In this case I beleive that Arjun is the target. Combining the statements which Kalabhavan sobi gave and KSRTC driver, there was a car which was chasing it and then there sobi told that he saw two people with suspicious activity. So connecting the dots it might be that one car had chased for some reason and Arjun was the sole person who knew that he was chased. He might have got tensed and lost his control in driving. Further to that the car had hit a tree and an accident occured. In that case after the accident two suspicious people might have intercepted and taken whatver they wanted and might have escaped. Grill that Arjun nicely! Relating that Prakash thampi and Vishnu they were keeping a close relation with Balu was to use him for there activities without the knowledge of balu. He is an artist who travels frequenty to Gulf countries for shows, those countries are the place where the smugglers purchase the items(i believe so). Those two people might have even used balus equipments as there hiding safe spot.
