I will say I do agree with your point on characters "dying" then just coming back, after the duplicate girl came back it was kinda a disappointment. Obviously though this is based on the comic so anything story-based can't be changed. I also do feel like the release dates were a bit wack too, but animation takes time. I would 100% prefer them to release all 8 episodes weekly unlike how they released 4 episodes, paused, then released the last 4 episodes.

Yeah I feel like they stretched out too many arcs in this show. Like Mark has pretty much the same plot with him wanting to balance college/superhero/girlfriend stuff even though that was the same thing he struggled with in the first season. I really don't understand why he wants to go to school so bad like he has other stuff to do. Rex prolly should've gotten that arc in the first season as well it did not need to take 2 seasons for him to finally be likeable.

@@atomic4274 I do get that 100% but if you really listen to what they explain about each person is Rex himself was experimented on through this childhood which gave him the durability to withstand a bullet that scalped him just about. He can’t fully deflect a bullet but internal damage won’t fully take him out.

@mcleanimfify my major problems with this tv show were the release schedule, the DC similarities which I did say wasn't even a problem and the fact that all these characters just die and come back. Regardless if it's do with budget or following the comic timeline. I still do think that them coming back all the time is something I didn't really like. I get why Donald and Kate are still alive I even pointed that out, but even Rex gets shot in the brain and he's alive still and situations like that happening over the course of this show took me out of it.

I understand were your coming from i feel the same way about season 2 but not because the writing suffers or anything like that its because it doesn't end with mark getting his new suit and i know whats coming since ive read the entire comic many times so this season didn't adapt as much material as i thought it would have.

Yeah Mark's arc consisted of taking to many ass whoopings that he finally kills someone and that did not need to take two seasons to happen.

I get the confusion with characters death, I didn’t have it since I’ve read the comics, Allen’s and Kates return were explained much better and gender swapped Shrinking Ray was instantly consumed and killed off in the comics , I’m assuming their trying to utilize him or now her I guess since they lost a bunch of the characters since they don’t have the right’s to characters like tech jacket. All I have to say is many important characters will permanently die and more fake out deaths will also take place 😂

You know that the show goes sort of off the comic. So on top of being a jab at there release schedule and how long it took for the season to come out at all. But on top of that in the comics they did a similar bit of comics taking long to come out

Yeah I just didn't like the release schedule it kinda ruined the hype for me and even when all eight episodes came out I didn't really find myself enjoying it as much as I did the last season. I think that release schedule kinda gave me more mixed feelings than anything.

As far as character deaths go allen was supposed to be like he gets stronger every time he almost dies. The problem with kate was that if she did die people would be mad she didn't do what she just did. Shrink ray died in the comics i was kinda upset she lived. As for the story i really feel like you're missing why invincible was different from dc but for only being a lil bit into the story i won't rag on that too much. Im a comic reader through and through so I'd still say give it a chance

Actually no because in the Invincible comic *Years before the show was even made* The extra same scene was drawn about how looong comics take too make. I really don't mind DC and invincible similarities, I don't share any of the gripes you do with the show. I enjoy the show regardless, it's funny, it can get intense at points and it's bloody. I liked the multiverse travel/references in the show as well, I plan to keep watching and I anticipate the next season with excitement

Yeah people have been telling me it was a parody, but I also said it was a "major critique" only bc I kinda feel like I already know how thus story is going to play out since it does have a lot similarities in a bunch of stuff I have seen in DC.

Spoilers** Of all the deaths that never where, I think duplicate should have stayed dead until later in season 3 or so, and the shrink girl should have stayed dead. I think Rex is supposed to die a little later, and his “not dead” scene is way too bad @$$ to complain about. Allen is supposed to be brutally beaten to really get that zenkai boost. So I don’t mind the near deaths, except for the shrink girl who has no reason to stay alive in the story. Unless the show wants to actually give her an arc or something worth keeping her alive.

Now even a character with no character growth (shrink ray pun) can be put on the chopping block. I liked the lizard fight BECAUSE people were actually dying. But then they just took it back like a typical comic book story.

Injustice was made way after the Invincible comic started, if anything Invincible's take on evil Superman isn't a copycat motive. Robert Kirkman (the creator) clearly loves superheroes and the Guardians don't CHEAPEN the story but provide a message. Invincible's story is a commentary on how flawed the genre is. Eg. Darkwing shows that not everyone has Kryptonite, the Guardian's brutal murder explains how if in a mainstream story the Justice League faced a villain that doesn't hold back and is out of their 'league', shit comes not for kids. If anything you look at the comics, it tries to subvert what other companies do. Invincible unlike Spider-man stays married and DOES get a good ending. Superhuman violence still has a more realistic impact on shattering people's lives and mental health than other companies do. Eg. Realistically supervillains would brutalise people. Being able to easily slaughter people is traumatising. Cities are destroyed by villains but the impact it has on people's life, relationships, family, and mental health, told from an ordinary person's perspective is more than anything we got from Age of Ultron. The closest thing is that it motivated many villains but the brutal honesty that Thanos would rip people's arms off (or slaughter a human with a punch) is never addressed. Injustice provides no ACTUAL perspective on how ordinary people tie in or FEEL like they matter to this plot. Invincible changes all this, Debbie Grayson showing this.

True but not everything has to be realistic. I would never mind a story with more fantasy and stuff like DC. I do feel the weight and impact these events have in the invincible characters like in the boys but I do think that characters like Omni man and the viltrum empire are made less emposing whenever Cecil can just teleport and can bring Donald back to life better.

You wouldn't want to live in this kind of fantasy, but it's Invincible who has the anti-escapism messages, not them. You shouldn't want to Invincible, as he's got a brutal life. So does Spider-Man, but he portrays ordinary police as boring. You'd want to be William than Mark but you don't want to be Ned. Life in Invincible matters to story, and every death has weight. Injustice's brutal deaths don't say any of this. That isn't a good thing.

@@atomic4274 They do. But in the world of comics, Invincible is worshipped and stands out from a lot. It's a modern rarity, from the consistency in everything to that phenomenal ending that is extremely hard to feel. Invincible is much more refreshing in the recent superhero fatigue.

so much hate for an opinion, like dont get me wrong i personally enjoyed invincible. But the people that are mad that you didnt READ THE COMICS to understand THE SHOW is crazy.
