As a 87' Starion owner, I laughed so hard at the first 30 seconds because of how true it is. Had the car 6 months and I already had to pull the engine because of rod knock. Still love the car though. Anyone who wants one of these, be ready to deal with absolute ass reliability. They're awesome looking cars and they're very fun when driving right, but they're a bitch to live with

If the driveway was anything like mine, you're basically climbing a curb. A lot of cookie-cutter driveways are just pulling bumpers coming in and out. Need a truck to even clear it without going in fully sideways. The only trailer they'd get in that driveway is a tractor-trailer or dolly, but the skyline on the dolly would definitely not clear the entrance, no matter how sideways you got.

This story didn’t really add up? You went to uhaul and they weren’t gonna give you the trailer because somehow they knew you had a skyline? It sounds like you told them it was a skyline. I’ve rented 100s of trailers from uhaul. They’ve never once checked what vehicle I put on their trailer. Ed, who is this kid? And why.

Every trailer i’ve rented from uhaul they’ve asked me what car it was. I had issues with that actually, the computer wouldn’t let me tow a subaru 2.5rs because the weight was somehow heavier than the f150 i was towing.

@@Gameisis likely it was the trailer and car combined that were heavier than the tow vehicle. Which is how they're rated, I believe. They don't give tow ratings of whatever is on the trailer. It's the entirety of what you're towing, trailer and load.

My first Skyline I ever saw was an illegal R33 GT-R when I was in California last year. So far I’ve seen 6, with 4 of them being illegal (3 R33s and an R34)

Unless you’re loading the car onto the UHaul trailer AT THE UHAUL location, which NO ONE DOES, they’re never going to know what you have. Plot hole the size of the Grand Canyon there. Also, the law is that any business selling or renting trailers has to make sure you can safely tow whatever it is you claim to be doing, as well as have the proper equipment. That means if you show up to pick up a car trailer with a Honda CRV, with the wrong size and weight hitch, they’re gonna tell you to get lost. If they don’t, they’re liable if you get into an accident. However, if you tell them you’re hauling a Miata, but in reality it’s a Chevy 2500 Duramax; you’re the one who’s liable

The u haul thing depends on the dealer. My friend and i hauled a 67 impala 800 miles back from Nebraska behind a 2004 toyota sienna. We were a full ton over the mini vans capacity. We told the u haul lady we were towing the trailer to our truck that we were actually gonna use but she knew what was up.

You bought it under the pretense that it had a timing chain rattle? The SR20DET has a timing belt, not a chain. The stock USDM has the KA24, which had the timing chain.

In the late 90s ( the rice years) i remember seeing a red honda civic that was sideswiped on the passanger door. The owner put a big decal of a bandaid that said "ouch" over it best sticker job ever

It was from the 13 minute long video that was posted a day or two ago. After all their work and none of the college engineering students messing it up, the professional they had assemble or work on the indy car engine forgot to put the drain plug in and shit almost hit the fan. It ended their race but not the story or experience.

There are tons of legal grey market skylines here. You can get pretty much anything that is 25 years or older imported in and tagged in most states. I used to work for a business in Atlanta that imported grey market cars all the time, legally. It's tedious but not hard or illegal.

My hubs is "John" and he said the poptarts he bought and toasted at the gas station while they waited on their flat fix, were the best damn ones he ever ate.

Worked for uhaul for 3 years... I once rented a trailer to a guy that was towing a 73 charger that weighed about 4000 lbs... had to load it up backwards to get it to fit... you do not need to tell uhaul you are towing a miata. If you have a truck that is not a midget... should be no problem.

Before I even watch, the answer is “why the fuck not?”

This kid is the stereotypical image of the 240SX wannabe drifters that think they can drive, but can't. And make stupid decisions for no logical reason. "Always wanted something right-hand drive." That is in fact the worst reason to by a RH drive car lol. Just listening to this kid ticks me off. My Bro had a tricked out 240SX with a full body kit, racing seats and a new midnight purple paint job. He sold it to some young punk like this guy and the kid called him back 2 days later broken down on the highway, blaming it on him. Turns out he had somehow been driving the car with the starter turning (key turned too far) without noticing that horrendous noise, until it broke. I have no doubt the car has been crashed by now because I would have seen that local driving it around our small town if it hadn't.

I hate uhaul. past couple times I needed to rent one of their car hauler, they keep telling me my tow vehicle isn't equip enough to tow it and try to tell me I would have to rent their truck just to tow it. for example, my father had a 06 kia sorrento. engine overheated. I have a 2010 f150 4x4 tow max package. uhaul said my truck can't tow the vehicle because the trailer and vehicle would be overweight. I had to argue with them close to half an hour. was finally able to get the car hauler and my truck towed it just fine w/t any issues. I had another vehicle that needed towing and it was my brothers car same ordeal at uhaul. after I was able to tow my brothers car back to his place, I pulled the trigger and purchase myself my own 20' car hauler.

I rented a car dolly from Uhaul to tow a Ford Explorer with my Ford Ranger. I knew they would never allow that, so I just told them I was towing a 2008 Toyota Yaris. Rented it, used it, returned it, they were never the wiser.
