Mate, your videos are second to none. And watching you meet those animals on the level you do- I know it must be ultra tiring to love them that deeply, but that's what it takes to know an animal like that. Today we buried our boy Leo, born December 01, he was with us our whole marriage. The bond was exquisite. On my last day with him we layed together in the sun/ yesterday, and he leaned up to me and rubbed noses with me both directions 4 times. So 8 kisses.we both held his hand as he left us at 530 am today. Old age took him. He did not suffer. He was a blue Burmese, but was very much like a big cat in a few ways. I feel like assigning the term, "naughty," to Gabby is unfair. Gabby is not a person and her behavior may be totally acceptable within a pride. Every lion is different and should be accepted as such.

I feel like they all see Kevin as their own packs' leader, so he has the "permission" to smell like hyenas, leopards, human babies or tuna fish, and smell like having been eating any of them for what they are concerned. ;P He's the provider, the boss, he's not questionable, and I'm pretty certain they love him very much, too, for being the provider and because they can easily pick up on how much Kevin loves them too.

You are on the right track but not fully there. He isn't the leader. This is proven because bobcat is the leader, hence testosterone. When he plays with them, he falls on his back every time. It's something else. I posted a theory, me know your thoughts.

Well I think that animals don't have any kind of an insecurity emotions unlike homo sapiens who do get insecure of their relationship/bond when they see their favourite person being with their enemies.

Bob Cat has so much patience with Gabby. Gabby does love tires. Maybe it's her way to get more time with Kevin on their walks.

To be greeted with a head bump by Bobcat = the stuff dreams are made of. Simply MAGNIFICENT. ♥️🔥👑

They are big. Not as big as a tiger but big. Kevin’s lion, Gandalf weighs 550 pounds! Most males are at least 400 pounds. Vayetse is also a very big boy.

@Baldhina Asnake Leopard-size might be stretching it a bit, but certainly some subspecies are smaller than most lions, or maybe even around the size of a big jaguar... the BEAUTIFUL (& rare) Sumatran tiger & the (sadly extinct) Javan & Balinese tigers are about that size!

To see him come walking up through the tall grass is so beautiful. That look of such confidence saying I am the king move everybody

Almost as if they know you're clearly not of their species but accept you because of your positive interactions and bond but don't have the same expectations of you that they would of one of their own. Can't say enough about how much I appreciate your love and efforts for these animals. Whatever we think about the motivations for their behavior, never ceases to amaze me the interactions they are capable of having with us when treated with respect and wisdom.

Bob Cat is the most gorgeous lion I have ever seen. I understand the reasons why, but what a shame the circumstances of his life are such that he didn’t get to pass on his lineage. Considering where they lived previously, it was a lion farm...so chances are..Bobcat would of most likely would of been sold and hunted and killed by trophy hunters. As Handsome and Majestic as Bobcat is...I AM SO GREATFUL Kevin took Bobcat, Bandit and Gabby when he left that place. We would have never got to meet them and relish in envy just to be able to approach these animals let alone be accepted NY them. Kevin has paid his dues, Kevin earned that right.

Watching the head bumping between you and the lions had become natural for me to accept. But then I was watching a vid of lions in the wild, and they did the exact same thing with each other. THAT made me see that truly you are accepted by the cats in your care. As for how the various "enemies" can accept you being with the "other side", maybe it's like the sports announcer being on good terms with both teams.

Kevins lions are so intelligent and trust him so much . They let him do whatever he feels with them and don’t get angry like animals. They do whatever he asks

It's really perplexing that they don't mind smelling each other from you and seeing you being friends with the "enemies". They are just amazing, it shows how intelligent and complex creatures they are 💕

That really is astounding. Considering how hyenas and lions are natural-born enemies, even in the enclosures. Yet they don't tear Kevin apart when they smell the other species on him. The lions obviously know, even though he smells like a hyena, he isn't one of them. And vice-versa. It's astounding.

If they got in a fight in the wild and their scents rubbed off on each other, they wouldn't just get rejected by their respective groups would they? I bet they understand that Kevin is protecting each group from each other.

I absolutely love watching the Lion Whisperer episodes. Bobcat rubs on his favorite human like he is just another Lion..Gabby is his Sister which is why she rushes him and he just accepts her.

Bobcat is patient with Gabby because they're siblings, that's love. They accept Kevin, with the variety of scents on you, because you're a part of each of their prides and groups, that is unconditional love and caring. I wouldn't say Bobcat is getting old, maybe it was really hot outside. 😍🦁💓💓💓💓❣

Has Gabby or Bobcat had any luck hunting while out walking? Bobcat is one fine specimen of a male lion!! All of your lions are in excellent condition for their age. Keep what you are doing!!

Kevin, you could have taught Gabby how to repair the punctured tires and put her to work in the Vehicles Unit 😂😂😂

They understand Kev as family. Even if dogs and cats don’t like each other, Kev is neutral. He just smells funny sometimes🤣

You don't get a sense of how big hyenas are when you see them in documentaries, but seeing them as the truck passed by their pen, man they look huge! As for the size of the cats, just WoW 😻

It’s incredible how animals have been engineered to disappear into the landscape. It’s even more incredible when you look at an animal like a leopard, cheetah, tiger, etc... you’d assume they’d stick out like a sore thumb, but it’s just the opposite.

I love that Gabby is such a trouble marker. She has such a unique spirit. Bobcat trying to be the cool, magnificent male lion then he has a crazy sister. It is too funny.

I think you're like their free love & peace hippie pal, they don't hold you're weirdness for hangin' with hyenas against ya, and vice versa😉

Such a great inquiry! Most of me wants to think they know you are “human” and not a threat. Like the fair, meat brining, walks, pilchards brining awesome uncle person! 🤷🏼‍♀️💞🦁

I was just about to mention Bobcats black. At first, it looked like he had a black marshmallow on his tail, lol. And she just seems to wait until you aren't expecting her! Gabby also looked a bit disgruntled that she didn't get to kill a tire, lol. My cats used to hiss at me if I smelled of another cat. My dog does pout, not that I cheated with another dog, that excites him, but if I go shopping without him, oh man, he'll come, smell me and pointedly turn his back and sit. Then he peeks to see if I noticed him! They are beautiful, Kevin, and every bit as 'sentient' as we are. I so love what you're doing. 👍😘🥰✌😷🎃

I'm always fascinated by Kevin's interaction with his animals. It seems so relaxed and natural and the animals appear to accept him in a unique sort of way. It's easy to be impressed by anyone who can handle big cats in person but it's exceedingly rare that the person handling them is so understanding and kind-hearted like Kevin. Often times if you ever see videos of people handling big cats/bears/other large predatory animals, they've been declawed or treated inhumanely, OR the caretaker does not respect the animal enough to know the body language and is rolling the dice on his life. Kevin is a real treasure.

Wow, can't believe Gabby behaved herself so well. She didn't even jump on you once. Not a single..... NO Gabby! Beautiful animals and the bonds you have with the different types. They all most just know you are that special person in their lives and part of their family but also think you are just a little out there because you will hang with those other types. Both Bobcat and Gabby were more mild in attitude today, no roaring from Bobcat showing who is the boss to the other lions besides hyenas besides Gabby being so tame. Cat remember really when it comes to those two tho, but he has told and explained it in one or some of his older videos some year back, you can find it out in channel's video gallery. You might need to go pretty far down in the video gallery tho.

I never get tired of watching the lions walking, I did however notice something and I hope Kevin reads this because it’s important I noticed while watching Gaby on this walk that she seemed flat she looked to be lethargic and her breathing was short and rapid, i realise that I only saw a few minutes of what may have been a few hours of walking and If I am seeing the tail end of a really energetic walk then of course Gaby would be tired, I just can’t shake my gut feeling that Gaby isn’t 100% I hope Kevin sees this comment and maybe they could take some blood from Gaby just to be sure she is a happy healthy cat🩺💉🔬

In all my 47 years I have never seen a male lion of bobcats age that looked as fit as he does and how dark his mane and legs are true signs of a very good life. You should be very proud of how u have raised an d treated your animals Kevin. Ty for all your hard work trying to spread the word and knowledge about the plight of predators and their habitats. I think your work will always be remembered and appreciated

This is just what i needed after a busy week! It is curious, but my indoor cat always notices when I've been around another cat and her response is always to give me a 'look' before rubbing herself all over me - I guess she's getting rid of their scent with her own. I always find it funny. They're smart enough to know you're still theirs, I think 💕

It’s because they register you being not hostile/aggressive towards them, this overrides any other smell or being with others reactions. They live in the moment! ;) You welcoming them is all that matters to how they refer to you on a day to day basis: Second of all: Lions & Hyenas don’t think as freakin complex as humans! 🤣 That’s a blessing

If I'm a wild lion, I'd want to live at Kevin's resort for life. It is the greatest thing to see these guys so content. God bless you Kevin for dedicating your life to the most beautiful creature that God ever created!

Bobcat loves his poo to roll in. Gabby was quite calm and not acting like a rebellious adolescent which is different and Kevin not yelling GABBY NO was strange but I enjoyed todays video thanks for sharing ! 🙂❤🦁
