I agree. A real disappointment. A big step down in build quality (and to be fair cost too) and no navigation. I wish they had made a GPR-B2000 instead. I would willingly pay £800 to £1000 for it. It should not require a phone to work and MUST have Multiband 6.

I have the new gpr-h1000 Rangeman too and I do not connect mine to Bluetooth either. I have mine on airplane mode 24/7 and the battery is at 4 bars. I initially received the watch brand new from Japan with 5, but it dropped 1 bar when I set the watch up and played around with its functions for an hour or more on the first day that I got it. It’s still on 4 bars today. I wear it outside in the sun for a few hours every day. The battery life bar has not gone up to 5 bars yet. I’ve been wearing it for almost 1 week now. It will hopefully go up another 1 bar to 5 bars with the exposure that I give it to the sun while wearing it on my wrist.

I have the GW9400J, The Gpr B1000 and the new yellow watch! The new watch is an entirely different entity to the other two, especially the Gpr b1000. The new watch is a very good watch for normal everyday use and fitness monitoring for gym dwellers. I agree it is absolutely not entitled to be called a Rangeman and casio should have given it its own category. Its great that the new watch has a huge range of features and is competitively priced. Its a brilliant fitness watch but it is light, feels cheaper and far less durable. Its father and grandfather are deeply disappointed in the new generation

Alex from Romania here bro!! i'm in the staff from Casio Collectors fb group with over 3.6k members ..thanks for featuring my comment :D avid gshock collector here, and of all my g's, rangeman is by far my fave..i have like 22(rangemans) and parts to make at least 10 more :))) its a pitty they screwed the master of g lineup with the protrek / gbdh modules...i dont know if its lazyness on their behalfd or they dont want to invest in R&D for new modules..in any case the collector comunity from what i noticed is preety pissed with the last 2 master of g releases...And regarding what you said with the 9400 still selling, i dare to think that its days are numbered just because the 9500 does the same thing as the 9400 plus is planned not to last ast much as the old one (because of the bioplastic wich i can bet in 2 or 3 years of use will degrade much faster than the old resin and carbon fiber used on the 9400) and one thing that makes me think this is the fact that they reelased it a few months ago and they already have 2 limited version available (one wich should have been a love the sea 9400)

Only reason for Casio to gather user info such as email is to profile their customers, not doing that... Depends on what you'll be using it for. I ordered one. It's a good watch. I saw all the negative comments on it and swapped it for the Rangeman GPR B1000, which I find heavy and too large. However the GPR B1000 is a well built watch. The GPR H1000 should've been put as an updated GBD-H2000. This is a good watch, that fits and wears well. I also have many years with Garmin as a runner, and you really can't compare this to the Garmin, as the Garmin is a beast for fitness and health tracking. I ordered the GPR H1000 again, as the week I owned one, I realised what a great watch it was. It feels comfortable on the wrist, has some good tracking and fitness tools inside, and in my eyes it's a great watch, where you can get your smart notifications (if you want), health and fitness tracking, and above all it's a great piece for the money. The GPR B1000 like I said is a great watch if you're out in the wilderness and need to find your way out of the Amazon or equivalent, but this is also a great watch. If like Garmin they'll be software updates moving forward, this would be an even better watch. The Garmin Instinct 2 Solar is a great watch in its own sense, but if you don't need all that Garmin have to offer, and are looking for a good looking, comfortable watch that you can wear all day and night. I'd say go for it. G Shock has a great range of options, and this is one of them. If this is your only daily driver, then the Garmin Instinct is also a good option, but I'm going to stay with this, as it's a good looking and comfortable watch, with enough features. It should be a replacement for the GBD-H2000 I think. G Shock have their followers, and this is a good watch that fits in the line so long as you accept it for what it is. Casio made a great move with this watch and can build on it, and will gain some happy new users with it. As with all things, this is not for everyone. It's a great watch for the money 100%.

Great video, so the conclusion is correct, this is not a rangeman. The new GW-9500 mudman is also a good rangeman, and a protrek. You cannot tell anymore which one it is. Last week I was searching for some tools, and I find my more than 10 years old G-9000 mudman in a toolbox. I never thought of it, it was missing for years. Battery was dead and I was curious to see if it's working with the new battery. I was lucky, the old one doesn't leaked, and I have this watch on my wrist now. The dual electroluminescence illuminator is great. Lot of memories. Now this was a proper mudman with the covered buttons. The new rangeman? I don't know what it is.

Well, what can you say about the toughness, and looks of a G-Shock. Like no other. Outstanding. I think I NEED one. I can't see myself wearing a smart watch, if there's a G-Shock.

I don't know Jim....speaking about the hiking, it's very important to understand and explain to the people that the mountain is completely another universe, no matter how it looks. Also, a low temperature can affect the watch without any problem. (It can affect a human being also, I'm talking from my own experience) Up to 1000 meters of height, I would be perfectly happy with my 40 years old digital Marlin in the pocket, and with a nice little handheld GPS device around the neck, attached to the necklace. Everything above 1000 meters, GPR-B1000 and a handheld device, nothing less, plus a lot of preparation.....off course, very good hiking shoes are lot more important than a watch. Garmin isn't the same as a G shock, that's a big difference, Garmin is a smartwatch, G shock isn't, or it shouldn't be, because it's invented as a rugged, durable and usable thing. Like

That's right, I've never took my King at the mountain, but anyway, every watch have some specific operating temperature, even the Rangeman....a watch isn't a primary tool at the mountain. This new Rangeman will be affected, at least the screen....everything is affected by the temperature, no matter, too low or too high, some special watches will recover, like a GWG-1000 Mud boy, or a GPR-B1000 because that's a low temp screen, but a huge amount of the automatics will be affected (the oil inside which lubricates the jewels isn't designed for a hell). Manual winding watches will be affected too, a main spring isn't so ''springable'' below or above the certain temperature@@JimKinkade

Well, maybe you should not only look at the price, but also to the bang, you get for your money! Considering, what a Garmin Enduro2 has to offer(simply everything possible in a watch) and THEN compare it to the new Casio Rangeman (costing 596 Euros in Germany, which equals $ 649 not 500), I WOULD SAY: The Garmin Enduro is a freakin BARGAIN to the Casio New Rangeman, which can almost NOTHING in comparission , pretty lame functions like the stopwatch and timer, which are a joke! AGAIN: 649 DOLLARS, not 500 in Germany(and Europe at all). I`m sure, IF CASIO would build a watch like the Garmin Enduro 2 , they would ask 2500 Dollars for it! No doubt about this! Guess, who`s putting NOW a laughing smilie behind his words! 🤣😂🤣😂😝👻👻👻 "The last one, who`s laughing, laughs the best!" we say in Germany Greetings and God bless from Southern Germany

@@wasknownasthemedriocre INDEED! The Enduro 2 is more than worth its money, while the New rangeman absolutely is not! But okay, take the Instinct 2 X and it`s again: " Bye bye Casio!" In Germany the New Rangeman is 596 Euro (equals $649!!) only about 150 euros difference, while the sheer endless possibilities of functions of the Garmin Enduro 2 justifies more than just 150 euros difference to this Casio, could you agree at least to this fact? That`s why I brought my Enduro 2 into play to this topic! Well if someone pays $ 649 for this Rangeman, why should he not be able to pay 100 or 150 dollars more to get a real deal of a survival watch. Don`t let the martial appearance of the new rangeman fool you: Only because it looks tough, doesn`t mean, it`s real tougher, than the titanium housing of the Enduro 2 . Just think about it (no guessing here!): Only because a woman looks like a bombshell, doesn`t mean, she`ll give you the best night, you ever had! ...know, what I mean? 😄😄
