Love her, she takes responsibility in other interviews for not being wise financially by allowing her money to be controlled by others. She now teaches women to be aware financially so this does not happen to them. She is clearly not destitute either and is modeling again in her 50's. She will always be beautiful in my eyes.

Paulina is such a class act. She is generous, honest and real. She was hurt and treated unfairly and yet, defends how that act of disinheritance might have not have been Ric's intention. She is someone I would love to have been friends with.

I have always been a big fan of the cars and ric. Yet I don't think he was probably emotionally there for her. All her interviews sound like he ignored her and she just couldn't stand it anymore. It happens all the time as women get older. Men may stay in marriages longer then women but men also have lives outside of the home and jobs, that they put first. The wife is at home trying to make a family and giving 100 while me are giving maybe 40 percent. Men stay because they are fine with the situation. They get their cake and eat it to. Women don't. I think that's why more women leave marriages. That's just my opinion I'm not saying it is every situation but I have been around a lot of divorce and heard both sides and that is the majority of the reason the woman was done.

I lived in New Braintree, MA many years ago and my farm bordered the infamous recording studio Longview Farm. One particular day back in the 80's, I noticed a tall man with scraggly hair walking in one of my fields... I went outside and wandered over to greet the man and he explained that he was recording over at the studio. At that very moment, I suddenly realized that the person in front of me was Ric Ocasek! He explained that he had gotten lost while taking a walk and asked for directions back. Seizing on the moment, I offered to drive him back to the studio. He accepted and I was more than happy to give him a ride. A few days later, I received 2 tickets to one of their concerts and 2 backstage passes with a note that read simply; "A small gesture in return for your kind gesture. RO" I will never forget the man and that moment in time! RIP RO...

It sucks feeling betrayed by someone you trusted. I hope Paulina can heal from this.

She was the one that wanted to stay married, she even kept living with him. She did have her own money and she put it all into the marriage. Ric Ocasek stated in the will she abandoned him. She was out yahoo-ing with another man as he was ailing at home. So he was ticked off and probably said I'll show you.

I think her choice regarding how the change in the will happened is quite reasonable. It's very, very sad. I know what it feels like to be cut out by someone you loved, and it becomes the "period" on the end of the sentence of a whole lifetime's relationship. It is very hard. And it's normal that people often don't have control at the end of their lives. I think she's very brave. I wish she would make her own cosmetics line or some other enterprise that is unique and distinctive to her. She is great.

I've never been married and I truly understand how everyone goes into it hoping it will be forever. The more stories I see like this, the more I think sharing my heart with someone, esp. in marriage may not be the best thing, unless I get a pre-nup and do it that way.

No, it's when you bring your past baggage into your men or women choices and don't include God and sacrifice. It's when you marry a man that you know deep inside doesn't love you. Funny thing is, SHE actually made him and his sons secure and safe. She used her savings. She cleaned and provided. She loved and cared for. She was her own caretaker. It's when you ignore your intuition and red flags 🚩🚩...for so many years. It's when you don't see your worth and see the bigger picture. The picture being that you are an example to so many others. You live your life as a beacon of light and see that your choices will affect how others choose. Most importantly, BOTH, YOU and HIM need to have clear set objectives and similar goals from the beginning. You need to have more in common then both being the same culture and one being older. Do not let stories like this dissuade you from falling in love, getting married, and sharing your life with someone else. Marriage is not roses and tulips and sunshine 24/7. It is work. Both people have to be aware of this. Both people have to realize there is a give and take and there will be times you just want the other person to shut up and leave you alone. But when you really think about....you wouldn't want any other person to be mad at. You wouldn't want any other person to have an argument with and then make up with later. Life is a shitshow as it is, don't let other people's bad stories affect your life. That's their life. This is yours.

I have become interested in Paulina's story because I have recently re discovered The Cars. Ric Ocasek was always a strange, mysterious guy. He is the one who broke up the band and unfortunately subsequently Benjamin Orr who was a Co-Founder of The Cars was betrayed by him and never got over that after the demise of the group. But now it makes perfect sense, that's who Ric was. A person who would betray his closest friends and loved ones. How could he cut Paulina out of his will after 26 years of marriage and 2 children ! You can't even understand that.

Where did you get your story from? I had read before he died he let her go because she was much younger and healthier and he was not working and very sick. He let her go, and she left and got her own place. At that time there was no word or indication that this was anything but mutual and in fact she was ready to move on and did with his blessing.

Ric was likely hurt and angry as she probably did not spend a lot of time with him at the end of the marriage. But Ric was an asshole for not taking care of his 2 sons from previous relationship.

A real dickhead, and if it wasn't for her own traumas, she would have ditched him years ago.

But no dispute about how Ric is a total asshole for not taking care of 2 of his kids from a previous relationship. Well,Ashley Banfield is a lawyer and TV Court analyst and she is actually very good and fact driven. I think she senses Paulina is not the super innocent little Church mouse. Paulina was clear before Rick died that she had moved out, they broke up, and she was living on her own and dating other people. Now he's gone and she wants everyone to forget those little details.

It was surprising this happened. I knew three people that either worked for The Cars in the studio, friends with the band or worked for SI. The two comments they all said is she was smart as a whip and very outspoken. It is odd to hear her lose her accent.

She IS a wealthy woman - she's just greedy and wants more - like Ric's music royalties that he had before their marriage. What we do know is that Paulina herself announced being separated and going through a divorce on social media. She was separated for years before Ric's death. She was seen in the media all dressed up with her boyfriend director Ed Soloman while Ric was ill. Now she's trying to become relevant again off her famous ex's death and complaining she didn't get everything. She is greedy and ghoulish.

It sounds like she was married to a narcissist. When she asked him for a divorce it took away his control over her, so taking her out of the will was his way of punishing her. She was also, obviously way better looking than him. He knew this and felt intimidated by her beauty and independent success and was jealous. Some men can’t handle that kind of competition. They can’t deal with the attention, because they want it all for themselves, so he wanted to discredit her publicly . He was determined to be on top of her and everything else. He probably manipulated her into handing over her income. More control. She got played by her husband and it sounds like he was doing this from go for years. He saw how vulnerable she was and didn’t believe in herself and needed attention and love and he probably love bombed her in the beginning to gain her trust, then control of her. That’s why he lost interest in the end, because she grew wise and tired of his games and in turn he discarded her . He needed a new source for his narcissistic supply because she wasn’t taking it anymore. So he made sure he punished her even from beyond the grave. Narcissist can’t stand to loose.

I think it’s because she was divorcing him he realised how beautiful and younger she was and she’d find someone else and they’d spend his money. I’d say he did it out of spite.

What happened to the Estee Lauder money? She had a contract with them for many years.

She probably loved him but kind a slap from the grave that she still living with him but they were getting a divorce but he cut her out but she was still watching out for him. She seems like nice person but he probably a genouis but maybe narristic qualities so he left to there kids.

She was a very smart and beautiful and ambitious immigrant when he left his wife and other children for her while old enough to be her father. Sorry, but I'm not shedding any tears.

She is still so beautiful I don't understand why no one is putting her on the covers of magazines smh I think its a bad look and a bad business move not to because I think they're is still so much potential they're too be had and it's really a shame no one is jumping at this but I promise you they will regret it one day and it will be too late but let's hope I'm wrong and someone will scoop this beautiful woman up and take this opportunity because what one person might think is old can be new to another

All you have is your integrity, and Paulina has it in spades imho. My guess is the divorce settlement was supposed to divide their assets so there was no need to recognize each other in the will once they were divorced. I've just recently lost my mom& beyond all the grief and heartache, there's a lot of time-sensitive stuff about the estate you need to settle. Definitely a worse-before-better situation.

In reality, she has zero integrity. She’s a liar. She had a side piece, and that’s what she doesn’t want anyone to know.

He was a covert narcissist. There is no other reason for him to treat her like that. I wish she would speak more about what really went on in their relationship to help women. What he did is so cruel. And for what just to hurt her. He was envious of her.

Lol I didn't know you knew Ric personally? tell me more about him lmao you're just taking sides here when you have no idea what actually went on, Ric can't speak anymore and what he did say was that she abandoned him and that's why he changed his will, why are you ignoring that? why is her word worth more than his? also he has every right to change his will and I don't think he would have changed his will at the last minute for no reason, there must have been a reason, whether his wife thinks it was justified or not. Also "what he did was so cruel" lol you all acting like she is now a pauper, she sold their house for 10 million and she is still out here looking like a super model so spare me the violin. Of course there may be truth in her side too, she may have been wrongfully removed but moral is you just don't know so stop acting like you do, I don't know what went on either but I am definitely taking Ric's side into account, when celebrities leave a will that someone in their family is unhappy about it always show true colours, if she was being truthful then she shouldn't want any of his will, if he wrongly took her out then she should want none of it, I know I wouldn't but yet she is trying to make the will invalid, and what does Ric's sons have to say about this? notice how none of them are speaking constantly about this like she is. She just keeps victimizing herself but I have to understand she is a feminist so that's to be expected. Also you think she should speak to help women? apparently you think only women are victims in relationship when in reality men are victims of bad relationships just as much as women are, but this is irrelevant since she claims to love him and to have had a good marriage so there is nothing to tell, she got written out of the will because Ric felt like she abandoned him and maybe she did or maybe he just thought she did either way both those are valid, she was dating someone else while still being married to him so again no one knows but those involved so maybe stop demonizing Ric when you don't know what made him do it.

@@TheEndOfTheMoon narcissists have abandonment issues. The abandonment wasn't real, he perceived the abandonment in his head. She was younger and healthy, he was sickly and older. He couldn't handle that so he felt abandoned in his mind.
