The reason is defender's option to lace legs. For all wrestling specialists I'd like that's my opinion I developed after many years of practice, don't judge too harshly

Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours

Nice. In judo we call this yoko guruma. I normally use tani otoshi in this situation instead of ura nage/suplex.

I prefer the hurga ruma personally, i guess it's personal preference.
I love your explanation, and especially the part where you show the attack with the leg. You make the attacks look so casual, it's a beautiful demonstration of fundamentals. The throw and explanation are excellent as well.

Love this. Was trained to throw traditional when I was younger. Now my back is mush from work. I see how I can throw again.

(Judoka) Nice clean execution and explanation. I particularly like the combi with a side-stepped Uchi Mata. It would be good to have a ko soto gari or tani otoshi to go with this. Crash mats are definitely a good idea when teaching this to normal mortals.

I was wondering (e.g. for MMA purposes) how one would do a gi-less throw. Getting the leverage with the arm between the opponents leg is perfect. Nicely done!

Wow. Got instant results! Tried this on my little cousin. Couldnt lift but i curled my leg with his and it was much easier to spin him to the floor
Hello, greetings from Mexico, do you know if this technique would work for Nogi Jiu Jitsu? Suppose that instead of taking the back of the kimono, we do an Overhook and throw the takedown, would it still work?
You're awesome
I've seen a throw starting similar to a suplex, but where the thrower instead of arching and falling backwards somehow flips him 90° to the side and simply drops him. The beauty is that he remains standing, while the other hits the mat hard. I would like to know what kind of technique that is. I also would like to know, if it requires more strength than skill. I've seen that in some cases the victim was just as big and the aggressor and the aggressor didn't look like a bodybuilder...
Not only is this technique for Phenomenal but the translator does a great job of keeping up he must do some math work as well aces and stars all around Super subscribed always going to like keep it up

Seemed like when he decided to throw he went from 0-100 instantly. For some reason I wasn't expecting that kind of quickness.

@chriscracknell1593

Unless there is something that has to happen on the way for purposes of deception or timing, then all attacks should start as close to 0 as possible and go straight to full out. Anything else is just throwing initiative and energy away. (I am not talking about slower formsof practice carried out while learning the throw.)

You guys have an interesting show. It's more than Judo shown. Give more nuances and intricasies. Do you use off balancing/kuzushi or is it primarily brute strength.

We use the principles of physics and that's enough
@Noone-rt6pw
2 жыл бұрын
Would you have any references explaining the physics? As Judo, my understanding is, if their weights forward, you help with one of the hip throws, if to rear, help them with a technique that direction. But being able to help unbalance, push, they shove forward, where then enter and down they go. This is the most physics I'm aware of.

Awesome technique. Legitimate question: If the option to suplex happens, should I try it? Less safe, but there's the possibility for a KO land, etc.

@@bobbyuk3607 you can't force a throw on a larger person. You must get good at taking advantage of the way they move. You're not throwing them as much as you are helping them throw themselves. But that's easier said than done
