I love the manuals! I drive one at Estes in an old ass International! I laughed when you said if you want a 2nd chance, go to western express or CR England!! Run your company your way ! That's what you worked so hard for! Be safe Brother!

These new drivers are a whole different breed. It's ridiculous. I'm glad you sticking to high standards. Better to take longer finding the best drivers rather than throwing just anyone behind the wheel and having them run your cost up and risk lawsuits etc. Also smart owning the trucks outright. Far as people being so concerned with brand new trucks and stuff. They don't realize that a lot of times those come with endless headaches and down time when they constantly have breakdowns usually exhaust related, or from all these extra electronics and sensors etc. Them older trucks won't usually have those issues. They think "well down time isn't my problem it's the owners"... They don't stop to think down time also means they're not running so not making a paycheck either. Until it happens then they wanna complain. They also think that older equipment means its gotta be junk. Not realizing that for the right driver old trucks can be kept very nice. Hell, for over 100k less than a new truck, you can hire your own mechanic, buy an old truck, mechanically overhaul everything, fresh suspension and brakes and cooling system and steering, virgin tires, slap a new paintjob on and have someone go over every inch of that interior detailing and restoring it to brand new. Having your own mechanic saves a lot of cost. You'd have way less into that truck than a brand new one, but.... That old truck would then be in like new condition in every way. Hell you could even upgrade some factory weak spots in the process. But people don't think about any of that. So obsessed with the date of the truck and mileage on it rather than condition
I have two trucks and it's def hard finding reliable drivers.especially black ones🤦🏾♂️and the other races don't like working for blacks(my experience)
