You feel the difference drastically between the 1.5 & 2.0. While you value your gas and everything. The 2.0 is very efficient and had power to back it up. I bought the touring model for those reasons, but the main reason to buy the 2.0. RESALE VALUE the 2.0 will ratain a higher value than the 1.5 in the long run.

I purchased the 1.5L Sport for the same reasons. I'm also in MD and have customers all over the state so I put on a lot of miles per year. What I gain in fuel economy with the 1.5L vs. the 2.0 is huge. There's a point where you have to look at a car as a tool instead of a toy. That said, I have no complaints. It's been a great car for me so far and I have no doubt it will continue to be.

Got the 1.5T last month with 7 miles on the clock and now at over 2k miles. For a person that drives 37 miles one way to work, the base 1.5T just made more sense. Plus, the 1.5T Sport is a great value overall and performs phenomenally in all conditions so far. I had a 2013 Sport and Honda took an already excellent formula and made it better. The 2 liter is nice to have, however isn't necessary to get around even in heavy interstate driving.

@@theanimeotaku2794 yeah I use premium gas, oil etcetera. Most new cars need this now. That's probably why people have issues with these cars putting in 87 gas or cheap oil changes with low grade oil. It's kinda just self explanatory if you buy a new car dont you wanna put the best products in it. And by the way 3 to 4k for oil change is normal I've dont that for all of my cars even my old accord and prelude always every 3 to 4k this 10k on an oil change is absurd. Most people drive chaotic and heavy footed and now most cars are turbo which means you need to change it more frequently. Also have to keep in mind driving a turbo car you shouldn't jump in start it and go. Let the Rpms drop a little let it get a little warm especially in cold climates. Non of this is new its things that Honda advises and in actcually how you should always treat your car. Dont floor it drive aggressively and then just shut the car off that's not good for the turbo. I suggest if you buy a car you should probably learn how the car is intended to be treated the average person just thinks start go stop lol

It has the Honda smart sense tech, car almost steers it self, has lane assist, brake assist, lane centering etc advanced Airbags which Came standard, turn it on and its super quiet makes no noise.. I have an altima 2.5s and this 1.5t is quicker more reliable and more efficient even do it has a smaller engine .. I saw the 2.0t and test drove it, yes its fasters, but over all if a fast sedan is what I was looking for well I wouldn't be buying a Honda Accord.. Bought the car Feb has 6k miles just did first oil change and let me say for those interested in a economic family car: its great, safe and will put your mind at ease when your most valuable treasures drive away.

I just got a Sport 1.5t 6MT as a daily driver (I also have an SUV which is sitting in the garage now, it’ll be for longer drives to visit family, as a backup or guest car, and if I need to haul something). My SUV gets 18 MPG, I wanted something which got at least 30 and was fun to drive. I’m seeing 32 so far (barely broken in) so I’m thrilled with it. The Civic’s manual had a little shorter clutch and throw so it was more fun, but it was just too small for me. Fortunately this car had been sitting on the lot for months so I was able to get a better price on it than my spouse got on a Civic EX six months ago (when I first saw this car). I didn’t like the styling in pictures and I don’t usually care for black interiors, but I fell in love with this car when I saw it in person. I hope to keep it for a long time (especially because I think the manual transmission will be disappearing in the next 1-2 generations of cars).

Ive heard aftermarket 6 speaker systems comprised of no name flea market brands sound better. Honda is a great vehicle but their sound system sucks no matter if you get the top of the line trim. Hybrids suck on the freeway/highway. People keep forgetting this. If he does a lot of driving on highway/freeway roads, the only way he gets the advertised 47 mpg highway is if he goes 65MPH and below and hope the road is completely flat or going downhill. Who drives 65mph and below for long distances????? and combine that with elevation changes, it actually gets worse gas mileage on the highway compared to standard 1.5T gas engine. EVERYONE does not realize this. city driving sure hybrid wins, but again if majority of driving is highway/freeway long drives, the hybrid really isnt best bet.

I got the 2.0 back in March of this year of course. I traded the 2016 Ex-T. That was the plan until the new accord came out. With the 1.5 I felt the engine was a little small and under powered for the car size plus it has the CVT. I didn’t want another CVT to drive as a daily driver it wasn’t fun but ok. The 2.0 sport has the features that the civic Ex T had and more so getting an 1.5 sport I would of been bored with it. I also liked the fact 10spd is not new of course but Honda and the accord is the only front wheel drive sedan out there that has the 10 spd others are rear wheel drive so that got my attention as well. I did get the 2.0 sport platinum white for $28,000 the Camry 2018 I was going to consider with the v6 was $37,000. That’s a big price difference for my budget.

The goal was to find a reliable low cost to maintain car that gives me a nice quality ride. Cost to Benefit ratio. Plus I picked up my 1.5T sport for 22,500 before tax. It’s something I wanted and NOT needed. I can live without the 2.0 extra goodies. The goal is to pay it off ASAP. I choose to not to buy the 2.0 because that 4-5k can be use for my future goals. That 4-5k invested will have a greater appreciation than depreciation of the car.

Honda dealerships in new Jersey dont negotiate much if any at all. And no free oil changes, car washes, tire rotations, nothing comes free with the sale. They better at least give me 2 keys when I go pick it up. This is my 1st brand new car ever, and just got my dl back after a very long suspension. I picked the 1.5t mainey for cost. I drove both before deciding on the 2.0. The 1.5 with CVT is not in the same league as the 2.0 with 10 speed. My 2.0 gets 37 mpg on the interstate running 75 mph. It’s well worth the $4500 difference in price.

I know what you mean when you talk about the emotional aspect behind deciding what car you want to hold long term. I think it's one of the most important aspects when it comes to a big purchase in which every option in the category can check off all the needed or utilitarian purchases.

Personally went for the 2.0 for two reasons. Was coming out of 2015 tlx v6 and felt the power drop off would be to big. Second, was able to get manual. Pros: tech is very good, genuinely sporty, looks great, hugh inside - - cons: road noise, little but on stiff side. Overall like but do miss the v6 and some of the premium car goodies

Spot on pros and cons. And I work at a Honda dealership. I wouldn't pay over 23k for the 1.5t and 26-27 for the 2.0t sport. As for the touring I wouldn't pay over 32k. Just my honest opinion.

I came from the 7th Gen v6 Accord to the 9th gen Sport trim (2.4L NA CVT). It wasn't as huge of a drop off as one would think. But I am looking for a 10th gen 2.0t currently, so yes I miss the pickup of the v6. But the MPG on the 9th gen is pretty dang good.

A man with common sense. That is why I got the 2.0 and then my work car crapped out. I now have a 2018 Hyundai Elantra for work. I do approximately 30000 mile per year for work. I did not want to put the mikes on my 2.0. I love the 2.0 for the family and for my sons future car when he starts driving. The Touring is so comfortable with the ventilated seats.

Great video. I have a Civic EX-L which gets about 35mpg but its too light for me on long trips so I end of taking my other vehicle. I want to trade in the civic for something heavier that doesn't get pushed around on the highway. What do you think about the Accord hybrids vs the 1.5.

I bought the 1.5 manual because I got almost 4 grand off . 22.300.I could not get but 500 off the 2.0 Manuel. The 2.0 was over 30 grand . This let me keep my Miata . I would of had to sell the Miata to get the 2.0 . Then paid the 2018 accord off in 13 months and bought a new rf Miata gt with gtx package . The 1,5 is a great daily with 37 mpg . I drove a 2.0 manual accord and it was quite a bit nicer than the 1.5 . Thinking about putting a Hondata tune on the 1.5 now . Anyone done this ?

  • @ayyazmahmood2197

Bro, no offense, but you need to learn your words. You can't say "This engine is pretty *irresistible* compared to the 2.0" Your sentence is backwards, man!😂😂 And btw, I have a 2.0t Sport 10spd, same Crystal Black Peal, and it is phenomenal. Immense horsepower, upgraded convenience features, and of course, better reliability with no CVT. It's totally worth that extra $5,000. I understand that you are looking at MPG, but bro, understand that because you're putting so many miles on your car, that CVT is bound to have a lot more problem than a regular automatic or manual. You will easily be spending $5,000 to fix that when the time comes. Beware 😂😂

I chose the 1.5t because all i need is a reliable daily. Plus it's cheaper. And an Accord isn't really a "dream car". I might trade in for a 2.0 down the road or something but right now i just don't care. I sold a 3.7L v6 Infiniti Q50 and opted for a 1.5t Accord instead. Don't regret it.
