I currently have an '04 V6 Accord and absolutely love it to death. Seeing how both these cars as they stand now, I'm really glad both cars are good for their own reasons. I'm a diehard Accord fan all the way, but I'm really gonna miss those "creamy" naturally aspirated V6s that could've been had in the Accords. I still might look to the newest Accord as I love a balance of comfort and practicality, but also the occasional spirited driving, hooning about that this car has even with its slightly more stiff ride which adds to it. That Camry really has its merit keeping the V6 alive, but in the end I'll probably end up getting a used 2017 Accord V6 as a future daily 🤷‍♂️

I always get confused with accord vs camry reviews. A lot of reviews say the accord is quieter and some say the camry is, but they all equally praise the smoothness of the v6. I test drove both, and in my experience the accord is quieter until it comes to tire noise. For some reason Honda can't get that right. However I drove the accord sport, not the touring. The touring comes with sound dampening inside the wheels. Accord for my choice. It just feels more confident and stable, especially when it comes to steering. And not to mention the camry feels a little too "plasticky" interior wise.

I am a 2.0t Accord Touring owner and this is a very fair assessment/comparison. The Accord can be a lot of fun but the ride is sometimes rough and that knee complaint is completely valid. The sound system is weak but I fixed that will a small 8" JL sub tucked away in the corner of the trunk. The only thing I don't agree with is the seat comfort statement. They get pretty uncomfortable on long hauls. Real world fuel cons.. I have driven 15k miles and averaged 27mpg with highway and city (50%/50%). I have gotten about 36-37mpg highway on a 5 hr drive.

They are both exceptional and on par to each other. This is purely a decision made from brand loyalty. That being said. I'll take the Accord. Toyota is confused in its styling anymore. It can't decide on a NASCAR stock car look or this blend into it's Lexus line-up. It is a luxurious sedan and it doesn't look the part. Anytime I see the Accord on the road I think sophisticated refined sharp. I see the Camry and I think sporty four door car that can't decide if it wants to hang with the suits or the kids.

The Accord was a dream to drive and did it's job perfectly of being a family cruiser while also having a sporty, peppy feel to it when you craved some more adrenaline. Fast forward to now and I can honestly say, I have zero regrets buying my Accord. The more I drive it the more I like it. The only thing I gave up from going V6 to 2.0T is the sound of the engine. A 4 cylinder just isn't going to sound better than a good V6. However, my Accord is quicker than my TLX was and even quicker than the V6 Camry. The Accord is super fun to drive and feels very sporty. Seriously considered both of these exact models last year (along with the Mazda6 and a couple of other "family sedans") when I was looking to replace my MK6 APR tuned GTI with a new car. My teenage daughter is about to begin driving and I wanted a vehicle with all the latest safety/convenience features if she was going to share it. As most reviewers have found, I thought the two vehicles (along with the Mazda6) were very close. I was impressed by how much the Camry XSE had improved over its predecessor; it no longer deserved to be dismissed as an "appliance." In the end, though, on my "scorecard" the Accord came out ahead. Some thoughts... () Styling. This is by far the most subjective category and for me the Mazda6 was best looking. But the Honda ranked ahead of the Camry. Outside and inside the Camry just seemed to try too hard. I thought it looked like it a descendant from a spaceship in a 1930's Flash Gordon serial. Have to give the Camry points for the traditional shift lever but all in all, I thought the Honda's more traditional cabin layout was more appealing and in terms of the vehicles' profile, the Honda bested the Camry significantly. () Performance. Again, very close and both the Accord and Camry ranked ahead of the Mazda6. But perhaps because I'm accustomed to the "punch" of a turbo 4 in my GTI, I found the Honda's Civic Type R derived engine to be more appealing. There are applications where a naturally aspirated engine is definitely a superior choice (e.g. two ton crossovers) but in this case I was more impressed by the Honda than the Toyota or the Mazda6. () Features. When I was shopping the Camry didn't support either Apple Carplay or Android Auto. And a fully featured, integrated nav system was (and still is) available only via a $2000 package upgrade. The Honda provided all those features as standard. Now the Camry has Apple Carplay but no Android Auto. Not acceptable. In place of Android Auto Toyota provides Alexa integration. Wonderful! I've always wanted to ask my car to tell me the exact date of the Treaty of Versailles. Otherwise, while the front row of seats were more or less comparable, the back seats in the Honda were both roomier and had better materials than the Camry. That's not unusual. Toyota tends to cut costs in their rear seat accommodations to meet a price point. All in all, the Honda won the "features" competition hands down. () Overall. In the end I didn't purchase any of the "family sedans" I considered. Instead, I replaced my 2013 GTI with the 2018 Autobahn edition with an "automated manual" DSG. The out-the-door price was about $5000 less than either the Accord or the Camry but the deciding factor was just how engaging (and familiar) the GTI felt to drive. My daughter lobbied to the end for a Mustang 2.3L Ecoboost but she has come to love the GTI almost as much as I do. :)

@@jamesengelsman9369 It certainly is. I was surprised (and gratified) to see that VW didn't neuter the GTI's engine and drive train in the new GLI. I'd stick with my GTI for its versatility and my big dog agrees. (I just checked with him.) But the GLI is a handsome and highly appealing vehicle.

Before judging a car based on reviews i believe people should drive the vehicle and get their own hands on experience with the car. I drove both turbos of the new accord and they both were very responsive, great steering, not loud very quiet and very exciting to drive. Get your own opinion, reviews do help but you may have a different experience.

we tried a civic with the 4 cil. and yeah it was quick i guess almost like the accord would be but as soon as i found out it had a turbo i thought, nope not interested. any car with turbos its gonna make a reliable car not reliable.i prefer a naturally aspirated engine over a turbo one.

Fuzooli Ameenudeen Its time honda fangirls need to admit the new camry is better than the accord in every way. Camry is better in style, smoothness, comfortability, power. 4cyl engine hondas suck! It breaks! I dont want to hear about honda has better handling bs. U think a sedan is a sports car? Its a daily commute vehicle!

I personally prefer the Camry over the Accord and I will explain. The Camry I believe has both direct and port injection while the accord only has direct and this means the camry is less likely to have carbon build up versus the accord. I also prefer having a more refined v6 and the sound on the camry versus the turbo four cylinder of the accord. The camry is avaliable with a panoranic sunriof, not available on the accord. And the styling, while subjective, I think I prefer the Camry over the accord. Both are great cars overall, though.

If the motor is designed properly, it doesn't need both port and direct, VAG's CZDA go easy without a valve clean for 280k, I say 280,000km because that's as high I have seen them as they are a relatively new engine, very reliable though.

I drove the Accord and it’s a brilliant car. It felt like my 435i in comfort mode and that’s saying something. It truly is hitting above it’s weight class. The Camry is just too soft and unengaging. That would bore me to tears. The Accord had some really good spirit to its driving dynAmic and that’s why I love to drive cars.
