them retail shop ready seems a bit daunting to me. I have no idea what that entails though. Selling on Facebook marketplace or similar online marketplaces seems easier and quicker to me.

    Kristina, I have scoured the interwebs, exhausted every link possible, and I cannot find frames like the ones you have used to hold your pressed leaves. Please, I am dying to know where you acquired your double-glass frames. I have so many leaves pressed in my college textbooks patiently waiting for comfortable real estate on my wall. *Insert photo of the uncomfortable old man smile*

    Great video! I’d be interested to know after taxes and supplies what the actual $ is? Or did you already do those deductions for the number you gave? I’d never ask a question like this or anything about $ but you did first. Disregard if you aren’t comfortable disclosing. Love your videos!

    I loved it! But I’m wondering - what do you do with the plants that don’t sell? Try again the next week? Wait until they’re lots bigger? I’m curious.

    Pretty much all of the above. Some sit in the shop longer than others. If they grow too tall I either propagate or list them again. Sometimes I combine them with other cuttings and make a bigger pot out of it. If all else fails I can still list them for free 😁

    You are never going to believe this, because most people don't, I just had my first visit from pests in a little over 2 years of having plants. I noticed a few mealy bugs on a Hoya I brought home almost 3 months ago. I'm definitely a helicopter plant parent so I know they haven't been here the entire time. Where do they come from? Is there a chance a newer plant brought them in and I just haven't noticed?? Wouldn't it be close to the plant that I found them on? 😳 Hopefully I got them all. Can they be in the soil too? Also I noticed the Hoya kinda stop it's growth spurt. Is that normal? When will it start to grow again? Sorry so many questions, this is definitely new to me and I'm a little freaked out.

    Hi, I had the same situation. I saw for the first time a mealy on my plants. It was on a hoya cutting I bought 2 months and a half ago. I have not bought any new plants. I was so intrigued about how it appeared in my house so I researched a lot and found out mealy eggs are tiny and can take 2 to 3 months to hatch. So probably the cutting came with an egg and I didn't noticed it despite my close inspection. I have now bought an magnifying glass to inspect closely any new plant and I'm showering any new plant with soap + rubbing alcohol when bringing them home. I started to treat my new plants as if all of them have pests despite I can see them or not 😊

    How do you know what price to set your plants at?

  • @LeafyLuster

    @LeafyLuster

    The easiest way is to just check on Google or eBay what other shops charge for similar plants. I also account for the size, overall health, and quantity of the plants as well as availability/ rarity). In the end, you can charge whatever you see fit. I no one buys the plants you'll know to make them cheaper next time 😅. Of course, it is best to know your expenses upfront, so you can cover your costs and calculate a profit on top of that.
