Why Iran's attack on Israel was simple 'Kinetic Diplomacy'
On Saturday, Iran launched some 300 drones and missiles at Israel in an attack many feared could bring about World War III… But in reality, all that transpired was kinetic diplomacy playing out in real time, as has happened numerous other times throughout this most recent era of Middle Eastern conflicts.
Let's talk about what that means, and what actually happened during this attack.

There was less than 170 missiles (80% being ballistic, the rest cruise), with the remaining ordinance being drones. So whether that 7 figure is literally missiles, or just ordinance in total that hit, could be higher or lower than 2.1%. But also, is important to factor in exactly WHAT was hit. It's easy to tell where a ballistic missile will hit, and Israel might've opted to let certain ones land, prioritizing other ones that would've hit important targets. I heard that some that landed in the airbase, apparently hit the runway, which was shown to have repair work finishing up that very morning after. _(at least, repaired _*_enough,_*_ to be operational again)_

"Kinetic Diplomacy" is fairly accurate. Think of it as a warning shot. That's a time-honored form of communication, "I'm serious. If you don't stop, my next move is to attack." Talk is cheap, and many threats in geopolitics never see any follow-through. This kind of warning shot is intended to clear up any miscommunication or miscalculation that could lead to open war. I get a bit anxious anytime I see it come to missiles over the middle east, but we can also feel some relief that Iran played it like this. If they really wanted to go to war soon, there wouldn't be a warning shot to make sure the US could bring their ships closer and give Israel time to warm up their defences.

Inferior? Well, it depends on how you look at it. Was almost everything shot down? Yes. So it can be seen as a big win for Israel. However, if you look at the cost you see a different picture. How much did the attack cost Iran? 5 Million? 50 Million? How much did the defence cost Israel? Something between 1 and 1.5 BILLION! While the exact numbers manufactured are not known, they have a 20 year head start on Iran, so you can bet they have at least as many as Iran. Their cruise missiles have a range of 1200km that has been fitted for most of their 70+ F-35's, which can bring them a decent distance inside Iran and fire away and return home safely without refueling and the cruise missile can then reach a target anywhere in Iran.

Totally agree on your concept of the Iranian attack on Israel being a non escalatory. issue. However , I would two critical factors. 1. Iran had to retaliate so as not to erode public support and stability albeit dictatorial stability in the land and maybe more importantly it’s 2. In making a public announcement of a strike giving the figuratively number, launch times, speed, types used and their trajectories Iran forestalled an Israel strike on ALL their nuclear research facilities, enrichment plants and whatever else that deals with their obvious nuclear intentions. Destroying the equipment and personnel working on this nuclear program would be catastrophic to the Iranian regime.
My Boy! Straight up knowledge bombs dropped on KZread! The best phrase coined by yourself & the best breakdown of tit for tat diplomacy currently on this channel! I salute u sir as u have just broke down everything that’s happened thus far with greater knowledge of war & correct language to fit the action’s we are seeing in real time!
Thanks Alex for your level headed and not to mention CORRECT reporting!

It is not correct. Already debunked by the white house today.
I just recently was talking to a friend about this, and even used the same phrase of this being a "turn-based strategy game". Fantastic video, as usual.

WaPo reports they have the highly enriched material and could convert it to enough weapons grade material for 3 bomb's worth, in _"a few days to a few weeks"._ So I don't think it makes much difference when Israel decides to retaliate. Still, it's conjecture and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Truly perplexing to me. The way I see it it's the US. A functionary of the government is on record saying "we can not afford another war" (clearly addressed to the Israelis, and, of course, not economically/militarily, but more like in a "we don't really want the light headache" kind of way). Which also implies they are ok with having one war running hot at the moment, no problem with that, let's enjoy the show and make it last longer by withholding aid, for democracy and freedom.
Hey Alex @Sandboxx I am trying to put my air force friends on your channel. I remember there was a video you had showing where you were cited in a congressional report/document for your work but I can't for the life of me find it. Do you happen to remember which video it is? Thanks! Love your work. Also does the Sandboxx app have your news articles or no? Cheers. I watch you every morning.
Thank you for the sober analysis of what happened.

France, UK, Jordan , USA and Israel, each took down a number of drones and Ballistic missiles, it wasn't only the USA tax payers footing the bill. Also, F18 Super Hornets were loaded with sidewinder missiles to shoot many incoming threats, sidewinders cost less than patriot missiles and far less than Navy launched SM-6 missiles I believe.
Very sane, logical.... and reassuring analyses and delivery. Thanks you for that.

What are the chances that Iran’s attack was just an intel gathering operation that they are using to get a better understanding of Israel’s defense apparatus?

Alex, (if I may call you by your first name), great analysis, and great coinage of a term. I'll be using that one going forward. It's a sure shot that when you post something I don't have to watch the whole thing before clicking the like button. Yeah, I noticed that. I think Israel's 1947 land has to be protected but that's ridiculous. They're a rich country. Like, poor Americans are paying taxes that go into funding their military so that their government can afford a salary to the ultraorthodox to not work and not serve in the military.

Meanwhile all the nuclear energy institutions are BEGGING Russia to stop firing on the biggest nuclear power plant in Europe.
My concern isn't Iran starting WW3, it's Israel. Their government has shown a willingness to escalate to maintain an aggressive stance. If they can goad Iran into a kinetic fight, it might pull in the US and other allies. This is really dangerous. And as usual everyone in the region sees Palestinians as disposable. Even more so now that they should really own one of the largest oil and gas reserves in the world. Edit: that's not to say that Iran didn't want to start this and goad Israel into what it's doing now. That serves Iran's goals of not letting Israel or Palestine from getting at the aforementioned oil and gas. Iran doesn't want a direct fight though because their air force might as well not exist. And as Ukraine has shown, Russian air defense equipment is less than stellar.

@@user-ij6mf2hp3rthe Israeli strike on the Iran consulate in Syria was an escalation by Israel. Israel had to know there would be a response from Iran, and in fact that may have been their intention. Today we’re not talking about Gaza or civilian deaths, or settlers burning down houses in the West Bank, we’re talking about how bad Iran is, and sending Israel a military aid package. Looks like their strategy worked. Also Netanyahu needs the conflict to continue for his own political survival, so it worked out well for him on political level too.
