Hey Lion Pride ! some videos are not so fun. This video is great example of the care and attention of the team and from Dr Caldwell. This was an unexpected and a nasty injury for Neige to endure. A lion drama and Neige is such a character. Thanks for the support through 2023, so much has happened at The Sanctuary.

Initially, did Neige hold a bit of a grudge to you or bit of anger to u for being involved with being shot with a tranquilizer and being involved with her tail be chopped off?

Cat's ability to ignore pain is always impressive. She didn't even seemed that bothered but I'm sure it was very painful.

One time saw a lioness with broken tail in KNP area on KZread , she was also nursing little cubs , really sad, because KNP has no intervene policy

I don't think they know how she did it. I think they just went to do their daily checks and saw it dangling.

Poor sweet Neige. I got teary eyed when I first saw her. That was a nasty injury probably caused by scrapping with one of her pride mates. So thankful for your team that checks on the animals daily. That’s how you found Charlie had been poisoned. Thank you Kevin and Dr. Caldwell for taking such wonderful care of these magnificent animals. Praying God heals her quickly and with no complications. Love and respect from Tennessee USA.

I was impressed how Charlie was quietly observing Neige was being wrapped up for transport and then the lions looking on as Kev explained the after care. ☮️❤️🦁🌍

Poor Neige😔🐾That must have hurt a lot! Do you have any idea how that happened? Luckily, you could save much of the tail. We hope her recovery went well and she’s doing fine again🙏🏻 One of our mini panthers had a bad tail injury 3 years ago as someone (we live next to a park) must have pulled his tail and then broken it. I then learned what big an impact a tail injury can have on the whole digestive system of a cat. We truly hope that Neige did not end up with any serious consequences apart from missing the last part of her tail. Sending best wishes to Neige and everyone else🙏🏻❤️🐾

My heart sank when the Doc said might have to amputate just down from the base, but so glad he didn't have to. Hopefully she is doing good and will continue to live a full fun filled life. Such a good girl.

What a nasty injury! Glad darling Neige will be ok. Cats are so resilient. I had a kitty years ago who's tail got injured & infected. She ended up being a "bob" cat as her tail needed to be amputated. She never seemed to notice it was gone. Am sorry I won't get to see the footage of her after the fact as I'm unable to join the membership but at least we know she is ok. Thanks for all you do for the well being of the animals in your care Kevin.

Oh goodness! I heard here for years about how lions hide their pain to not be weak. What a great but sad example of that. 😢

Oh! She can have a date with one of my cats! He was feral but his tail was torned on the last third of it, so we "adopted" him and the vet also had to take part of the tail off. He's just as happy as a dog with 2 tails.

Wow poor Neige. Just walking around with it hanging like that, crazy how she didnt appear to let it bother her. Course most wild animals will tey to hide injuries, they dont want to show any weaknesses. Glad you were able to save as much of her tail as possible. Kudos to the whole team for ensuring as positive an outcome as possible for her.

I know lions dont show pain but you would not know anything was wrong if you couldnt see it. Im sure it was so painful. Thankyou to the keepers who look after them too for finding this. Also thankyou to the vets who did the surgery too
