Why Do These LIONS Need a MANICURE? | The Lion Whisperer

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This week, Kevin noticed Ginny the Lion limping due to a claw growing into her paw pad. He called Dr. Caldwell to perform a ‘manicure’ on Ginny and Meg who has also been having claw troubles.

    This week we see how age can affect the Lions with minor issues that can become more serious issues. Ginny & Meg had ingrown claws and our trusted friend Dr Caldwell the Vet was called to help. Hope you enjoy a different type of video but a necessary update for the well being of Ginny and Meg who were back up and about and happy in no time. Thank you for the support, welcome to all new viewers and once again to all regular viewers ! Have fun watching ! Ciao

    the thing is Kevin you have a remarkable relationship with each lion or big cat, hyena on the sanctuary and therefore they trust you in ways they wouldn't trust any other human. That is for sure! And as amazing as it is I really hope and pray that people out there do not try and repeat what you do because if you could have it your way none of the animals on the sanctuary would be there they would all be free to roam this earth as we do. Without restriction and fences. The goal is all wild animals to be FREE, until that day comes Kevin you are the link between us and them and I greatly adore you for all your kindness, loyalty, dedication, love and humility you have for the life you live and work you do, God BLESS you, yours and all your furry family in SA..... from a far away friend in the USA, CT to be exact!!! ✌💜🙃🙏

    Knowing just how quickly her whole demeanor can change from placid & almost child like to "I will rip your throat out" in a nanosecond proves you HAVE to be on your toes at ALL times. Be complacent at your peril, literally. She is STILL a wild animal at the end of the day & this demonstrates so perfectly Kevin's knowledge, attention & compassion. Thank you for sharing.

    When they need an intervention, their caregiver is with them. Animals never say thanks afterwards if they feel betrayed. but it keeps them calm a bit longer when they trust someone, instead of slamming them with products. That is the risk everyone takes. Knowing all Kevin has done, I'd say his lions really trust him, and any caregiver assigned to the youngest will earn that trust too. They risk their life if they fail;

    MEGGY..... what a beautiful girl, I get tears as I'm typing this because of her sweet but fierce nature. Meg really is a special girl, I do wish Amy was here with her but in spirit Amy is all around those fields running free. She's is in such great health for a 20 year old lioness, can't believe that many years have gone past.

    Who ever thought a lioness needed a manicure😂. What an interesting video. Dr Caldwell is amazing. He explained so clearly how and why this procedure is neccessary. I also agree it would be lovely to meet the staff who assist and are as passionate about the lions. Perhaps a member only video?😊. Thank you fo r my weekly lesson. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

    Consider: The vertical splits that sort of blunt cutting creates up the nail is concerning. It might be remedied by filing the freshly cut end, giving the cut nail edge(s) a symmetry or evenness that avoids catching and the risk of deeper vertical splitting as the nail regrows…

    He'll still rescue animals, just not to keep permanently. Kevin has said that once all of his animals pass away, he will transform the sanctuary into a rehabilitation and release facility. In the future he will be doing what he did for the rescued cheetah cubs. Credit video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e42Go8xsn8zZm7w.html
