Why I DON'T eat LOW CARB from someone who's lost 120 POUNDS on Wegovy and Mounjaro
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
I wanted to talk to you about why I don't eat low carb as a person who's lost over 120 pounds on Wegovy and Mounjaro GLP1 medications. You need to do what you can stick to and that's moderation for me!

I love your approach. I am 38 pounds down on mounjaro by mostly eating intuitively with a focus on protein. No "diet" - because that hasn't been sustainable ever before! Slow and steady losses, and I could eat this way forever. 👍🏼

Thanks so much. I got them from my local eye doctor. I know the brand is LAMB. They are over a year old at this point, so I'm not sure if they are still available... stuff changes so fast in fashion... lol.
I am so glad that you made this video!!! I so appreciate your thoughts about a low carb diet. I have lost 80lbs in a year and 3 months and various loved ones were trying to convince me that the only way that I could possibly lose anymore weight was to be on keto diet or very low carb to get to my 150 lbs weight loss. I really appreciate your videos and you have been a huge inspiration for me on this mounjaro journey. Thank you!! I was laughing as you were spanking the pancakes!!.. lol so cute😍

Hey Diana, The next time someone tries to pressure you to eat KETO, you can kindly let them know that you prefer to get your calorie deficit WITH carbs... because that's the only way you can lose fat with KETO or low carb. ALL diets are just another form of calorie restriction... low carb diets just come with the "benefit" of restricting your happiness, too... 🤣🤣🤣

I just found you yesterday and I'm so glad. I love your down-to-earthness. I have bounced up and down with my weight for years and after having a traumatic pregnancy that led to a NICU baby that led to me being home with her for 2 years, I am the heaviest I've ever been. I asked my doctor about Wegovy after hurting my knee just trying to exercise on the treadmill. Currently waiting for prior auth to begin my journey. Keep being you! Hi, I have been following you for a bit and I enjoy your thoughts about moderation and losing weight or maintaining after any "diet" plan. I have got the green light to start my journey with Wegovy from my regular Family physician and am starting my shots on Monday after Easter. I need to lose over 50 pounds to be in a healthier state for my body size and age (just turned 43 this year and BMI is a bit over 30). I am planning on starting to document on my KZread channel as much as I can so I can be accountable too and perhaps have some encouragement as well. Good Job to you.

Glad to see you looking well. I make fruit syrup very similarly to you. So good on so many things! I’ve been in maintenance for 17 months. I eat now the way I ate losing weight. Generally 2 meals a day plus a fruit as a snack and a sweet with my afternoon cup of tea. No restrictions on carbs. No counting macros. I do tend to have “cleaner” meals but if a stouffers french bread pizza sounds good, then I’ll have that for dinner on occasion. Vacation protocol includes drinks and desserts but only 1 per meal. I don’t feel deprived and I can enjoy myself while traveling. I don’t plan as carefully as you do, but I have a general idea of what the week will look like.

The most important thing is to do what works for you. I know most people aren't as OCD as I am, and it would stress them out to try to be, but I know that if I don't plan like that, I will just end up eating out. My laziness just takes over. 😒 I'm so happy for you and your success!! ❤️🥰

Love this. I’ve done multiple low carbs diets and once got to maintenance I gained all my weight back gradually. I feel carbs are a must. I’ve been on Wegovy for 4 weeks and have not lost any weight. Protein intake is about 100 to 120 a day.

If you're on the 0.25mg dose it is just a loading dose. Most don't start seeing the effects until 0.5mg and higher. Keep up the good work. I also encourage you to use more than the scale as a measurement. (Taking physical measurements really helps)

oh I needed this soooo bad! I've been in Wegovy since 2022 but I gained 30 pounds last winter and I'm trying to lose. I'm half way there at 15 pounds down but I'm convinced that I can only do it with Keto and Lord knows I want a burrito....my goal is 67 more pounds by the end of the year and I really hope I can allow myself to include more carbs!

Girl, yes! Free yourself from Keto prison!!! I just can't get behind a way of living that says I can eat an entire stick of butter, but I can't have a potato... no... no, thank you. The only thing necessary to lose weight is to be in a caloric deficit... it's science. True that it is not always EASY to be in a deficit... especially if you have PCOS or other health issues... but ultimately, it's all that's required. I hope you're able to find something more sustainable that will work for you long term. ❤️🥰
It is not that simple for everyone! I have been on Keto for many months. I track calories and micro-nutrients. My Daily Nutrition Goals are: Calories 1200; Carbohydrates 19 g at 5%; Fat 125 g at 75 %; Protein 75 g 20 %. I am not in keto-sis currently (using the keto sticks I have) and I am not losing weight. I am never hungry so I do not overeat. I exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day 7 days a week. I do intermittent fasting for at least 14 hour periods within every 24 hour period. My weight loss is zero pounds! I did Stillman in the 1960s and Robert Atkins in the 1970s. I have lost 100s of pounds in my life I am sure and the weight always comes back. I weighed 100 pounds when I was six years old. I recently did weight waters for 5 years with minimal success being faithful to the plan and following it.
@mindypweightloss
Ай бұрын
I'm guessing that the weight always comes back because eventually, you are unable to maintain whatever diet you chose to lose weight on. That was the point of this video... to say that low carb isn't necessarily the answer. If you've been tracking macros and eating 1200 calories a day for months and haven't lost a single inch or pound, there's definitely something going on with your health. If you haven't already spoken with a doctor, it's definitely time. I hope you are able to get some answers.
On Mounjaro and following a Mediterranean Diet. This is not a temporary diet just to lose weight only to gain it back when you go back to old eating habits. If I want a cookie or piece of chocolate I will eat it but I'm happy with how I feel with my healthy eating habits. I crave fruits now as opposed to cookies and cupcakes and crap. To each his own though. Everyone has a different journey on a different path. But at the end of the day I definitely don't want to go back down the path to obesity. I refuse to take these medications for granted.
@mindypweightloss

That's amazing! I'm so glad you've found what works for you! The Mediterranean diet is quite high in carbs and is very balanced!! I'm just happy you aren't restricting yourself! ❤️❤️

Hey Ginny, Other than the Novo coupon which will not save you much the next cheapest option would be a Semaglutide compound or getting Ozempic from a Canadian or Mexican pharmacy.

It still spikes your bloodsugar even with the GLPs? The feedback I hear from most T2D peeps is that the meds allow them to eat "normally" without the spikes. I'm so sorry that isn't the case for you! 😩
I WISH I could be a moderator with food. Unfortunately, I have to abstain completely from my trigger foods with sugar/high carbs. I just cannot stop if food I eat has those things in them. The only thing that has stopped my binging and losing the same 50 to 100 lbs over and over has been treated sugar like a drug and not having any. I eat low carb with my Ozempic and have had great success and hope that this is the last time I will lose this darn weight. I have found peace in knowing that my "drug of choice(sugar)" will no longer be a part of my life. I also have a cancer history and my research leads me to believe not eating sugar can only help me not relapse. I do love your videos and enjoy your honesty.
@mindypweightloss
Ай бұрын
Hey Susan, I totally understand. I was that way at first... but once I embraced the moderation mindset and knew I could have the foods any time I wanted, they kind of lost their grip on me. I know my story isn't everyone's, and each person's struggle is different. I'm getting ready to start seeing a therapist because I know I need to get to the root of these issues if I'm ever truly going to have long-term success. I've never had a drink of alcohol or even tried drugs... food has always been my drug of choice... time to get treatment for my addiction. ❤️

"This stuff" didn't lose the weight for me... that's not how it works. It does make sticking to a deficit a little easier by making me feel full for longer and helps reduce food noise (much less now than it used to). If low carb works for you, that's great... But it's not a requirement for weight loss. It's far more important to do something that's sustainable. If you can eat low carb and no sugar for the rest of your life, then more power to you... but (and I mean absolutely no offense and am in no way attempting to belittle your weight loss) losing 10lbs is nothing like losing 200... it's already taken me over 2 years to get halfway there and will likely take me several more to even be at the point where I have 10 lbs to lose. I will never be a size 4. (I have too large of a bone structure for that) I guess my point is that crediting my weight loss to an injection (and if that's not what you were doing, I apologize for the misunderstanding) is hurtful and misinformed. Your experience doesn't invalidate mine... just as mine doesn't invalidate yours (which is why I said you need to do what works for you). I wish you the best of luck with your low-carb lifestyle.
