Why lateral drop is more effective than suplex for Sambo and Judo. How to do lateral drop. The difference between two throws is minor but one particular detail in lateral drop that favors it in sambo and judo.

The reason is defender's option to lace legs. For all wrestling specialists I'd like that's my opinion I developed after many years of practice, don't judge too harshly

Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours

I've seen a throw starting similar to a suplex, but where the thrower instead of arching and falling backwards somehow flips him 90° to the side and simply drops him. The beauty is that he remains standing, while the other hits the mat hard. I would like to know what kind of technique that is. I also would like to know, if it requires more strength than skill. I've seen that in some cases the victim was just as big and the aggressor and the aggressor didn't look like a bodybuilder...

Unless there is something that has to happen on the way for purposes of deception or timing, then all attacks should start as close to 0 as possible and go straight to full out. Anything else is just throwing initiative and energy away. (I am not talking about slower formsof practice carried out while learning the throw.)

Would you have any references explaining the physics? As Judo, my understanding is, if their weights forward, you help with one of the hip throws, if to rear, help them with a technique that direction. But being able to help unbalance, push, they shove forward, where then enter and down they go. This is the most physics I'm aware of.
