Why is the Rangeman SOFT?

It will shock you to your core when you find out why the Rangeman has a SOFT URATHANE BEZEL!

This article I read was from the G-Shock international website. It answered a question I had about why the front bezel feels so rubbery. It's supposed to be that way.
The other thing it cleared up is why range the rangeman is a ranger of. I thought it was a military gun range. Comenters ridiculed me for thinking that. Whatever.

    This article is a great marketing material. Don't get me wrong, I know the watch will survive mud and dirt, or even diesel. Most of the g-shocks will survive. The cheap DW -5600e square is a NASA flight approved g-shock and can survive in the vacuum of space. With this new rangeman the limiting factor is the charging, but it's great for the rescue teams. The older model gw9400 was very popular in the military and now I think the new mudman will be also very popular.

    I own the gwg b1000 Mudmaster, wich has an intricate and angular shape steel bezel. This bezel is a weapon ;-) it can hurt and scratch the skin or any soft surface. Definitly not a rescue wrist watch. I love it however !

    I think it is soft to better absorb the shocks. elasticity will dissipate energy before it reaches the core device within the protective body.

    I have just been looking at the bezel screws on my GGB100 and the bump stops are at an angle so one side of the screws are protected but just protrude slightly on one side.my GWGB1000 has only one half of the screws protected but the my GW7900 the screws stick up slightly above the bezel I guess some of it is how the designer wanted to watch to look

    What are your thoughts on the GA-110 vs GA-140?

  • @JimKinkade

    @JimKinkade

    3 ай бұрын

    They’re both so similar! It depends on the specific colorway. Some color combos on both models don’t have enough contrast between the hands and the face. I would take the 140 since the shape of the hands are of a more pronounced arrow and I feel like that adds to the legibility.

  • @JimKinkade

    @JimKinkade

    The thing is , Russ, I don’t really like either of those because the dial is too busy. If you’re looking for an ani-digi in that price range check out the GA700. Much cleaner dial.

    Mud is nothing! My GD350BR took diesel, oil and a substance like WD40 for one year at work. At the end the settings button worked not perfect but i cleaned all the watch and it work absolutely perfect even now. I also own a full metal gmw b5000. G-Shocks are something else in durability. But i barelly use them now, i prefer a Samsung Watch6ClassicLTE, in a much cleaner work space, but still i ndustrial.

    It's soft like a penis.....new Rangeman AKA Dick Steele....ok, without jokes now, that doesn't have to be a bad thing, maybe it's not a bad idea for a shock resistance, and also for a general comfort at the wrist. By the way, GPR-B1000 didn't been the only one, that was the most advanced digital Casio, I think to this day, maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. But it didn't been the only one, that period 2016.-2018. was a period of insane high end Casios.....for example, GPW-2000 Gravitymaster was definitely the most advanced analog Casio, and it's still to this day, I'm 100% sure. That's the analog piece of art, a masterpiece from Casio....a work of completely insane team from Casio. I really believe that Casio will sooner or later make some updated version of a Dick Steele, and it should be okay, but I'm also sure the price tag will be insane, too. Like

    People are just a pile of poop, a sheeps without the brain, there's no other explanation. People want to follow up the Slice of Darkness GPRB1000, now they want it, but at the time when it was released a critics destroyed it despite it was the most advanced digital Casio ever made, and it's still to this day???? Off course, that was the reason why the watch didn't been sold in a huge numbers, people didn't like it, that's it.....and NOW when it's discontinued they want it? Maybe a part of the reaon was that thing was introduced in Basel, which was really brave from Casio, they had to introduce it in Tokyo. Now they want to follow it up, to bring it back? It's too late now. A same situation was with the best analog Casio ever, GPW2000....there's a lot of really legendary Casios from the past which was gems, but the sheeps (a people) buried it as soon as it was released.@@JimKinkade
