Douglas Murray is brilliant. I’ve read a couple of his books. No, he is not a Christian but his argument (to try to distill down his work to a single comment) is different beliefs create different cultures and the western culture originally was Christian. Christian belief creates better culture than Islam for example.

Reminds me of Tolstoy...The Kingdom of God is Within You. Christian Atheism. Without the resurrection of Christ, we are all fools.

In LA the rent is 5 times higher than it was 20 years ago. I'd love to rent a garage and live in it if I could find one. I watch your podcast and work but I don't enjoy homelessness. I make the best of it. I could always give up and move to Morraco where rent is reasonable but I grew up here .

Decency and Charity are completely different things with the same outward appearance. Being a good decent person merits nothing if it is not first motivated by love of Christ. This is why you see popular Jews in today's culture (like Ben Shapiro and Dennis Prager) talk about being decent and following moral law. Charity is the most important theological virtue because it is the only one we will carry into the afterlife. There is no faith in heaven when you see the face of God, and there is nothing to hope for once you are there. But charity lives on The story of Christianity isn't just a good story, it is THE story. It is true litterly, historically, metaphysically, and in every single possible way.

whenever a white racist makes a comment like his, they seem to forget that: (1) White folks were complete garbage before Christianity, as bad as anyone else; (2) Christianity every else in the world has had to live oppressed. Truth is, if Rome wasn't on the downside, chances are Christianity in the West would be just as oppressed as it is around the world.

Christ is King; but Mary is no queen.

Bro, yes, she was called new eve by church fathers. John gospel makes that clear. He organized his gospel to reflect days of creation from genesis. Mary shows up on 7th day.

Go look up what the mother of a Davidic King is and come back. Mary is the Gebirah since Jesus is the King

So is he basically saying, that Christianity only "sounds good to poor people"? And that its more fruitful to tell the story to poor people than an other story? You know that this is EXACTLY what atheists are sayin, that Christianity just sounds good for poor people and is just a story for them to feel good and be docile. So whats the point of this video??

He said it causes people to DO good because they are motivated by more than just a set of values--but a real set of events. He wasn't saying it simply sounds good.

Not just the poor, but anybody who is the (for lack of better terms) oppressed class. Non-Christian cultures are a power game, so whoever's at the top of the power game has every reason to reject Christianity. Even the bible hints that this was going on among the religion's first converts: "remember what you were when you were called". The addition of the feel good and docile claim is just polemic. You don't defeat a nation without warfare by being docile and feeling good.
