    First guy didn't make sense at all. He would just show clip and act like we knew what he was taking about. Second guy was just expecting the same action and evil villain as S1, which I sorta get, but considering S3 is going to be crazy (Conquest👀), the slow-down is needed, and might I add, nice to watch. I disagree. the second guys point about The finale being more weak is true to me. Animation makes it seem so slow that when mark is near Levy its edited and animated in a way that marks is barely moving at running speed when he is not. Like I get what they are trying to do but they cant animate nor edit to make it seem like Debbie is in danger. Levy opens his portal in like 4 seconds how fucking slow mark is that he cant go across a room that fast. And all the alternate stuff was really fast paced Mark getting tired with all this was shown for like 3 10 second clips. I am not even talking about how levy dies halfway through the episode. tbh if all I have scene was the show levy would feel like a villain of the week. I recommend people to just skip the episode and read comics version of it they kinda butcher it. not bad but considering how the show looks %90 of the time they cloudve atleast had some budget for the finale. all the actions scenes are slide shows Its a popular show I don’t get how this doesn’t even get as much love as a cartoon network show. And my god they atleast could’ve recreated* the Nolans “I miss my wife” panel it feels like they acted lazy nor dont care about the show. Edit: I like the show I really do but after reading the comics it feels really poorly adapted

    Yeah I get wanting to slow down a bit between major villains, but still season 2s finale really felt kinda lackluster to me. It’s just not as entertaining to see Mark fly through random portals then it is watch the brutal beat down from Omni Man in season one. Also Angstrom levy was a giant threat in the comics.

  • @zjmstrash7181

    @zjmstrash7181

    Ай бұрын

    @phenseant 1. Levy at the time basically was a villian of the week, people only feel this way because it's a season finale, it wasn't an issue in the comics becuase of the fact that there was no long break between the next story arc. (They didn't butcher it just because the animation wasn't good) 2. also its not a matter of budget, an inexperienced studio from Vancouver is animating the show and they don't even have the same animation director as last time as it was outsourced. 3. Also tf do you mean "And my God they could have make "the I miss my wife"panel, they did? I'm assuming English isn't your first language but this doesn't even make sense as a criticism. And lastly not understanding why it gets love is just silly, everything is in place for it to be popular and liked. Legit the only long running issue has been the animation.

    not even kidding, I was just watching that same first video criticism of Invincible a few days ago and his explanation about Debbie being told what happened by Mark being bad writing triggered me lol. Debbie has a very understandable reaction and her restating something Mark already said beneath a cut isn’t lazy writing, it’s her letting emotions out. Thank you for making these video breakdowns and nagging at bad takes, it’s helping people understand to not take criticism as is. Everyone will perceive media differently, and that’s okay but to bash on something because you don’t like it is only okay if you have actual understandable criticisms. Great content bro 🙌

In the brief time he's been superhero, Mark has watched countless people die during three alien invasions, got beat to near death by Battle Beast and partially caused the devastation in Chicago. But hey, what should we expect from the same guy who credits A Train's death for getting him from behind with a bullet but calls Flash getting hit by Cold's gun in the back and caught by some liquid Boomerang hit him with from his boomerang inconsistent writing (if his point was about the rouges not being effective villains to stop the Flash from the context of FlashPoint Paradox film, then that clearly wasn’t indicated since he didn’t bother explaining it and all I mentioned was what he showed)!

    The reason why a lot of viewers feel the animation looks inadequate is because the recent wave of well animated action movies and shows (X-men 97, Spider-verse, Arcane) and that the shows art style and art direction tends to be inferior to the comics. This isn’t to say Invincible looks bad or that it NEEDS to look like these projects or the comic. Something you forgot to mention is Marks stress, for 17 years he was a regular human then when he got his powers the best superhero’s on the planet were all killed and his father in a coma. And during g the following year he was one of the strongest superhero’s on the planet but was being on the verge of death multiple times and then learned the truth about his father and his species and was then beaten to near death by his own father. After that he was the strongest person on earth, knows he is their best chance to save their planet, knows he can’t beat 1 Viltramite, will potentially have to face off against an army of then and is just waiting for them to come. He’s also shown he scarred of becoming his father and maybe one of the reasons he went to college is to be more human and help him even though that just makes his situation way worse and continues to get him more and more stressed the longer his hero problems and person problems continue to collide.

    Only legit criticism of this show is the animation. It’s downright lazy for a studio the size of the one they have. And they aren’t even coming up with brand new ideas etc. they have the storyboard already done in comic form. So it should technically take even less time since the story boarding was done “years” ago. And making us wait as long as they did. I’ve seen smaller teams do more in less time.

    Mark always wanted to be a superhero growing up and wanted to be like his dad but he didn’t want to become the strongest hero on earth at 18. He never expected his dad to be gone and to have to carry the weight of the world on his own shoulders that soon. He thought he’d be able to have a normal life and a girlfriend and live as a human. Preserving that humanity and that lifestyle is the reason he stands against omniman in the first place. Of course he wants to go to college with his gf and is willing to do things like argue with Cecil over it. If he didn’t he’d just be like all those marks we see in other universes. Mark never talks about going to college for a future career he just wants to do it to spend time with his friend and his gf and enjoy the last few years of being a carefree kid that he has.

I feel like that'd be a little less on the nose...

    Debbie was shocked, was shown calm after some time and she's been drinking. She asked a question, some time passed by (she could have been angry then, who knows?) She's been drinking and had time to some what wrap her head around it. She's still shocked and so she repeats what was said like someone in shock. She also explains what she's feeling to make. That's thought provoking and human....wtf is the first guy on about? Why is he acting like a scholar? Alot of his clips didn't add to or support his claims or reasons for why he doesn't like it....also "doesn't have 3 dimensional characters" mate have you watched the show? The whole show literally shows Mark struggle to use his powers. To hold back and not kill snd be like his Father they've shown this. Mark compares himself to his father because his dad is a psycho who kills and uses his powers to kill. Mark doesn't want that. He struggles after killing someone. Mark is half human. He wants a life like his father before he went nuts. Having a relationship, hobbies, friends, college amd a job he loves whilst working on his powers and being a hero who is strong and powerful to help and save people. His father did this. He's trying to find balance in his life. He struggles to do things in his personal life because he gets dragged back to superhero duty. He misses out on his life. He can also commit to his life causing him to miss a battle leaving innocents injured. That's the point of the show. I figured this out and I can be an idiot sometimes....so it is thought provoking....🤦‍♂️

    For the lizard league 'revival' point: I genuinely think the survival cheapens the scene where they die. Rex being revived was good personally because he actually had good character moments afterwards, but Rae doesn't really do anything after and Dupli-Kate (while her being alive makes sense) feels like they just backtracked the Immortal's grief which I genuinely would've liked to watch more of. Imagine if we got an arc for the Immortal where he's finally broken because the only person who could've possibly understood him is dead. The immortal could've been used as contrast against Mark. Where as the Immortal becomes someone who's given into living a "normal" life, while Mark is someone whose commited to the gauntlet of being a superhero.

If he really decided to become a hero devoid of human interaction, only caring about the greater good no matter the cost or strain it causes. The humanization criticism of Mark is the ENTIRE reason why people dislike Superman. People don’t want to see Superman be human and have the struggles that humans do, they just want a “good guy” fighting aliens and snapping necks (*ahem* Man of Steel *ahem*). They don’t want a human Superman deal with the everyday struggles of being human, when that is the ENTIRE point of Superman’s character. Because without that vulnerability, Superman is just an invulnerable God. In some versions Superman has even become immune to Kryptonite.

    So far I have watched this video. RSG’s review and his “Man-Child” video. I have listened to the original argument in full and two responses. I think both of you have valid criticisms about the show. I think his comparison to Spider-man and why he feels the emotional and character drama works better with smaller more localized characters makes sense. I am a big Spider-man fan and own a lot of the comics made by the Spider-man GOAT Todd McFarlane. Compared to Invincible, I am a more casual fan. I genuinely love season one and found season two a little less satisfying. I think the overall point of his comparison was to say, that it’s hard to relate to a character that has the ability of a GOD. However, it works in Invincible’s case because he’s facing villains around his power level. But, when Mark fights weaker villains, I think it’s fair to say, “this is drawn out and annoying,” given his power set. How the character chooses to use that power is a different matter entirely. This is decided by narrative and has zero consideration about how the reader/ viewer feels. With all of that said, I think it’s obvious RSG just isn’t a fan and wanting to call this show trash despite any amount of quality, good or bad. It’s not something that’s worth watching because to him the “good qualities” cannot out weigh the “bad.”

    I know that this is gonna be a hot take But Eve's powers genuinely have zero reason not to be utterly flawless Who cares if you need stamina and focus, just rearrange some food into being an absurdly high-calorie meal that will last you a good year or more on a single go, turn some air molecules into a five hour energy. Hell, we know she can effect entire fields of farmland, there is ZERO reason why she can't just go to an existing Nuclear Reactor, and alter its structure in order to make it a thousand times more efficient, and a thousand times safer Let me put it this way, Eve is Doctor Manhattan without the personal detachment that comes with Manhattan's relationship with time. Everything he can do to space and matter, Eve can also do. I get that the show needs to continue, I really really do. But Eve can quite literally see Atoms, she SHOULD be able to see Smart Atoms. And we know that she CAN get passed the mental blockers keeping her from altering living organisms, meaning she SHOULD be able to turn her own atomic structure into Smart Atoms. All of the drawbacks to her powers, the exhaustion, the focus, the mental blocks, everything, is all to try and keep her from instantly ending every single bit of tension in the series, and it still doesn't work in my eyes.

    I'm really glad that season 2 didn't have any overarching main villain or catastrophic event as the climax. Shows that constantly try to one-up their previous season with higher stakes and badder villains often end up feeling repetitive and flat. Having a season focused more on smaller conflicts and character arcs, as well as setting up tons of stuff for the future, is probably going to pay off in the long run.
